father and son were walking down pratt street. he was shot in the leg. despite the police and the crowds, police have little to go on. both the commission are and the mayor addressed the media about last night's violence. >> these people who engage in these terrible and senseless acts of violence are cowards. we're not going to tolerate their cowardly behavior. >> the mayor is also referring to a deadly stabbing at pier 5. a 25-year-old from alabama stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle. the man has been identified as someone they want to speak with about the incident last night. violence on independence day wasn't limited to the inner harbor. in are roll county a man abducted an 8-year-old boy after

assaulting his mother. >> looked out the front window there and he was outside trying to grab the baby away from her. >> reporter: he had just returned when he heard a different kind of fireworks outside his sykesville home. he heard the screams of his neighbor. she proceeded to run. he grabbed her up and put her in like a head lock. they both fell to the ground. he grabbed the baby. >> reporter: the woman picked up the-year-old dawrgt and ran into -- daughter and ran into his home. that's when michael terrell took her 8-year-old son. >> he stopped off at a senior home in mt. airy, maryland and left the child. >> reporter: while word of the young boy's relief is welcome news, barbara lewis said she's had enough. >> very scary, very scary. we're in the process because

there's too much going on around here. >> reporter: police are still searching for terrell who neighbors say have a long history of beating his girlfriend and has served time behind bars after choking her. >> my mother was beat by my stepfather. i think she's done for it now. too much for kids. yeah, so i went through it my whole life when i was a kid. i know how this is. >> reporter: in carroll county, jeff hager. >> pay cording to neighbors, the suspect dropped the boy off at the lorraine nursing center with a sheet of paper with the mom's number scrawled on it. he is unharmed. he was last seen driving a oldsmobile sedan.

a suspect is taunting police from his hideout. police said jorge landeros had a relationship with sue marcum, a prof professor -- professor. landeros was the sole beneficiary of her life insurance policy. evidence likes dna points to landeros who has refused to return to the united states. landeros sent emails to police inviting them to a brunch in mexico. landeros even corrects detective's dram mar in the. mails. >> i don't know if i characterize it as a game. i think he's a confident person, confident when he's talking to me. professor marcum's friends said

the low 90s. the highest from annapolis south but humid in the northern part of the state. dew point's over 60. over 70 is with you have in the state capital. that is uncomfortable. our heat index values reflecting it. feeling like the mid-90s. bottom line, a pretty quiet pattern. last night most of the storms were rocking down in virginia. we missed out on most of the active weather for our fireworks. that was good but today north carolina getting in on the action. the whole boundary has shifted south of our state. often times the storms will fire up on top of that boundary or just south of that boundary. get a little outflow going. the storms are down in the carolinas, but this boundary is set to shift. the stationary fronts don't move but they do shift. it's set to shiest over maryland

tomorrow, certainly into thursday. one of the two days we'll see some storms focused on that boundary as it sits further north. our futurecaster is bearing that out. tomorrow, this is not an impressive line but points from carroll county westward could see afternoon showers and then if this computer model ends up right it can stall over central maryland up into new york and down towards richmond that could mean more storms thursday evening. we could use a little rain. for the year bwi just within an inch of our normal rain. 69, partly cloudy. tomorrow about 90. humidity will stay high. chance for thundershowers in the early evening. this time of the year the storms are heat driven. occasionally you can get an overnight complex coming through. right now we think there will be
