after a terrorizing trip. jeff hager joins us with the details. well, the victim just stopped off at a store in south west baltimore and got out of her car. a man jumped behind the wheel aattempted to drive away. the woman dove in the car and in this video from outside the citgo, you can see the stolen car taking off throughout the parking lot. the driver struck a trooper's car on i-95 and then drove 100 miles per hour with his lights off on the capital beltway. officers boxed in the vehicle. there was actually a passenger that was flailing their arms outside of the window looking like she was screaming for help. something was going on. >> reporter: the car slowed down to 20 miles per hour and the victim bailed out with her

baby rolling across the highway. the officers caught up with the man. the mother and baby were treated and released from a d.c. area hospital. the man is being held facing traffic charges. criminal charges of carjacking and kidnapping await him in baltimore. all right, thank you, jeff. well, a family ask mourning -- family is mourning after the death of a 2-year-old from a crash. she was thrown from a car after it hit a tree last night. the 2-year-old was taken to the hospital and later died. it's not known if the child was in a car seat. the police are investigating the crash a brooklyn, new york neighborhood is in shock over the death of an 8-year-old boy. this was an awful story, jamie. >> reporter: it's terrible.

the funeral drew thousands of mourners. parts of the boy's body were found in his home. a little wooden casket carried away with grief. this is the last time we hear a thing like this. he was going to be 9 next week. during his 7 block walk home from camp on monday, his first day making the trip alone, he was abducted by a stranger and brutally killed. this is every parent's night mare. this type of incident is rare. >> his disappearance set off a frantic search. the police got the break through this video. you can see him walking behind a man now identified as a 35- year-old. he asked for directions and

aaron takes the boy away in his car. at 2:30 wednesday morning, the cops entered the man's apartment. the man nodded towards the kitchen and blood was on the freezer handle. in a confession, he said he panicked and smothered him and dismembered his body. he lead the police to his body. those who know him point to the death of his mother as a breaking point. >> he had a nervous break down. you have to be crazy to do that. >> reporter: the police are investigating aaron to see if he's involveed with more cases involving missing children. all right, thank you. well, tonight, the police are searching for a second suspect in the abduction of an 8-year-old boy. one suspect is in jail tonight. the documents show that the

father received calls and texts from a phone registered to a 20- year-old asking for $500 in ransom. his phone was tracked to a chair. he and others planned on taking the boy to get money. the police are searching for taylor tonight. this baltimore man is in jail arrested for an attempted bank robbery. he's charged with setting off on alarm. the harford county sheriff's office says that another suspect got access to a vacant building next door to the bank and kicked a hole in the wall. the suspect set off the alarm and investigators are still searching for the second suspect. >> we're seeking the second suspect. there's a driver and he was described as being in a dark

from verizon. they don't realize they may have signed up for extra channels and add ons. >> keep notes and pay attention to what you're signing up for and make sure you're getting charged for only what you're signing up for. we're investigating now. >> reporter: if you're in howard county, you can file complaints at the county's website. he's also urging anyone else to contact the attorney general. verizon issued a statement, it says, our reps are trained to summarize the customer's order at the end of the call. also, we work with customers to explain bills with questions and if a problem happens, we'll resolve it with the customers. well, it's lady's night in columbia. tonight, the columbia mall is hosting its third girl's night out. you can check out fashions and

well, the nominationings for the 63rd prime time emmys were announced in los angeles. two native, josh charles and july bowen earned nods for acting. >> amc's "madmen" came out on

top with 19 nominations including one for best dram match "madmen's" one for the past three years. all six of "modern family's" actors were nominated. betty white continued her blazing run for nomination of best supporting actress in a comedy. the biggest surprise may have been this nomination for best actress in a comedy. no one was more shocked than she was, she was up early to announce the nominations. >> melissa mccarthy. >> oh, my gosh! yeah!

towson, you notice the trees shaking in the breeze. well, this is north wind. there's plenty of wind to catch the sail. great blue sky weather. awesome pictures across maryland today. we're all clear on the radar. we have one acception, that's not in the state. you see this little sea breeze coming off of the atlantic. we have a slight shower from dover that may hit you in northern carroll county. don't be shocked. most of us won't see anything. 82 at the airport and 84 at hagerstown. that's going to be a fantastic weekend in the high country. they're like in the 60-degree range in some spots towards garrett county. all of us are feeling the low humidity and comfortable conditions.

as we look at the forecast, federal hill, 87 and lots of sunshine. brewer's hill, 86. clear across the region. we'll continue to be clear over the next several days. you'll notice that the humidity will come back up towards the second half of the weekend. i think that tomorrow, it will be a carbon copy of the day. it's a clear pattern across the east coast. we have a few clouds streaming in the upper levels. the high pressure keeps us mild and dry. the hot, humid conditions bottled up to the south. you can see, it's up near charlotte and nashville. they're steamy, there the dry air is in place from virginia and up north. the future caster is showing a few clouds tomorrow. it's a great friday and not different for baltimore and the beaches. come saturday, we have a high
