tonight, several people went to the hospital. you may need to convince your boss but napping on the job could be a good thing. under investigation tonight, the body of a man is discovered inside a vacant home along with a 5-year-old boy. the little boy was unharmed. discovery was made in the 8700 block. detectives say the man identified as a 26-year-old was last seen on tuesday leaving a relative's home after a domestic dispute. neighbors we talked with wonder how long the little boy had been in the home with the body.

>> it is a quiet neighborhood. not a lot happening around here. even if the young boy was yelling for help nobody would have heard him unless they wer that yard. >> officers were called to the home on wednesday for a break- in window. they searched the house but didn't find anything. the body and child were found when the homeowner stopped by to check on the home on saturday. police in mississippi found the missing chevy wanted in connection with a murder. lindsay's body was found this past wednesday. on friday, someone driving her impala failed to stop at a sigh prity check point in mississippi. after a quick per suit ended in a crash, the driver leroy wilson was taken into custody. wilson is listed as homeless but is from maryland. he'll be sent back to queen

ann's county. a man is dead tonight. police expect he may have been killed by an explosion. a neighbor went looking for him after he had not seen him for several days. the 44-year-old was found lying on the floor with trauma to the left side of his body. investigators say the evidence points to an explosion. >> it is clear evidence that some type of explosion had occurred. the individual's body was found near a chair that was charred. so there were signs of some type of explosion and possibly small fire. >> the bomb squad discovered the pipe shrapnel in the wall or in his body. investigators are working to determine if it was accidental or suicide. the victim was undergoing troubling problems. high level of carbon monoxide in a howard county motel sends 11 people no the hospital. first responders were called to

the sleep inn in laurel to check on the person's well being. they discovered high levels of the poisonous gas. it appears to be a malfunctioning pool heater. weather wise things started off decent earlier today. by midday we are clouding up. by early afternoon the rain coming in. we thought it might arrive later tonight. it came in a couple hours ahead of schedule. take a look at maryland's most powerful radar. you can see the heavy rain coming in. it is something we had to deal with out there if you were outside today. now we are getting a little bit of a reprieve as we zoom in. you can see one band of rain now pushing south of baltimore. lining up around rockville and ann arundel county from severna park south. there is more developing out to the west right now. you can see it on maryland's most powerful radar. more rain breaking out

>> the fateful came from around the world today to witness as pope benedict xvi spoke about john paul ii. more than a million pilgrims paid tribute to the pope. celebrating his life today the vatican is now certain john paul ii is in heaven. here at home, catholics also celebrated john paul ii. following mass there was a procession in the prayer garden built in the form of pope's honor. the arch bishop o'brien said the service in baltimore gave the church solidarity. the hope is that the world will continue to benefit now that john paul ii is in heaven. >> he won a lot of graces on this earth. he brought peace to many parts of the world. broke down the barriers.

did so many good things. hopefully good things will continue from heaven. >> catholics here will never forget john paul ii's visit to baltimore in 1995. orioles seem to be back at the tribe. after a 6-4 win against the chicago white sox nick markakis had a three run homer in the 1st. orioles streak continues tomorrow night. we have breaking news out of larimer town. baltimore county police s.w.a.t. team members just cleared the scene of a shooting in the 3400 block of dress court. police say a man shot his wife then turned the gun on himself. there was concern that the shooting may have been barricaded inside the home. s.w.a.t. team members made entry and found him dead from an apparent

boat hasn't gone through a safety inspection like this one to make sure the vessel is sea-worthy and that the crew can handle an emergency and they have the right equipment. >> it is a dangerous situation. >> reporter: before you head out into the bay security guard says you should make sure a charter captain has a mariner's license and inspection certificate. >> it needs to be displayed on every certified vessel. this sticker says it has been inspected by the coast guard. this says that we check our vessel every year to certify it meets all safety standard regulations. >> reporter: it was easy to find proof on jim's boat. he was up-to-date and hopes other charter captains are up to the same standard. >> if we should have to abiden by the laws everybody else

check it out. maryland's most powerful radar. where's the rain now? in the immediate baltimore area there is light shower activity toward canton and federal hill. scattered showers over d.c., rockville, extending into howard county. still getting light showers out of the south toward laurel and savage. now we have light to moderate showers across the chesapeake and bay and graysonville. carolina county moderate to heavy bands there. there is some rain out there. some spots not getting it as much right now. you probably will before the evening is done. 57 degrees at bwi marshall. winds east at 6. barometer pressure at 34. 24 and rising. that's unusual. high pressure over the east coast should have done a better job at keeping the rain at bay.

it didn't happen. sometimes the best plans on the weather forecast just don't quite work out. dry early. we had a few sunny peaks this morning. then the rain came in this afternoon. not really downpours until 4:00 or 5:00. we all got to experience chilly rain showers may 1st. i don't know what that means for the rest of the month. you can see the road getting slick in towsen. towsen town festival was good times today. the rain started to pick up at 4:00. i was happy i had to head into the news station to get out of the rain. high temperature 62 in baltimore. 63 easton. this evening you can see temperatures falling into the 50s. rain-cooled air. tomorrow we'll see murky weather at times. i think we'll see warmer

temperatures. a warm front south of us should push in and warm us up later in the day around 70. that doesn't mean it will be a beautiful day. clouds will be around. there will be a chance for showers as the warm front pushes north. it is not going to be a beautiful day but it should be warmer. as we look to the south you can see there is another big area of rain pushing up a cold front. locked up north of us. the cool air is already in place. two areas of cool air. high pressure offshore should have held the rain back. it did not. warm air will nudge in for a day or two before we cool off again on wednesday. with that warm air we'll run the risk for rain tomorrow at the front edge of the warm front. then the cool front comes close tomorrow night into tuesday. that brings more of a chance for showers. 49 cloudy skies tonight. some showers. some showers tomorrow. two degree guarantee 72 later in the day. it will be a cool start. tomorrow night 57.

this man. this sleep spa in midtown manhattan is the oasis during busy work day. >> there is a lot of pressure. it is a way to unwind a little. it really does the trick. >> reporter: once a week she uses her lunch break to duck away for shut eye at $17 for 20 minutes. napping on the job is prohibited by most employers but more are embracing the practice to enhance employee performance. sleep experts say taking naps is a good strategy. >> it will increase productive and problem-solving ability. it will have affects for as long as you remain awake. that is you'll always be that much better for having taken that nap. >> reporter: companys with on-site nap rooms increased last year from five to six percent. yellow spa, which offers nap

rooms, is also seeing a growth in business. >> it is taking the same time as going to starbucks but the effects will be way more positive. >> reporter: so why all the tired workers? longer work days, perhaps. longer commutes and shorter turn around times. >> if you are serious about giving your workers enough time to get eight hours of sleep, which is about ideal for adults, then you should give them 12 hours off between shifts. this will give them enough time to commute, eat, bathe and sociallize with their friends and family. town wind and watch tv and relax and read the paper. do all those things they want to do. if you don't give them enough time to do those things and sleep, it is going to cut into their sleep time. >> reporter: for this lady who works two jobs, she says she'll continue to make tin -- tin investment for a quick nap. >> i really spent money on

napping. on the other hand it works. >> while we are at commercial break think that would work? they are fighting flight attendants. one airline makes sure employees know how to deal with unruly passengers.

if you act up on a flight you might get more than you bargain for. those flight attendants from a hong kong airline are learning kung fu. they had to take a marshal ors class to handle unruly passenger. it is a style of kung fu used in close range combat that they were trained on. >> maryland's most powerful radar. couple showers out there this afternoon. i think we'll look for improvement later this week.
