emily schmidt, abc news washington. 6:32. he took gamble on stealing campaign signs and a man who is against slots at arundels mills mall was caught on tape and by police. linda so joins us now with more on this video and the investigation. linda. >> reporter: well, when voters in anne arundel connedy head to the polls, they will have to decide on question a, whether to bring slots to arundel mills mall. voters are evenly split and police have man in custody for doing more than voicing his opinion. 50-year-old david corrigan was caught on tape destroying a sign around 4 saturday morning. it is a sign asking voteers to support slots at the mall. police say he admitted to destroying the signs and they found about 70 other signs in his car. earlier in the week they campaigned for question a placed a camera at headquarters in severna park after noticing someone was knocking down the signs. >> he thought it out a lot. if you notice, he's wearing a construction hat and a vest. he seems to be posing as a county worker and he walked

38 years old the day after the assault. 25-year-old sian james is locked up charged with first-degree murder. james may have been in the company of a man and woman at the time of the incident. one of them directed police to the mosaic nightclub at power plant live across the street from central district police headquarters where he was arrested without incident. now it's left some people in canton worried that an incident like this may cause people to fear for their safety. >> canton is not a bad neighborhood. and my fear is everybody is going to be be scared of this situation and move out. >> reporter: now james was out on bail during the incident. but now he is in jail on murder charges. now again the funeral services are at 11 this morning here in randallstown. reporting hive, sherrie johnson abc2 news. and funeral arrangements are set for another city police officer. officer thomas portz died last

week after the squad car crashed into a parked fire truck. a private viewing is planned for today. for immediate family only. another one is scheduled for tomorrow at rubbings funeral home in towson and the funeral will be held at 11 on wednesday morning at the cathedral of mary ark queen on north charles street. he will be laid to rest in lutherville. united states honor flag is sent to our city to honor the city police officers who were recently killed along with officer stevenson and portz, officer james fowl wears killed in pennsylvania in a crash last month. flag flew over ground diseuro during recovery efforts after 9/11 and it's set to arrive tomorrow in our city tomorrow afternoon. we are rooting for her to make it. she fought but just couldn't survive last night. last night we did lose joanne julyian. she died in the house fire her in dundalk. firefighters don't know what caused this fire that started right in the middle home of a group of row homes in the 2900 block of york way.

firefighters rescued three people from the second floor and found 57-year-old julyian in basement bedroom. she was taken to jobs hopkins bayview medical center where she died. a man is under arrest in howard county accused of setting a woman on fire. it happened in a wooded area near gorman in laurel on saturday afternoon. police believe the people involved may be homeless and living in the woods. they haven't released any of their names. we are trying to get an update on that woman's condition. police found her severely burned after receiving a call from a witness. homecoming weekend at dundalk high school brought in some unwelcomeed guests and police are still look for the vandals. baltimore county police say that three people were wearing ski mask spotted in the school around 4:30 saturday morning. police say they made a mess. they were rumaging through the lockers. maintenance crews called 911 but no arrests have been made. 6:48.
