left lane is closed there as well. charley. >> thanks a lot. back to the big story for the morning and for likely days to come. outcome stirring for many of you and you're responding. casey anthony not guilty on the charges of murdering her 2-year- old daughter. >> after 10 hours, 40 minutes and 33 seconds, the-- of deliberating, the jury delivered a verdict which some say is just as shocking as the crime rs the nation trance fixed was left stunned by the verdict. >> as to the charge of first- degree murder, we the jury fine the defendant not guilty. >> reporter: not guilty of murder, manslaughter or child abuse for the defense there was relief. casey -- >> casey didn't murder caylee. it's that simple. and today our system of justice has not dishonored her memory by a false conviction. >> reporter: for casey facing four conviction for lying to

police and a sentence for up to a year nearly hysterical joy. >> she could confess and say i did it in a year from now, and it would be over. >> reporter: for her family her father and brother accused of sexually he molesting her her mother accused of causing caylee's death by leaving the ladder to the pool down and her father accused of disposing of the body silence. >> i don't know how the anthony family will recover from that. >> reporter: outside the courtroom the crowd that followed the nearly 3 year long case was stunned and angry. >> oh, my gosh. >> guilty. >> justice for kay leigh. >> reporter: a sense of justice denied. >> this is crazy. justice is when we wanted justice for caylee and we are not getting it. >> reporter: why the jury chose to aquit on all major counts, none of them would say. >> my guess is that these jurors felt that there was reasonable doubt. >> reporter: in the end it may have been the physical evidence. caylee's body was missing so long six months before it was

trial or hung around for the verdict, few of you would have predicted not guilty. the only conviction she receivedwas lying to police four counts of that. for additional insight we spoke with byron who says it's not always about the truth in the matters. it's about due process of law. >> we would rather have a guilty person go free than an innocent person be convicted. so if they did their job, they could say, you know what, i think the odds are 60 shall 0 she did it. and everyone thought -- 60/0 she did that. and everyone thought that and they still had to find her not guilty because the state didn't meet the burden. >> he says many convicted her before it went to trial. she could receive four years in prison for each of the guilty counts you but keep in mind she served close to three years.

lifeguards are not on duty every part of the day. they came on two hours later at ten and stayed for an 8-hour shift. this were nine lifeguards keeping an eye on the bay and when they leave the stand, the stands collapse and a warning sign about swimming goes up. >> i assumed a lifeguard was on duty during the park hours. this is new to me. >> we guard with lifeguards during the busiest time of the year when it is the most popular time for people to swim. >> several state parks in maryland with similar policies where lifeguards on duty but not for the time the park is open. changes may be coming following kennedy's drowning. it happened again, men knocking on a door claiming once again to be police officers. >> what city police are doing this morning to get the thugs to stop terrorizing people. and president obama will address questions from the public electronically. using one of the most popular forms of social media, we will tell you when it will take

when homeowners were sound asleep. suddenly three men with police bashs barge in and rob their home. when the fake officers got inside, they tied up the people and ransacked the house. authorities say the same thing happened on two other homes one at medford and the other in federal hill the city says they are not sure what they are dealing with here. >> unclear at this point if these are copy cats or this is a group of individuals. they are all across the city the three incidents we have so far so there's no correlation based on geography we can point to as of yet. >> reporter: now city police officers tell us that in this latest incident, no one was injured in this home invasion. reporting live in downtown baltimore, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. it's 4:48. home is -- hope is running out to find a missing boat here fell into the water over the weekend in the magothy river. james kane was last seen on the boat when the vessel took a

sharp turn and threw him and a friend overboard a boat picked up the friend but they couldn't find kane. carroll county sheriff officers are searching for a man wanted for the assault of a girlfriend and the girlfriend's 8-year-old son. it started monday night when the a-year-old michaelter -- 8-year-oldyear -- michael terrell tried abducted her 8- year-old son and took off. he reportedly dropped the boy off at a nearby nursing home. he is at large but the boy is doing okay. city officials worried violence after monday's 4th of july celebration could keep people away from inner harbor. despite the massive police deployment a. child was shot monday night at the intersection of pratt and light streets and he is expected to be okay. also, though a. man was stabbed in the neck and killed outside mccormick and schmick's. the mayor and police commissioner say they are

concerned about the impact of violence on future gatherings in baltimore downtown. >> there's no question it's challenge in the face of these two incidents. >> police are hoping someone can can id the person and call police with the information. a pennsylvania couple is charged with lock their 6-year- old son in his room for months. police say the child was only allowed to leave his room to go to the bathroom. police in western pennsylvania charged the mother and her boyfriend with false imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a child and conspiracy. he beat the boy with a belt leaving the body covered with bruises and welts. neighbors say they heard screaming and profanity coming from the house. a michigan man has been sentenced to jail for using medical marijuana even though he has a license for using the drug. he has a doctor's permission to help with hess ep lipsy but the -- epilepsy but the young isn't

the storm prediction center has southern maryland in a slight risk for severe weather. we are looking at the warm, moist air being ushered in across the area. check out the stationary front once again. it's going to be fluctuating across the area as it goes through today. that warm front is going to make us a little on the warm side as we go throughout the day as well. a lot to be prepared for. future radar picking up on showers and thunderstorms rolling into the afternoon. it's going to be one of those typical summer days for you. and that's the scenario even as we go into thursday and friday. we will do it all over again. keep the rain gear around. so for today, that temperature right around 92 is going to be hot and humid again. again the showers and thunderstorms possible in the forecast. that will stick around going into the evening. the warm and balmy temperatures will stick around for the evening and that temperature is coming in around 70. and then by tomorrow, yeah, we will do it all over again with the temperature coming in around 90. and humidity is going to stay

alberta, an area damaged by wild fire in may. they will meet with residents whose lives have been affected by the fires. following that, they will end their 9-day visit at alberta's calgary stampede on friday before leaving for california. this morning, 7 people are missing after the boat capsized in the gulf of california. it all happened after a sudden storm sunday night. one person has been confirmed dead and rescue efforts have been huge. mike say mong those who helped rest -- among those who helped rescue some of the people. >> we are not a savior. we are normal people and i said my prayers on that thing and particular six americans that are lost. it was nice we were able to help a bunp of fellow americans and mexican nationals to at least give them a little home and it's nice to see everything came together to get the families and people reunited again. >> sadly officials say they are close to presuming the missing are amonth dead. -- among the dead.
