of education of baltimore county and county executive, kevin cam nant. students at 13 schools had another week off because of power outages from hurricane irene. staff and students are ready to focus on teaching and learning. all baltimore county students h have to make up the days missed. the state board of education will determine if last wednesday, thursday, and friday will be waived for the remaining schools. the tour kicks off at perry hall elementary at 8:55 and coming up, we will hear a little bit about what some parents have to say about the delays with starting school because of the power outages. sherrie johnson, abc 2 news. it's been 3 months since chris cummings was shot at his off campus apartment in virginia. no one has been charged. congressman elijah cummings

baltimore county school superintendent, will make a stop here this morning. all baltimore county schools are scheduled to open today. students had a delayed start to the school year because of hurricane irene. dr. harrisston decided to celebrate students return with a visit today and plans to visit 7 along with members of the board of education of baltimore county and county executive. students had an extra week off thanks to the power outages. the storm knocked out power to 65 schools in baltimore. bge brought in 2300 extra workers from 18 states, it's the largest effort since isabelle in 2003. with that, some parents question bge's efforts. >> they did their best, but i think they could hire for contractors. >> reporter: see little welcome
