>> reporter: the yerl accident at the harbor tunnel has been cleared off the right shoulder so. traffic is moving really nicely. looking at the harrisburg expressway, no problems southbound helding towards the beltway. jfx looks good. we have lanes affected in parkville on harford road because of the water main break from earlier in the week. and a road remains closed up in finksburg because of police activity. i will let you know about that in a few moments. jamie, back to you. >> 5:31. 33 men pulled from chilean mine are enjoying new reality this morning. they are free. after spending 69 days trapped underground. abc news is reporting that some could be released from the hospital as early as today. but you know what, their lives will never be the same. after all they were in the international spotlight and they are celebrities. and they have been invited to the presidential palaces and offered vacations and courted by tv shows. and as the men slowly emerge

from the underground, pope benedict sent a message of hope speaking in spanish right outside st. peters basilica, the pope said he continues with hope to entrust the miner's fate in god's goodness. and president obama talked about the miners during an education event at the white house. the president praised everyone involved in the rescue effort. >> this rescue is a tribute to the determination of the rescue workers and the chilean government but the unity and resolve the chilean people who inspire the world. >> and the president went onto thank everyone from chile around the world who helped in this rescue effort. you know, and one of the american companies that the president mentioned with a aspens vain yeah company that provide the drill bit that helped cree ace the rescue shaft. they made the capsule which was very similar to the one used to rescue the miners back in 2002. and one of the miners was tom foy who ironically works for

sinna rock. >> i knower that bunch of happy guys. they got to be happier than i don't know. when the bit broke through. that was one of our happiest days in our lives. it's really exciting. we just couldn't believe it. >> well the company's owner brandon fisher is in chile and says he has been treated like a hero by the miners and their families. the company in summer -- somerset pennsylvania. we have been tracking the miner's heers' progress log onto abc2news.com for the latest news and updates and look back at yesterday's amazing coverage of the rescue. it's 5:33. a flag painted in the middle of a notingham street is now history. baltimore county crews removed it because some of the neighbors were in protest. the flag was right in the middle of alberta avenue written next to it was a support our troops. and a tribute to service member named justin. but an anonymous complaint brought out the county with a

pressure washer to remove the flag. something that other neighbors say was not necessary. >> i don't see anything wrong with it. i think it's one way for people to express the fact they want to support our troops. there's nothing wrong with that. >> baltimore county highway department director says that the flag had to go because the paint used posed a hazard on the road and was defacing county property. 5:34 now. maryland's attorney general says the office says join 48 other states in an investigation into foreclosure documentation practices. doug wants to help ensure homeowners facing foreclosure are treat fairly and i cording to law. last week ally bank of america and jp morgan chase voluntarily halted foreclosures in 23 states admitting they made mistakes. >> they were suggesting they may be able to resolve it in

months. analyst think, look at the breath and depth of the problem, that it is likely to take at least a year. >> now maryland's court officials are reviewing the request from the governor and others to halt all foreclosures in our state for at least 60 days. and fewer takeovers are expected now that several lenders have subpoenaed and suspended foreclosures. really -- relate track reports they seize more home this summer than any three month stretch. more than 288,000 people were kicked out of their homes. a big surprise at south river high in anne arundel county. nordstrom preened a $10,000 check to one of five student in the area selected over 400 applications. abc2 news don harrison was this for the big surprise. >> reporter: it seemed like a normal day at south river high. until this happened. >> where's taylor. >> taylor. >> okay, my gosh. >> oh, my gosh.

the second half of the morning and through the lunchtime and this afternoon it gets heavy falling back into the mid-50s. let's see what he happening on the roads with kim. >> reporter: okay. we still have lingering crash activity in south baltimore at caton wilkins avenue. you could see lanes blocked there so just be aware of that. also northbound at fort mchenry toll plaza a disabled vehicle is blocking one lane. continuing roadwork activity northbound harford at skylark court up in parkville because of that water main break. police activity in finksburg pilgrim lane closed at sandy mount and we have roadwork blocking some of the southbound lanes and york road between ridgely and padonia. linda so has an update on a top story. >> reporter: police are investigating a disturbing case of sexual assault at a playground. i am linda so. what the 7-year-old victim told police. 7, tuesday night a7-year-old girl told police four men with dread locks grabbed her and zek yulely aassaulted her. she managed to get home and a relative took her to the hospital. she told officers she didn't know the men hadn't seen them before and couldn't tell how old they r police say three of the men left the scene on motor scooters and the fourth on a bicycle. >> i won't be sending them at night unless i am with them. that won't happen for a while. >> reporter: the girl was treated and released from the hospital and if you have information on the case, calling howard county place at 410-3 13-stop. let's go to college park. a 21-year-old man charged in the stabbing of four men including his brother. we are told the fight started over a bar stool here at the thirsty turtle and police say leonardo alonzo ramos cut three of the men and stabbed his brother when he got involved. ramos is not a student at the university of maryland but some of the men that were injured

