roderik dantzler was accused of killing seven people in one day. got in a white suv. what you're about to see here, the car starts pulling over to the side. you think okay, this isn't going to be a very long chase. no. that's not what's going on. willy cunning ham, the suv owner, bales out of the car, dantzler takes over the wheel and continues. he pulls into the turn lane. there's a lot of traffic going on. the cop rams his suv and then this cop with the dash cam rams him again. he keeps going. and now he's going downtown on the wrong side of the road. >> this is like a scene from like "grand theft auto." >> this is completely nuts. this chase went on for hours. >> after he leaves the downtown area, he heads to i-96, one of the busiest highways in the area.

>> it's amazing he hasn't hit anybody yet. >> he crosses through one of the emergency vehicle access areas and then goes the other way up an exit ramp going the wrong way down i-96. >> looked like he just purposely bailed off the side of the road here and drove into a ditch. >> he fled the car and ended up taking three hostages while they had a standoff with police. he did not kill the hostages, but he did kill himself. it was 100 degrees over the weekend in phoenix, but yesterday completely different story. the weather got down to 69 degrees at night. why? because they had severe weather roll in. it caused three separate pileups on the interstate 10 south of phoenix, and as you can see in this video here captured by our

affiliate abc 15, you can see the extent of the damage. >> the dust storms just pop up and blow across the highway. oh, my gosh. that's almost like a fog, fog. >> there was so much dust, zero visibility. 27 cars total involved. one accident happened closer to phoenix. the other two pileups were about 60 miles south of the valley. >> i understand that they had trouble airlift something of the injured to hospitals because they couldn't get choppers up because of the dust storm in the area. >> that's right. you could see all the emergency vehicles there. it closed the freeway in both directions. traffic affected for hours. here's the thing, that's not the only inclement weather they had in phoenix. in the northwest valley of phoenix, somebody caught this on video. eric beatty posted this video. he says during the video, the barometric pressure dropped from 29.9 to 29.7. winds became very strong.

there was no rain, no wall of dust. he said what you see is just this huge dust devil. >> you can't see through that. that gives you an idea of what gets blown across the road, and how qckly it can happen and just how quickly you lose your siht miles an hour, those speed limits are, people jam on the brakes and that's what causes those pileups. it's sad. >> you guys ready for some reptile rescue footage? >> yes. i love reptiles. >> this little guy here is a baby american alligator. he was found in the dumpster of a hamilton waste water treatment plant and they assume that someone possibly flushed this little guy down the toilet. they're washing him with dawn. >> giving him a bath, looks like. >> he's only about 11 inches long and they estimate that he's probably around six months old. this alligator was rescued in cincinnati, ohio.

what? where they evidently rescue a lot of reptiles. we have the director of arrowhead reptile rescue in cincinnati, ohio. his name is damon oxer. do you all have a huge reptile population? >> about 75% of the reptiles we rescue are actually pets. a number of avenues you can legally acquire a baby alligator. >> how long will it take for that thing to be full grown? >> about a foot a year when they're well cared for. they'll reach maturity about 20 years of age. >> how do you think he survived that trip being flushed down the toilet through the sewer. >> they're good in the water, they can hold their breath a long time. where we are surprised he wasn't injured is when he went through the waste treatment facility, they have a lot of machines that they -- the waste products go through to filter out debris and he was scraped up in one of those into the dumpster they found him in. >> how long will you hang on to him and do you release him back into the wild somewhere? >> we will keep him a year and then take him to a wildlife sanctuary in florida.

friends that in augusta, maine, dog park, antifreeze found in doggy water bowls. >> someone is trying to kill dogs with an itty freeze and nails in dog treats. people were circulating this on their twitter, facebook and tumbler accounts, copying that message saying friends look out, posting on facebook, saying check this out, this is horrible. it didn't happen in chicago or massachusetts or in maine. this happens a lot on facebook and twitter. these quotes and pictures get completely taken out of context. >> what is this really a picture of? >> this is really a picture from a website in argentina from an article that was published in july. it was an isolated incident, one time, all of a sudden now a few months later it's getting circulated. watch out in your dog park. it looks like it could be real. >> can't blame the people who are hard core dog owners who say watch out for this or spread the word. i don't a dog but i love dogs. if this was true i would want

people to know about it. >> i am a hard core dog lover and if i see something like this i'm going to do my research and figure out if it's, in fact, law. >> leave it to you and our crack team to squash this rumor. not true. >> no nails in cheese. by now you've probably heard the story or seen the video of the helicopter crash yesterday in new york city went down near 34th street in the east river. it was a bell 206 helicopter. the crash happened around 3:00 p.m. there were five people aboard the helicopter and reports say this helicopter was actually giving a tour. some video coming to us from cbs news on-line. what i want to show you is video from new york city's office of emergency services. it's hard to tell who are the rescuers and who is being rescued in the video. there's one red inner tube that's submerged and them all clutching on to life preservers as they're being pulled out of the water. it looks like a barrel of

look at this little guy. this is a bear cub in pennsylvania and he's raiding a bird feeder. you see him stick in his nose, he sticks in his paw, licks his paw to make sure he's gotten all of the food from the bird

feeder. then you see him start to climb down the rail. you think okay, he's going to leave. but he pokes his head back up. he's coming up for more. the family that owns this home eventually had to call police who had to chase this bear cub away from the home using a cup of ammonia. cute little guy. there's a new sport out that might make you question whether these extreme sport people are sane. >> you can hold together a car fender or [ inaudible ] beating the [ bleep ] out of each other. >> that was art davey who started ufc and now starting a new thing called x arm. looked like an arm wrestling table and their arms duct tape and the other arm like pounding each other. >> i was ready for arm wrestling. neat, extreme arm wrestling.

by a director and photographer ryan hughs. >> the concept was to trigger 40 cameras simultaneously, capturing a peak moment of action in 360 degrees. >> the prompt is divided into two parts. you have the ballet 360 which is dancers from the canada nashlt ballet school and club 360, dancers from the the north bucks [ inaudible ]. ♪ we actually have the director of the photographer behind this project, ryan hughes. ryan, why pick crumping and ballet? >> i work a lot with dancers and i'm really attracted to dances in art form and i like different genres of music. i thought it would be interesting and unique to bring them together for this one project. >> what is crumbp? >>. >> it's an artform that constantly is evolving. i saw a lot of parallels in the way i like to work. a lot of experimentation.

look at this little guy. this is a bear cub in pennsylvania and he's raiding a bird feeder. you see him stick in his nose,

he sticks in his paw, licks his paw to make sure he's gotten all of the food from the bird feeder. then you see him start to climb down the rail. you think okay, he's going to leave. but he pokes his head back up. he's coming up for more. the family that owns this home eventually had to call police who had to chase this bear cub away from the home using a cup of ammonia. cute little guy. there's a new sport out that might make you question whether these extreme sport people are sane. >> you can hold together a car fender or [ inaudible ] beating the [ bleep ] out of each other. >> that was art davey who started ufc and now starting a new thing called x arm. looked like an arm wrestling table and their arms duct tape and the other arm like pounding
