ponding and puddling in areas. but traffic is moving very nicely off to a very good start. looking at the maps, we don't have any accidents or problems or delays right now. megan and charley, back to you. >> thanks. she came from russia to visit family but this morning no one knows where she is. her family is certain something is not right and this morning police want your help. sherrie johnson has details. >> reporter: that's right julia pogreben-ko vanished and the russian community agreed to team up and help with the search. the 54-year-old woman hat nos been heard from since february 23 whd when she rented a car from -- has not been heard from since february 23rd when she rented a car from new york. at this point police are not sure if she is alive. she is a petite woman at 5-1 and 110 pound. officers found her rental car but they are not saying where.

>> she called family members. she told them she was about an hour away from baltimore the last cell phone call she made. >> reporter: now police need your help in the case. if you know anything about the des appearance, call -- disappearance, call 1-866- lockup. an ellicott city man who killed two people in car crash in 2002 faces up to more than seven years in prison for allegedly violating probation the matthew meyer has a court hearing and that is scheduled to be this morning in hagerstown. he served about four years of a seven-year term for two washington county manslaughter convictions. he was released in 2008. prosecutors say he got a maryland driver's license even though he was not allowed under probation and was caught speeding. search is underway for 43- year-old patrick pitner. authorities say he escaped from the spring grove hospital center in catonsville. he was arrested in st. mary's

county for carjacking, theft assault and stalking. authorities believe he may be attempting to return to southern maryland. anyone with information on his whereabouts, call 911. police have arrested a man they say he took off from the scene of a crash in white marsh. authorities searched off honeygo during this evening's rush hour that would be last night. no word on why the man fled from the crash scene and no injurieswere reported. the actress who played a killer in "the wire" will face charges on drug conspiracy charmings. she pled not guilty to drug charges. pearson is one of 64 people arrested in march as part of a state and federal sting called operation usual suspects. she is charged with conspiring with two men to sell heroin. former pg county executive jack johnson pled guilty to extortion and witness and evidence tampering. johnson was indicted in

february on charges that he accepted cash, campaign contributions and other gifts in exchange for heeling helping developers secure federal grant money. his wife leslie faces charges in the case. governor o'malley says he will sign a bill to shift energy generated by burning waste into a top tier category for renewable energy. environmental groups urged him to veto the bill saying it would weaken the commitment for renewable energy. the governor says tons of trash that will be dumped into landfills for the facilities as well. william donald schaeffer -- schaefer cared for us. according to his will, he will leave half a million dollars to his aide and the aquarium and the zoo. they will get money as well. long time friends get gifts as

now "good morning maryland" at 4:30. flood waters from the mississippi river continue to drench sections of land. as being sea here, flooding in redwood, mississippi shut down one of the major highways. state road official say u.s. route 61 will remain closed until further notice. other land nearby is flooded including a children's playground. that flooding is forced 15,000 people in mississippi to leave their homes. now maryland's most

powerful doppler radar and the forecast certified most accurate by weatherate. 4:39. you might be in a rush but stop what you are doing and come to the a tv and look at this. that looks like photo shop. but i've seen enough vantage points of the storm that's legitimate from matthew brill. that was near hagerstown and there was a tornado report around 8 last night. and the national weather service will go out and survey the damage. but that's an impressive wedge funneled lifting up from the ground. but, i may have to use that as my desk top of my computer. that's an impressive photop damage knocking down trees and lifted up a barn and that's pretty much all we have in terms of damage records. bands of rain continue across the area. the road are damp and traveling270, 70, 68 in western maryland, there's going to be heavy rain to be dealt w we have the potential of flooding

may. 63 baltimore, 44 in at lana and -- atlanta and montgomery, alabama. 46 in jackson, mississippi. so they are looking at temperatures almost 20 degrees coarld than we have here in bolt -- colder than we have here in baltimore across the deep south because of this large area of low pressure that throws cold air on the backside and warm air on the east side. you can see the moisture wrapping around. it's almost tropical in nature and it feels like it out there. you have the banding forms of rain and that's pretty must issue. we got between the bands yesterday while most us missed out on it. but locks like they are getting closer today and will be expecting to have more widespread showers and thunderstorms. check out the future radar. yesterday, it showed more widespread stuff. but it's a matter if you can sit up in line with the rain bands or in between them and i think just the way this sets up it's going to be luck of the draw. and maybe the luck will be in between not underneath them. but there will be locally heavy rain bands. and severe weather yesterday.