are. new york man has seen enough of the senseless killings and so he is taking his message to washington one step at a time. look at randy sarnlgent who started walking from buffalo on august 28th. and all along the way hearings been carrying banner filled with the names of murder victims. >> these are names, these are people who have family behind them, you know. these aren't ten second spots in the news. they are people's lives. >> look at the names there on that sheet. his goal is to peek with political leaders in dc and get them to put more effort into stoppingededth deadly violence in america. the city of baltimore understands. they are trying to get financial help to fight gun violence. the mayor ace nouns -- ano onsed a 300,000 dollar smart policing grant. one of only six in the nation. and it will fun the city police department's antigun violence efforts. >> 50% of all the people we

powerful doppler radar and forecast certified most accurate by weather rate. >> good morning. we are watching a couple things. first outside our live view from harbor cam, and we are looking westbound and clouds have rolled in the last couple hours. it's currently dry and it should remain dry for most of the morning commute. but brit umbrella and rain jacket because it's going to be wet by lunchtime. and by the time you all travel back home. 48 in town. 49 degrees in philidelphia as we look at 5:-- shall 5:49 on the clock. rain is trying to advance into the southwest portion of d.c. you may see some sprinkles move in between let's say 7 and 8:00. looks like there's a better chance of the rain pushing into the metro area after nine and 10 and heading towards lunch a. good chance the rain is on top us. this line of storms to the southwest is a sign the storm is getting energized across the deep south. that area of low pressure will pull in more moisture. once it reaches the coast, it

starts to wind up. that developing nor'easter will pull off towards new england and be a wind generator by the time most of the rain is actually out of here. as we bring it back home we will watch the forecast model highlight the rainfall pushing in. before lunchtime, and by this afternoon, it could be moderate to heavy at times. bulk of our rain will be across a few hours this afternoon into the evening because by midnight it should pull out and as the storm winds up and heavy rain starts to pull towards new england, that's we get the strong winds and that's when we look at the rain cutting off in spotty showers as we head through friday afternoon. but it's going to be winds that push us close to 40 miles per hour in some spots. clouds may linger tomorrow night on into saturday morning. and looks like the baltimore running festival could be breezy but by that point in time, we see clearing and improvement for the weekendch today, developing rain and that will hold us in the 50s. my forecast high at 59 degrees. and the rain could behead heavy this afternoon and by evening. but starting to cut off towards

midnight and by daybreak it should be out of here and we are down to 46. the exten forecast want to highlight the wind on friday and still a breeze on saturday. low 60s and low to mid-40s, the lows. 68 on sunday and monday. nearp 2 -- 72 today with a chance of showers continuing through the middle of next week. let's get the look of traffic with kim. >> reporter: thanks. for the most part, all the major roadways are flowing freely without any really big problems. just a couple things. northbound at the fort mchenry tunnel a. disabled vehicle is blocking toll lane 11. travelers can get by that without too many problems. still work an injury accident in south baltimore. and parkville, that water main break repair harford road at scar lark, almost sleet complete and that should be clear and finksburg will see pilgrims lane closed up there for police activity and roadwork southbound york road between ridgely and padonnia that could cause delays so keep this that in mind.

let us go to melbourne florida. the guy wearing lettuce this guy was jogging along the streets naked. so the police spotted the guy wearing only a pair of swimming goggles. the officer followed the jogger in the car telling him, hey, stop. the party say the 18-year-old continued to ignore police officer's orders and the officer got out of his car and chased him and shocked him with a taser. the suspect hit the ground hard and had to go to the hospitalp with cuts and because he was out of it, he even told officers he had super powers. all right. here a story into you won't believe this category a guy caught a shoplifter at his costume store in virginia. the punishment he agreed to wear a costume and a sign. as funny as it seems, the 18-year-old knows it's no laughing matter. >> i think that it's actually a good deal.
