a beautiful sunset after a beaut iflt warm day in downtown baltimore. the ravens certainly felt the heat but will these warm temperatures stick around for your work week? good evening, thanks for joining us for our new abc 2 news at 6:30. meteorologist wyatt everhart is here with the forecast. >> yes. the answer to the question is, absolutely. it's going to get warmer through the week. but warm and wet. that is going to be the situation. we get a lot of rain coming our way throughout the next couple of days.

take a look, right now 73 in the inner harbor, 70 in annapolis, a warm and beautiful sunday evening. had clouds roll in this afternoon just about the time the ravens were taking care of business at the owned of the game. now skies clearing off nicely. rest of the evening, down through the 60s we go. partly cloudy, very, very nice. an early look at your hour by hour forecast tomorrow, we bring in the rain. again, still warm, but a much wetter looking week ahead. we'll have the details on that and more coming up. a glen burnie man took a gamble on whether he'd get busted tearing down signs but he was caught on camera. he was arrested on saturday morning. this wasn't the first sign he messed with, say police. >> reporter: that's right. he was caught with 70 signs in his vehicle. take a look now at this surveillance video. a spokesman said there was a

video camera at the headquarters after noticing a number of signs were vandalized or stolen. a police report was filed earlier this week. around 4 saturday morning anne arundel officers were in the area when they spotted 50-year-old david corigan from glen burnie knock down one sign and begin cutting down a second. police say corigan admitted to playing a report in destroying the signs and he may be linked to other thefts the campaign signs throughout the county. at least 700 signs had been stolen or vandalized in the past month adding up to $60,000 in damages. corigan was charged with theft and destruction of property. now, question a advocates say -- opponents say it doesn't belong at the mall and a casino will create traffic backups. voters will decide on november

2nd. sheryl conner, abc2 news. a dundalk women is in critical condition suffering from severe burns after an early morning fire. firefighters are investigating the cause of that fire that started in the center house of a group of row homes on the 2900 block of yorkway. firefighters rescued three people from a second floor and a fourth person was found in the basement. a man is under arrest in howard county after police believe he set a woman on fire. it happened in a wooded area near gorman road and laurel saturday afternoon. police believe the people involved may be homeless and living in the woods but they have not yet released those people's name. there's no word on the woman's condition. she was found severely burned after receiving a call from a witness. today family, friends, and colleagues gather to remember brian stevenson. he died last weekend after being struck in the head with a rock during an argument over a parking spot in canton. this weekend a viewing was held at bond green's funeral home. a funeral was scheduled for

tomorrow morning at 11 at the new antioch baptist church. funeral arrangements are set for another baltimore city police officer. thomas courts died after his patrol car crashed foo a parked fire truck. a private viewing is scheduled for tuesday. a funeral is set for 11 a.m. on wednesday at the cathedral or mary our queen in baltimore. he will be laid to west in lutherville. the united states honor flag is being sent to baltimore in honor of those city police officers who were recently killed. the flag flew over grand zero during recovery efforts in new york city after 9/11. it's set to arrive here on tuesday afternoon. baltimore county police say three people wearing ski masks were spotted in the school around 4:30 saturday morning. police say they made a mess by

drawing graffiti inside the skoor and rummaging through lockers. maintenance crews called 911 but no arrests have been made yet. a school spokesman said it did not affect their home coming activity. a dorm room bust in washington, d.c.. a georgetown university dorm was evacuated after chemical lab was discovered inside. cops arrested two students and a visitor in connection with the suspected lab. miss say it started saturday morning -- police say it started saturday morning when they got a call about a foul odor. >> it was potentially explosive. they brought in the explosive experts. again, it was made safe for the explosives folks to come n the dangers are explosions and also inhalation. >> initially police thought the lab was for making meth. later though they said it was for making a drug known as dmt which is illegal. it's a new and controversial

the wiggins' home for a demonstration but for an increasing number of family, businesses, and schools, it's real. and they're willing to spend $200 an hour for that canine drug sweep. to be certified to do this week they have to hit on the drug 19 out of 20 times. when do you call them in, that's the question. >> it looks like you want to do this right now. >> yeah, i would. it's an invasion of privacy and teenagers i think have to feel that they do have their own space. but, you know, drugs are a serious problem. >> reporter: delaney wiggins and her say lucy say mom and dad better have a reason. >> that's my privacy, i know you're my parent, but you have to give me some space. >> we do everything we can to eliminate drugs in any environment. >> reporter: for the drug trainer and mike kimble a drug czar and one time addict it's life's work. for the dog, its reward is much

