congressman elijah cummings. he was fatally shot at his off campus apartment near old dominion. he will be -- the viewing will be held two days from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and continues friday morning. now a wake will be held on saturday at victory prayer chapel in baltimore. funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. on saturday. congressman elijah cummings says he was proud to call christopher family. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. a consumer alert this morning. nine people in maryland filed complaints with the government following a 55 million dollar settlement over bad drywall that came from china. banner supply company is located in florida and sells chie nice -- chinese drywall to homes. homeowners says it made their houses smell like sulfur and rotted their pipes behind the walls and turned everything black. a lawyer handling the case says there are likely no victims from maryland but some of the

starting tonight. sherrie johnson is here with new reaction to the center and how the city's mayor says it's going to help. >> reporter: well, the goal is to keep youth off the street and keep them safe and out of trouble. starting today the overnight curfew center will open thursday, friday and saturday each week until august 27th. the center opens at 11 p.m. on thursdays and midnight on other days. it closes each morning at 6 a.m. and children will be offered donated boxed meals while waiting for their parents to pick them up. this curfew senter's collaboration of several city agencies and it also holds parents accountable and provides families are access to city services. >> together the past three years we reduced juvenile homicide by 56% and juvenile shootings by 65%. this is not a cause for celebration. it's a cause -- it's a call for action. >> reporter: the center is located at the success academy at 200 east north avenue in

as all week going into the weekend. we have temperatures modifying in the ohio valley. we are 60 in baltimore and 63 in cincinnati. 76 in memphis. warm air trying to stroll in here. cluster of thunderstorms really fell apart as it dove to the south and widespread clout cover to the south this morning. one thing you will notice, there will be a wind chit and -- shift and a band of showers that's not very impressive. whoa may get a quick sprirchg ul but it will -- sprinkle but it will usher in higher humidity and warmer temperatures which is not great news after the nearly perfect weather. cloud are thickening up throughout the day. showers and thunderstorms try to get in during the afternoon and evening showers. we will start to see some of that and in fact we are looking for overnight showers and storms that will start the morning on the delmarva in ocean city. a break midday and we look for more storms to redevelop during the afternoon and we will deal with that. but pushing out of here good news saturday morning it gets out and we may get a brief push of dry air at the start of the race. the forecast in a moment.
