army personnel. 30 americans and 8 afghans killed. the helicopter was on the way to help ground forces, part of a mission to secure a high value target and they were shot down. the incident raises questions about whether forces should travel in a helicopter of its kind. >> the fact that we lost the aircraft is not a decision point as to whether we'll use it in the future. >> reporter: yesterday, president obama paid his respects to the soldiers traveling to the air force base as the remains were brought home. >> reporter: the investigation into the crash can'ts. -- continues. the pentagon will soon release the names of the 30 americans killed. the johns hopkins student hit by an elderly driver died this morning. he was an undergrad with the whiting school of engineering before the accident.

now, the two men accused of the beating of a giant's fan pleaded not guilty. they didn't speak in court, they were both charged on the incident. prosecutors are trying to prove that this was part of a series of beatings that night. passengers on an american airline lease flight ended up in south carolina from miami to washington. several were hurt, forcing an emergency landing and a trip to the hospital for some. >> it felt like an amusement ride when going down. we shot back up and came back down. it felt like an amusement ride. i don't like those. it wasn't very fun. >> reporter: the pilots managed

to get the plane down in charleston. the flight attendant and some passengers were treated for injuries. they were taken there a storm and the plane is checked for damage. tractor trailer crashes aren't exactly uncommon. it's not every day that you see something like this. this crash shut down a houston, highway. they're trying to find out how the truck's cab got away from the bed. however it happened, it made for a huge traffic back up. some couldn't help but look at that thing. well, it wouldn't be everyone's first thought in an emergency. a fisherman pulled out his camera and the boat started sinking. they managed to find the radio and life jackets. nearby boaters rescued all three of them. well, doctors say we need to limit the caffeine we drink,
