>> hot and hazy. you know what, we are feeling the 4th of july. but we have a chance for a few isolated thunderstorms but isolated is the key. we like that. it's possible we will see above normal temperatures and the storm chances continue after we go into wednesday, thursday and also friday. but check out maryland's most powerful radar as of now. we see the five sweeps on and we are looking at a few showers down to the south here. we zoom in and we can see showers around anne arundel county in between mayo and lexington park and cambridge a few showers across the area, and we will see possibly more of that throughout the day. be on the lookout heading out and about. take the rain gear in case. going into the afternoon and evening for your festivities we could see more of the same. we are looking pretty good with the wind speed as well. let's go back over to you guys. >> all right. thanks is a lot. new developments in the investigation into a deadly

fire in anne arundel county. we note names of the victims -- know the nation of the victims. roselia nolte remains in critical condition but her daughter was not so lucky. sherrie joins us with details. >> reporter: at last report, 84- year-old roselia nolte is in critical condition. a woman in her 60s died in that fire. the fire started around 1:30 saturday afternoon more than 60 firefighters responded to the two alarm fire onshore drive in edgewater. it took crews about 30 minutes to put out the fire. once they got inside, nolte suffered life-threatening injuries and the other woman was pronounced dead. neighbors say it was hard to see one man even jumped in to try to save them. >> it was all black and burned and it was incredible what she looked like. >> reporter: again that neighbor was taken to the

hospital for smoke inhalation after he tried to rest cute victims. investigators are trying to figure out what caused the fire. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. >> thanks a lot. another fire this morning. this one in sparrows point. baltimore county police got the call early sunday morning. it happened near the 2600 block of sparrows point road as fire crews pulled up and saw heavy flames. luckily, everyone inside made it out okay. at last check, no injuriesreported. that fire remains under investigation. 4:33. police want your help finding a shooting suspect this morning. the shooter is on the loose after a saturday night scuffle turned tragic outside club baltimore around 2:00 on saturday morning. officers found a large group of people along with a man who had been shot in the head and neck. he was taken to bayview medical center where he was pronouned dead. five people were arrest -- pronounced dead. five people were arrested for disorderly conduct and an officer was assaulted. a old idea is new again and

flown into a restricted zone. the president and the first family have been spending most july 4th weekend at camp david and authorities say they tried to contact the plane while in air, but the pilot never responded. so that plane was escorted to hagerstown where it landed. authorities questioned the pilot and they determined the entire thing was an accident. in new hampshire republican presidential candidate john hutsman spent the weekend campaigning. he mingled at a house party under the banner of the good old fashioned way. one person at a time. john huntsman is scheduled to hit another house party later today. 4:36. after a day of rest, it's back to the courtroom. >> the casey anthony trial going on today. what to exexpect in the closing arguments and -- what to expect in the closing arguments and when the jury will begin deliberations. it's not too late to make holiday plans. where to go and how to beat the crowd. we have the 411 when we come back.

now "good morning maryland" at 4:30. 4:39. a lot of folks had to change their plans sunday evening when the weather forced them to evacuate. check out the video of the nation's capital sunday night. trees are moving. the national mall had to be evacuated because of severe thunderstorms in the area. so, is rain going to be a factor in today's plans? let's find out with lynette charles to tell butts weather. >> now, maryland's cast certified most accurate by weatherate. >> hey, megan and everybody.

yes, we do have a chance a isolated shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon. isolated in nature that means everybody will not get the rain. speaking of the rain, as of now, it looks like things are drying out a little bit and fizzel out. that's good news. we are looking at temperatures in catonsville coming in at around 72%. still kind of humid and 80% humidity. wind out of northwest at 7 miles an hour. and check out hour by hour forecast. by the time we hit 9, we will be in the 80s. i am forecasting around 9 # for to.d it's -- 92 for today. it's going to be hot and humid and check out 4th of july forecast. fireworks around 9 p.m. and temperatures around 81 with a chance of showers and storms. the courtroom is expected to wrap up the closing arguments a nt fate of casey anthony heads to the jury. >> reporter: it was an intense

day in the casey anthony murderel trial as the prosecution and defense went head to head. >> she took her child, she took her life and she put her in the trunk and forgot about her. >> they will ask you to see things that aren't there and they will ask you to imagine fixsional science. it's a fantasy of forensics. >> it's been a long day. a long day yesterday, and it's going to be a long day tomorrow. we are close to the end. >> reporter: with closing arguments expected to wrap up this morning, now comes the question of what will happen when the jury heads into the deliberation room. >> it could be you know six getting this there and say absolutely first degree and the other six say no we don't think she did it we think it was an accident. she overchloroformed the baby by mistake and you could get a compromise. >> you can't predict what the jury will do but it's been an

