area of campus, norah dimly lit path way, police say he accosted a female student on the lower level of the crowded stamp student union in the middle of the afternoon. >> i heard that in girl was sexual assaulted. engine the details but like someone touched her from her skirt. >> reporter: he ran his hand up the victim's leg to her behind and then sprinted away. he would not get far. >> a young lady walked up to her officers and said she was assaulted so we searched building, found the individual fitting the description, brought her close enough, she said "that's the guy," yeah we arrested him. >> reporter: a second girl came forth saying she was a victim in the same day in the student union. she said the incidents won't stop her from sending her

daughter taylor a high school senior here. >> it's disturbing, students, you want to keep them as safe as possible however it exists everywhere. >> reporter: even in one of the busiest of places where more than 55,000 people on campus converge, never thinking they may be at risk of becoming a victim. >> everyone goals there between classes be and there's food courts and a coffee shops,ite wouldn't think i would have to be too comfortable. >> reporter: they say he had removed a green sweater he had been wearing at the time of the incident when they discovered him on the main floor. he made no other effort to elude police. state police are searching for a suspect who they say attempted to hold up the same bank not just once, but twice, in just over a week. according to authorities this man right here robbed the madison square savings branch on september 30th, he came back on saturday.

when employees noticed him they locked the door to it. they were fleeing towards the fallston mall shopping center, anyone with information should contact the metro crimestoppers. baltimore city police are regrouping after a violent weekend in the city. there were six homocide in three days prompting the city's top cop to call in extra officers to evaluate their efforts to stop this violence. joce sterman is here with more on their plan of attack. >> reporter: after a few question it weekends the city racked up half a dozen murders and three other close calls. that meant face time with police commissioner fred buell sap, for all districts, homocide patrol and other divisions. they met with commanders at noon today to talk about con patrols and how that violent weekend left six miami-dade, a 78-year-old man was found stabbed in his home. cops will step up patrols in

the areas that had violence this weekend which they say have not been problem spots in the past. the police commissioner wants his commanders to start using gps technology to jeer oh in on hot spots. they say the focus to the city is still on one thing, bad guys with guns, because five of this weekend's killings involved guns. despite the total police are keeping things in perspective saying weekend violence is down 16% compared to this time last we're. he credits stepped up patrols for peaceful weekends over the past month and a half. kind of like setting course on a sail. you're going to run into a squall and have to readjust the sails accordingly. they say they are still looking for help in the murder of that 78-year-old and asking anyone with information to give them a call. at for those bad guys with guns they say they'll still have new money to get creative. they ever planning a major announcement for wednesday. josie sterman, abc 2 news.

all right. we're looking at a gorgeous day. we saw plenty of sunshine out there. but things will about to change a little bit. we're going to get some clouds moving in. also a chance of showers and thunderstorms as well. as of now we're dry, things looking pretty good, we're going to be looking at, again, some showers trying to move through. as of now we do have the showers, the thunderstorms, basically up into the pennsylvania area so if your travels take you that way yes, they are dealing with risky thunderstorms, the change may come as you go into the evening, especially into tomorrow, 83 degrees right now, into baltimore, 86 into washington, frederick right around 82, hagerstown 82, york coming at 78, going to cool down with some of the showers coming in there as well. we're still seeing more of the same into salisbury and over into dover. as we go through the rest of the evening, increasing cloud cover, the showers and thunderstorms will possible with that temperature coming in

right around 74 degrees. so i'll still have my 74-degree forecast to talk about, i'm going to tell you all that, but now let's go back to rosy. tonight the parents of a missing disabled girl are facing some questions. 10-year-old sahara claire baker reportedly vanished this weekend from her north carolina home. the stepmother says the last time she saw hershey was sleeping in her bedroom. several hours after that they reported a fire in the back yard. then sahara was reported missing. they are questioning her stepmother el is a baker who was arrested on about a dozen other unrelated charges. i haven't really seen, my wife has been -- i hope i can get my daughter back. >> she has bone cancer and

at abc2news.com. click on the political section under the news tab. you may have noticed a jump in the pump as of lately. gas prices have been steadily increasing in baltimore over the past month. that's according to aaa's fuel gauge reports. the average price of a regular gallon of gas has increased by 18 cents since last month. they are recalling 85,000 mercedes luxury cars because of steering problems. it could be due to a loss of power steering fluid which could make the vehicle hard to control. the e class coupe and cabree ole models, they can bring them to any mercedes dealership for a free system checkup. well how young is too young to get a tattoo? it's a growing trend. teens with tattoos and parents who are okay with those permanent etching. plugs, helping parents yield. hope for two drugs that were once considered a dangerous combo.

because of my forecast. those temperatures are going to start to rise. we're drop. i definitely do have some change in the forecast. here we go. looking outside the harbor cam, absolutely gorgeous as of now. that temperature coming in right around 83 degrees. yes we're in the 80s for today. but that's all going to change. the humidity feels pretty good, 36%, winds out of the west northwest at 7 miles per hour, the barometer at 29.77 and holding steady as of now. checking out some temperatures, some weather bug temperatures across the area, we can see 80 degrees now into ellicott city, rockville around 83, middletown at 80 degrees right now, as we look back towards the west here, chester town at 80, northeast at 79, gerina around 86 degrees now into denton. these temperatures will start to fall off but not before we have a chance for showers and maybe a thunderstorm as we go

through the evening time frame. what's going on is we do have the scout out front relatively to the north of us right now. we have disturbances riding along that frontal boundary so pennsylvania is getting some of the action of some thunderstorms and some scattered showers, that's going to continue as we go through the ore night. now with us we still have that chance but our chance will be better as we go in through the end of the week. i'm gonna show you that in a second. but for right now as we go into tuesday there is that chance for showers to roll in, i'm going to call them scattered showers, i'm not going to think everyone is going to get wet as we go through the evening into tomorrow. by wednesday high pressure is going to be diving into the area so we definitely are starting to look pretty good outside. in the meantime we do have showers for this evening, temperatures at 58 degrees, mostly cloudy. mostly more of the same as we go into tomorrow. is a chance of showers in the forecast tomorrow, that temperature at 77 degrees, showers, thunderstorms are possible. let's go out and take it
