the after hours drop box. it happened in annapolis at two dealerships west of west boulevard. roosevelt leftwich joins us with more. >> reporter: kelly, even police say it's unusual that the cars were stolen this way, and it's something that could happen anywhere. the thieves managed to get into an after hours lock box at two different dealerships getting the keys and taking off with the cars. it really does make you wonder how they were able to pull this off on sunday a thief was able to get into a narrow drop box opening and get two sets of keys at this toyota place in annapolis. they were able the do the same with the audi service drop box and make off with a keys for an audi left for repairs. it's something police say can't say it's happened much before. >> it's the percent time we've had so many happen at once we had three against from sunday to monday morning. it's a quick pattern developed quickly. we have had it in the past but

not to this extent. >> reporter: representatives from both dealerships declined to comment but police say they are working with the dealerships to improve securities. dozens of people are placing cars keys at dealerships all over the area for reappears. >> it's such a common thing to do no one could think someone could get into these boxes to steal a car. >> it's one of awareness no matter where you are people have to be very cautious as to what they are doing. dropping their keys off their car should alter look around be sure nobody's watching them if they are not to do it. simplest way systems not always the most convenient way is to drop your car off during the day and hand the keys over to management then you run in risk of having your car stolen. >> reporter: police still haven't figured out exactly how the keys were taken out of the box but they are working with the dealers involved to make sure lock boxes are locked uptighter and the the parking lots have better lighting. thanks rosie. 17 computers award to a northeast baltimore school through a grant have all been

stolen. last week someone broke into the purpose and potential christian arts academy and took the computers. the children are left with fewer tools to learn with. tonight police say they are exploring every angle to learn who did this. >> we are looking at the possibility it could be somebody with inside knowledge of the schools, inside nog that niece computers were fairly new a new acquisition by the school. all of that is being investigated by detectives. >> and this is the second bulk theft in the area but police don't believe the two are connected. two people are dead after fire sweeps through a glen burnie auto repair shop it happened this morning at the auto repair shop in the 300 block of arundel corporation road. when the fire units arrived flames were shooting through the roof. it took crews an hour to get it under control. two people were unaccounted for and were later found inside the building their bodies have been

taken to the state medical examiner's office for identification. it was a busy morning at high school. they spended to the school after two students got into a fight. resource officers tried to break it up. police were called and had to use pepper spray to separate the teenagers. several students were taken to the hospital for treatment for the pepper spray. getting a jump start in advance of veteran's day. today baltimore county hosted an annual commemoration ceremony in honor of our troops. abc2 news jeff hager hag more on this very special tribute. >> reporter: the to takes could a center for the orthopedist show choir provided the patriotic tunes but as the wars dragon even some of the veterans themselves have to wonder at times if their service is out of sight and out of mind.

determined they get a chance to realize the american dream, that they have given up so much to defend. >> reporter: smith even commissioned patriot plaza between the owned courthouse and circuit court in towson to salute each branch of the armed services. this is the first time it has been used to commemorate veteran's day a day we set aside to honor brave men and women who defend our freedom every day. >> i can tell you the families that have deployed soldiers and airmen that's never lost on them and lost on me as i watch the families say good-bye to their loved one. i think they have the toughest job back at home, and one thing i would ask is to support those families that are left behind. >> reporter: in towson jeff hager abc2 news. right now 5,000 misdemeanors are serving in iraq and afghanistan. so far 119 men and women from our state have sacrificed their

lives this those wars. one of those soldiers is sergeant john burner of baltimore he died while serving his fourth tour oversees it wasn't a quality death his family believes he died pause the military didn't help him with the common medical diagnosis. >> reporter: sergeant john burner was not a soldier who backed away from his duties he served four tours overseas. his family is fighting the military asking questions because they think more should have been done to prevent his death. sergeant burner was given a full military funeral at arlington a few weeks ago he died in iraq in september not on the battlefield but under military medical care from a condition his family says should have been recognized and treated. tonight at 11:00 we'll hear from burner's widow and his parents as they try to piece together what happened in their soldier's final hours. >> i don't know if it's a

being treated at shock trauma. the driver of the toyota was not hurt. tonight we have a sketch of the man police believe raped a woman in anne arundel counties. take a look at this picture. investigators say the man followed the woman as she returned from taking out the trash monday night. the victim says he showed her a gun and raped her monday evening in the 8100 block of scenic meadow drive in laurel. if you think you know who this person is in this sketch you're urged to call the sex offense squad (410)222-3750. a change in how jurors in maryland decide cases involving sex abuse. maryland's court of appeals ruled jurors don't have to agree on the specific acts committed in order to find the defendant guilty. jurors must only agree that abuse was committed by the defendant. this decision means the 2007 conviction of david christine 0 stands. he was convicted on two counts of child sex abuse in baltimore

county. his lawyers objected because the judge did not instruct jurors on the specific acts committed by the defendant. a giant atm that shows how one baltimore county delegate describes theft from some of maryland's inmates. i state audit found corrections employees recognizely took money from inmate accounts. correction officials have already made changes and fired five employees. the audit has been referred to the attorney general's office for further investigation. and another audit uncovers information about people you share the road with more than 1300 drivers may be driving with a suspended or revoked license. the head of the nba says it's a software problem 1300 cases are being reviewed manually. other issues have been addressed including secure driver information in the nba database from thieves. they are willing to put their lives on the line for country even if they are not citizens until today. we're going to take you to a very special ceremony that military members are calling

. tenmenn and women received their u. s. citizenship today in a special ceremony naturalization ceremony aboard the uss constellation. the group currently serves in the u. s. military and they all said this was the proudest day of their lives. on this over of veteran's day we are paying tribute to the brave men and women who served and still serve in their armed forces. today on our facebook page we asked you to send a photo of your loved one who served our country. erika sent in this photo of colonel dean dickey father of 7 children served in wwii. he was recently added to the chemical corps hall of fame he's now buried in arlington cemetery and his wife is buried right by his side. send us your pictures of the veterans in your life tell us all about them on our w m ar facebook fan page we'll salute your loved ones on the air or

attach a photo send it to pix at abc2news.com. during our 5:00 newscast tomorrow wyatt is going to be live serving it up at the applebee's east point mall he's going to be serving meals to veterans at the restaurant and we'll bring you live reports throughout the newscast. he will not be cooking just serving the meals. a new study finds that african-american homebuyers and buyers in some low income neighborhoods actually pay a higher fha loan rate. in 2008 homebuyers in low income neighborhoods were three times more like than buyers in upper class neighborhoods to receive a high cost fha mortgage. african americans and latinos were twice as likely as whites to get a high cost loan when buying a house with an fha mortgage. communities united and greater baltimore urban league are calling for an investigation. >> it is essential that hud investigate the causes for these discrepancies and take