five things to know before heading out the door this morning. gop presidential candidate mi they will bachmann is on the campaign trail make rounds in eye yeah. she is traveling throughout her home state on a bus tour after leaving eye yeah, she heads to des moines, and sioux city. and congressmaned that mccarter announced his official bid last weekend. he is currently the 5th term in the house and says he is a much need option for voters. his announcement makes him the third conservative member of the house of representatives to run for the white house. minnesota, the government still shut down this morning in budget talks are not set to resume until tuesday. those with security clearance to get inside say it's a political ghosttown. republican leaders say the shutdown was avoidable but with another week or two an agreement could be made. the nigerian man that

boarded a flight is ordered in custody. the judge refused bond. he used an expired boarding pass and was arrested in l.a. while trying to board a delta flight using another expired pass. the first family will celebrate the holiday by hosting military heros and families for a 4th of july celebration wabash cue and concert on the white house -- bash -- with a barbeque and concert on the white house lawn. today is all about celebrating independence day and the fires works. now as always, the inner harbor will be the place to be here in charm city. and linda so is live there with her spot set up. she's been waiting. you will have to wait for a while but you can tell us what to expect today. >> reporter: yeah, well, the sky here over the inner harbor will fill with up fireworks tonight. the show gets started at 9:30 tonight. but before that happens, there

will be a lot to do for the family all day long down here at the harbor. thousands rf ex-- thousands are expected to come down to celebrate. to make sure everyone stays safe, baltimore police will be out in huge numbers. like last year, they will get help from other jurisdictionss. they are not saying how many cops will be on patrol. last year 300 officers were around the harbor. the setup for the fireworks show has begun. two barges are stacked with more than 1400 shells. the fireworks show will last for about 18 minutes all synchronized to music. there will be a tribute to the national aquarium's anniversary. >> we have jellyfish for the aquarium's anniversary. we have half-moon shells and we have a stain glassed shell. >> reporter: again, the big show, the fireworks, will get started at 9:30 tonight. but before that happens, again, live entertainment all day long

you can find the information at our website, abc2news.com. we want you to say hello, to the new miss maryland. the 20-year-old north hagerstown high school grad says she entered pagents because as a senior at hood school neglect frederick, she needed scholarship money. her first big appearance will be at the 4th of july parade in washington, d.c. and by the way, winning the pagent netted her $10,000 in scholarship money which is nice. so congratulations to her. time for news around the nation. a member pis police officer and another -- memphis police officer and another person were shot at a downtown hotet. -- hotel. officers responded to reports of shots fired. the officer was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition but the police commissioner says it appears to be a domestic incident and the suspect is in custody. a shooting at rural home in

suburban philidelphia leaves a 2-year-old boy in a mass -- and a massachusetts man dead and critically injuring three other people. a house in douglas township 30 miles of northwest is where police spanned. -- responded. there's no suspect in custody and police have no description of the shooter. it was supposed to be a fun day on the river in northern utah and turned frightening for 16 rafters after being sucked under a bridge. they slammed into the brej along the weber river and went down. some of the rafters swan to safety and bystanders helped others get to dry land. a woman and a 2-year-old boy were taken to a hospital. both are expected to be okay. officials say the fact the group was wearing their life jackets across the board that's what saved their lives. now maryland's most powerful doppler radar and the forecast certified most accurate by weatherate. >> all right. weather is so important today. what do we have in the picture?

we had a few showers and thunderstorms that moved through yesterday and also early this morning. but now things look a little better trying to dry out some. but going into the afternoon time frame, there is another chance we have showers and thunderstorms to pop up. we have a cold front back off towards the west there. it's going to try to sag down into central virginia as we go throughout the day. it's going to stall out and that will be the focal point with showers and thunderstorms. you can see what i am talking about here. around 3 in the afternoon, we do see some showers and thunderstorms. looks like most will stay off toward the east around the eastern shore. so that's why i say that isolated -- why i say that is isolateded in nature. going into tuesday, a little drier and wednesday we will do it all over again with showers and thunderstorms. for today, though, that temperature will be right around 92 degrees. hot and hazy again. we have the isolated thunderstorms possible and then by tonight, the temperature coming in right around 68 degrees. patchy clouds and isolated showers will be in the picture. and by tomorrow that temperature coming in right around 90 and it will be mostly sunny and it will be a little

now "good morning maryland" at 4:30. exxon mobile under fire this morning. once again following tens of thousands of gallons of oil that spilled in montana's yellowstone river. a break in the company's pipeline near laurel contaminated miles of river bank and forced the toage of? -- stopage of anyone to use the river. exxon brought in more cleanup crews along the three sites. choppy river waters made the cleanup difficulty. rain helped firefighters battling the forest fire in new mexicoch the sunday weather gave 12,000 families the green light from authorities to finally head home. the fast moving fire approach the city and the nuclear laboratory. also sunday, authorities reported the fire started june 26th in northern new mexico when a tree fell on power lines. 4:57. prince william and kate
