before today, drizzle and fog in the morning. some afternoon sun, guaranteed high of 61. let's look at that fog and your commute with kim brown. >> traffic's not bad early on, but yes, fog is making an impact. we have fog warnings in place this morning at the bay bridge. you can kind of see the fog hanging over the beltway on the northeast side at harford road. traffic is very light, moving at a nice pace. no problems from belfast to the beltway. 95 looking good out of harford county. as we look at our maps, just working one car crash, single car vehicle into the jersey wall on the beltway as you approach the jfx. not impacting traffic that much. police remain on the scene there, traffic is flowing freely around the baltimore metro. megan and charley, back to you. it's annoying, but we have to do it, i'm okay with that. >> the pat downs in airport security causing outrage in parts of the country.

these pictures make you kind of up comfortable. this week it could be worse. the holiday rush will pick up tomorrow and wednesday. tsa agents will be doing more pat downs. those pat downs some say are going way too far. emily schmidt has more from washington. >> reporter: new airport security scans and pat downs have turned up at least one thing so far, a lot of frustrated passengers. >> the tsa is out of control. >> reporter: these pat downs are considered too close for comfort, up to interpretation. one breast cancer survivor, a flight attendant tells this story. >> she put her full hand on my breast. she said "what's this?" i said a prothesis, i've had breast cancer. she said "you'll have to show me that." >> would you submit to one of these pat downs? >> not if i could avoid it. who would? >> reporter: the tsa says the

measures are necessary. >> you have the option to request the pat down be conducted in a private room and by the person of your choice. >> reporter: airport screening procedures will be adapted as conditions warrant. >> i feel greater security with the scanners. >> reporter: there's an internet movement urging passengers to opt-out of body scans this week to slow security and prove a point to the tsa. some experts aren't sure the idea will catch on. >> most travellers just want to get to their destination as fast as possible. >> reporter: one business group says pat downs is dangerous and irresponsible. it bunches travellers in the less secure parts of the airport. as the debate wages over airport security pat downs, it's

up, snow, ice and accidents were piling up this weekend. >> in minnesota of course. minnesota always has bad weather. take a look at this. the massive center of a winter storm there. >> my toe was caught in the snow back, i went down, i'm pretty sure i snapped my ankle. >> hundreds of accidents on foot and on the road. early sunday morning across parts of minnesota because of freezing rain. huge storm there. state police responded to close to 400 crashes from midnight until 5:00 a.m. in the minneapolis area. cars, even plows were seen in ditches. one accident was deadly. temperatures there were expected to rise above freezing sunday, making it better for driving conditions. >> that's, that's not for everybody. ice isn't fun for everybody. check this out, wanted to highlight, as you see this in

time now is 5:43. good morning, queen ann's county is on a 90-minute delay as far as school delays today. also, no kindergarten, due to the fog. queen ann's schools, 90 minute delay, no kindergarten, now back to your news. a gunman killed a maryland correctional officer. sherrie johnson is live with more. >> reporter: police are searching for a person of interest found dead yesterday. this all started with a three-hour barricade on sunday at the home of 28-year-old shawan jones. police approached the neighborhd blood on the

door. jones was found murdered inside her friend's home. police say she was killed by a single gunshot wound to the upper body shortly after 3:00 sunday morning. >> when homicide detectives came to the location, they saw blood on the door and had reason to believe the individual was inside. they contacted swat unit. >> reporter: we were told jones was a correctional officer since 2004. neighbors say she had a 5-year-old daughter. how horrible is this story?

out of montgomery county this morning. it starts with a boyfriend, girlfriend fight. edwin barber stormed off with the couple's 11-month-old daughter. barber drove down the wrong side of the road. he ends up hitting an suv, 46-year-old terrence blackwell died in that crash. >> everybody in this situation's hurting. >> the collision happened over the weekend in silver springs near calverton. no word on what started this fire in canton. a three-alarmer brought under control. the fire did some damage to a hair salon and local bistro. a buy back program happened

inside st. gregory catholic church on the city's west side on tuesday. they say that people have found guns in their neighborhoods, even in their yards sometimes. at the church, they say, seems like a safe haven. >> we know it's not the hardened criminals turning in the guns, these are guns that could be used in modern crimes and are used in modern crimes throughout the city. >> people turning in the guns got up to $100 from the catholic review. city police officers, they processed the guns after that and then destroy them. you can still turn in the guns at the church if you're still interested. make sure you join us tonight for abc2 news at 11 :00. brian keebler looks at the dna

pittsburgh atop the afc north. warm air trying to push back into the region after a really nice but cool weekend. as a result, really thick fog during the morning hours. winds out of the southeast. that's helped to add in moisture. watch the wind shift. once the morning fog burns off, much more thick down towards the west and south. we push in the southwesterly flow. through the overnight and tuesday, we start pumping in warm air. next cold front, late tuesday afternoon and evening. watch the long arrows and strong wind build in as we head through wednesday. we'll cool down briefly midweek. another surge of warm air, thanksgiving and on friday. 33 in the morning, 54 in the afternoon. we're above these marks for today. record low is 14. 1880 brought us the record high

of 46. again, the foggy start, because of this warm front that's trying to push through the area, we're looking at fog and drizzle during the morning hours, warm winds behind that, that's in response to a very active storm pattern. we've been watching heavy mountain snows across the rock yoez. just a rain event, basically ohio valley into the eastern great lakes. we stay on the warm side, missing most of this rain, eventually this pattern will break down, shifting east and we'll get in some of that action. we'll be watching the forecast with clouds coming back in. rain starting to build to the northwest on tuesday afternoon. that could come with a brief surge of wind, maybe rumble of thunder. that's a cold front that now will be pass ing to our south, strong wind out of the northwest. that's with the cool down, the winds will shift, we'll build back up ahead of the next storm system just in time for thanksgiving and the big
