beltway. five minutes. 59 southbound out of white marsh 6 minutes and the outer loop from 795 to 70, 7 minutes and 6 minutes between bel air and providence. only incident we have right now is 95 southbound before 216. cars are damaged by tire debris and the cars are over on the shoulder so. be careful if you are heading towards dc. >> thanks a lot. new information this morning on the pit bull attack that injured an elderly woman in greektown. this is a very disturbing story this early in the morning. but linda so is here with details on the injuries of the victim and how she is doing so far. >> reporter: well, she had to live through a nightmare. a relative says the good news is doctors at bayview medical senter were able to reconstruct her face but she remains in a lot of pain and it's going to be a long road to recovery. this is a picture of the one- year-old pit bull his name is blue. the attack happened friday evening when 78-year-old woman went out to a get her mail in the 700 block of ponca street.

the victim son-in-law posted an update on the facebook page to say she was conscious through the whole attack. the dog clamped down on her left arm and drag her down two flights of stairs and mauled her face and bit her ear and crushed her fingers. you can see some bloodstains on the sidewalk where the attack happened. henriette rouser owns the -- rouzer owns the dog and said fright night blue was with her son unleashed when all of a sudden he ran from the porch and scared the elderly woman. >> it was not on a leash and ran across the street and bit her. and draged her down to the sidewalk. >> reporter: the victim's family member says the dog also was not registered and had not received any shots. so she had to get a series of rabies shots. dog was taken to animal control and it will remain in quarantine for ten days and they will hold a hearing to see if the dog should be euthanized or returned to the owner.

history bigger. fire officials say the flames charred more than 160,000 acres and the fire has been burning through the forest and the brushlands for more than a week now. near the white mountain town of alpine. firefighters there still report zero containment. there's been mandatory evacuations in the area. authorities are investigating a tour bus accident in chicago leaving 20 people with minor injuries. that crash happened sunday night on the dan ryan expressway and state police say two vehicles collided in front of the bus causing that bus to hit one of the vehicles. the crash comes less than a week after another tour bus crash in virginia. that one killed 4 people and sent 50 to the hospital. in texas, law makers are considering a bill that would make airport patdown as crime. protesters rallied outside the texas state capital in support of the bill proin duesed by david -- bill inproduced by david simpson -- bill

the national oceanic and atmospheric administration released this image of joplin missouri. it shows the vertical -- the vertical picture of the radar sweeps from the weather event. incredible pictures when you see from the 3d image how bad it is. >> incredible. there was speculation there were two twisters in the storm thatcame through but there was only one that showed there. >> that's amazing. >> yeah. lynette you see something like that a storm like that is unbelievable to see isn't it is this. >> exactly right. and luckily we won't be seeing anything like that around here. so, we are look pretty good and dry in maryland's most powerful radar that will show you we have all five sweeps scanning the skies. not too much to scan as of now. checking out temperatures on the weathernet sites, we are looking pretty good this morning. nice mild temperature to towson coming in around 62. we should be at 58 degrees now for this time of the year so. not too bad. check out thomas point around 70 degrees. bowie at 61.

we are here on conway street n just a few hours crews will soon shut it down as part of a construction project for the baltimore grand prix. you can see the equipment is in place and they have barrels up and traffic delays are expect to intensify because of this construction project related to the grand prix. today conway street will be closed in both directions between light and charles streets. crews are breaking down the intersection in preparation for the grand prix to smooth the driving surfaces along the route. it will cause all kind of delays and frustration for drivers on their commutes. the baltimore grand prix is set for labor day weekend september 2nd through the 4th and expected to bring in big bucks and lots of exposure for baltimore. now you can head to the website at abc2news.com and if you would like more information on the construction project and more information on alternate rods. -- routes. reporting live in downtown baltimore, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. today the plane for the

miracle on the hudson is expected to make its way through maryland on the way to north carolina where it will live in a new seem. the airbus with the 155 passengers and crew survived the wreck that made chelsey sully sullenberger a household name. we understand the plan will -- plane will move 7 miles an hour or the trailer carrying the plane. it will be crossing the delaware memorial bridge around 10 this morning. once the plane reaches the baltimore area, it will head west on i-80 and 68 into west virginia. so if you see it, take time to take a look and admire it. a bit later, people opposed to the state's proposal to hike toll fees will gather at a restaurant figuring out how to stop it from happening a group of workers, fishermen, business people and elected officials are expected to get together around one at lindy's restaurant. just east of the hatem bridge in cecil county. new this morning,

volunteers will be restoring poplar islandch the island off the coast of tillman island is is on the eastern shore and it suffered severe erosion lately and is being restored with material that is dredged from the bottom of the bay to keep shipping lanes open. marsh grasses will stabilize the shoreline and fight the erosion while providing habitat for wildlife in the area. now maryland's most powerful doppler radar and the forecast certified most accurate by weatherate. >> hi. i am meteorologist lynette charles. now we should be around 80 for this time of the year for our high. our low should be around 58 degrees. the record low was set in 1996. it was 1997 rather it was 47 degrees. and 99 should be the record set in 1925. it was hot one and we could be setting more records as we go through the middle of the week into the end of the week. highs yesterday came in right around 83. not too bad there.

82 in winchester. york, pennsylvania around 79 and upper 80s in the charlottesville. so as we check out what's going on for the lows this morning, not too bad. you can see we are above average. 63 degrees into dulles and baltimore. 61 in easton and 55 into york. so feeling pretty good there in hagerstown coming in at around 61 and 57 into winchester. so the satellite and radar not picking up on a lot. high pressure is building in. clouds are sagging to the south and high pressure builds in here, oh, yes, we will get more of the northwesterly flow and we will have a nice day on tap so make sure you get out there and enjoy it because we will see more changes in the forecast going into wednesday, thursday and also into friday. future radar not picking up on a whole lot. 6:30 p.m. this evening, being see a slight chance for a shower in the forecast. but i do believe we will stay dry. that will stay more to the north and east of us. and then as we go through time, you can see wednesday, out there, still going to be on the

hot side. we will have lots of sunshine moving into the picture as well. so this is as it looks throughout the day. the temperature will be right around 84 degrees. ample sunshine in the forecast. it's going to be a nice day. and as we work into tonight, that temperature will be coming in right around 64. it's going to be mainly clear, quiet and mild. so temperatures a little bit above where we should be i showed you that temperature that should be around 58 degrees now for this time of the year. as we look at tomorrow, tomorrow is going to be even warmer. we are getting close to 90s. so once again it's going to be plenty of sunshine in the forecast. it's going to be warmer. and that uv index will be on the high side. so you need to put on the sunscreen. and make sure to protect yourself because you will get burned in matter of minutes. enjoy your day with the temperature coming in right around 87. >> reporter: looking at traffic on the major highways. we are incident free. traffic is flowing freely.