simpler. john hendron, abc news, catonsville, maryland. the ravens managed to shake off a pesky buffalo bills team en route to a win at home today. they trafld by as much as 24 -- trailed by as much as 24 but took control of the game. they put the game into overtime but a field goal following a buffalo turnover sealed the ravens' victory. much more on the game on abc 2 news at 11. your grocery bill, the price at the pump, you're paying more all over the place. but now you may be able to save a couple of bucks on your electric bill. we'll explain how. plus, the countdown to election day is on and democrats are campaigning furiously to the five preduckses of a republican land slide. saturday we forecast 68

but that charge is waived if bge puts in some measures. the public service commission is still considering that proposal. . the campaign for the mid-term elections is heading into the home stretch. with little more than a week to go, democrats are working hard to stop what some believe could be a republican land slide. abc's tom and bradley reports they're trying to hard to keep the loyalty of one particular voting block. >> with only nine days left, the head of the democratic national committee tim cain says his party will hold on to the house. >> we're seeing good early voting trends and we have work to do but we think we can do it. >> reporter: his republican counterpart has a different view. michael style says the g.o.p. will take the house, and maybe the senate, too. >> you're going to see a wave, an unprecedented wave on election day that's going to

surprise a lot of people. >> reporter: with polls showing some democrats gaining ground, the party has been wooing women voters during these final campaigning days. >> women have made such enormous strides. >> reporter: female voters supply reliable support for democrats. the democrats need women voting in large numbers once again. >> unmarried women now are performing at about the same levels that they were in 2008 in terms of coming back to vote. >> man up harry reed. >> i never had to prove my andhood to anyone. >> reporter: politics in the 2010 mid-term elections are a blood sport. women are in this election using the tools in their arsenal. >> reporter: michelle obama returns to the campaign trail this week. her husband the president will be out as well to do his best for democrats in close races.

of the south today. quick snap shots from our high definition weather camera at science center and further north, fall colors out and about. great weekend to check out the color as we had gorgeous color all weekend and nice changing leaves across the state. ocean city needs to see how empty the beach was even though it was a warm day down there and the water temps up close to 70 degrees so it wouldn't have been a bad day there. upper 70s the rule today. widespread temperatures pushing close to 830 but not quite getting there. st. michaels 71. current winds out of the south and light. in fact they've died out significantly in the last hour or two. we had a steady south breeze during the day. temperatures warmed up rapidly. we're down to 70 and we'll see decent cooling into the evening. highs today, again, as warm as 76 at the inner harbor. we did hit 74 in annapolis and

we pushed awfully close to 80 there in frederick. your neighborhood forecast, picked a couple of towns on the eastern show, rain likely, even storms possible in the afternoon. sun mixes in early but not a lot. here haye what's going on out there right now. you can see actually brief clearing for the moment after we had afternoon clouds. no rain with those. rain up in central ohio right now all part of our next approaching storm system. we're seeing the weather map getting more active now and we often see this in late october, clash of the air masses, a lot of warm air has surged north and high pressure juror shore has held that -- off-shore has helped that circulation pushing that south wind and pushing the warm air up. this next storm will wrap in colder air and it will add up to showers and storms tomorrow, again on tuesday and even into wednesday, looking like good rain chances through the end of the week. we've cleared out for a few

. a jazz concert lifts spirits and raises money for the sisters network which benefits african american women with breast cancer. local artists played for 300 people in owens mills last night. according to the american cancer society, african americans have a lower survival rate of breast cancer than white women part hi because they go undetected for a long period of time. >> right now we have about four, five women that we're currently helping. people that need help with, you know, getting their heat turned on and things of that nature that, unfortunately that are not working because they're going through treatment right now. so we're doing that to help them. >> our own cheri johnson emceed the event. they raised $10,000. celline dion gave birth to

twin boys this week. they were delivered prematurely but are said to be healthy. the boys have not been named yet. dion and her husband, reni angilil have a 9-year-old son. folks were looking for a good scare. the new horror movie paranormal activity 2 took the top spot at the box office. and speaking of hallowe'en, all new tonight on abc2 news at 11, high tech trick or treating. the little gadgets that can make a big difference when it comes to keeping your kids safe this hallowe'en.
