and we are hoping he will pull through. the 73-year-old was scheduled for a outpatient procedure yesterday but night before that, he developed a fever and infection. his doctors aggressively treated him and brooks says he is responding well. he released a statement saying i am pleased to say that i continue to remain cancer free after my you can seesful treatment for prostate cancer -- successful treatment for prostate cancer. i ask you give me privacy and look forward to a full recovery and thank you for your prayersp i played from 1955 to 1977 for the -- played for the o's from 1955 to 1977. he made 18 all star teams and won the m-vp award in 64. he played all 24 seasons his major league career with the orioles. as the o's get ready to open on the road, we are all praying for a speedy recovery for brooks robinson. linda so, abc2 news. >> thank you. time is 5:47. major league baseball kicked

overcoming the warmer ground. carroll county a two-hour school delay and interstate 83 in southern pennsylvania, very bad conditions as it is covered up and leading to icing and slipping and sliding on the roads. the snow trying to sneak further south and east. and, it is possible to get snow on the first of april. and baltimore almanac says we should be at 60. we have had records that range from 15 on the low end to 88 on the high end. but the record snow for date and for the month in baltimore 9.4 inches. that was back in 1924. that will not be challenged today but just forsake it's possible to happen. heavy snow in new england near boston and heading through central mass. through the capital district of new york and interior sections northwest of the new york metro area. some of the places will wind up with a foot of snow. it goes back to the poconos. the snow extended all the way down through york pa, westminster and near the baltimore area.

take it closer. not doing the best job highlighting where the particular line was. we had to extrapolate that further just north of baltimore. you go 15, 20 miles north, and that is reisterstown and westminster, the highest rain getting stickage in snowfall. the cold air is catching up to the storm and pulling up towards new england. our future radar highlighting the fact that it's there and the rain south and east just wet road, i-95, eastern shore, annapolis, no worries. this gets out of here and could have showers in the rain variety in the afternoon. another system could sneak in with showers heading in through saturday afternoon. warming temperatures and the warming trend continues up through early next week. 48 in the afternoon temperature. problems with a mix elsewhere. but north and west, that wind reminder is there. back down to around 33 around the beltway and look for the weekend outlook, temperatures modify 5 # saturday and 56 sunday -- 5 # sunday and 56

sunday. -- 52 sunday and 56 -- saturday and 56 sunday with rain on opening day. >> reporter: even though the road are wet, most of the pavement temperatures are at or above the freezing mark this morning. so traffic is able to pass through the wet conditions without a lot of problems. looking live at 695 at liberty road, everybody is taking it easy and keeping the speeds down. obviously because it's slick. we are lucky we don't have accidents or major problems to report around the baltimore beltway. 95 and the 83s also incident free. but as justin mentioned, north and west baltimore expect to see more -- west of baltimore expect to see more slick conditions. baltimore city has a vehicle fire at south hanover. police and ems are on the scene. and police directions are at the intersection of lombard and president street because of an earlier accident. use fayette or central avenue to get around that incident. now back to you. >> kim, thanks. a startling sight in texas. an s up v crashed into a -- suv
