accident on the inner loop cleared out at frederick road. this is 95 north of white marsh boulevard. most volume is southbound to the left of the screen. no incidents to report northbound which is pretty light at this time of the drive times are doing fine because of the light traffic. harrisburg expressway is five minutes and 6 minutes 95 out of white marsh to the beltway bel air to providence 6 minutes and 75 is to 70 had take 7 minutes. baltimore county county schools superintendent joe hairston is stepping down. sherrie johnson is here with details. this announcement came and he is not in the city is he? >> reporter: that's right he is on the west coast in oregon. but it's a chance to speak with baltimore county schools spokesperson last night and after 12 years on the job, baltimore county schoolssuperintendent dr. joe hairston says this will be the last year e made the announcement late yesterday afternoon. he is out west and is scheduled to return to towson today. no reason is being given as to why he is leaving but on

tuesday the school board voted not to give him a new 4-year deal. his last day will be when his contract expires on june 30th of next year. under heirston's leadership county schools have seen rising being a dem being achievement. the school board will begin the process of find agnew superintendent -- finding a new superintendent immediately. news his tenure would end in june was not expected. and his departure leaves a void in one of the largest school systems in maryland. he will have served 3 -- searched 3 terms. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. 5:35. looking at news around the nation. the parents of a missing 10- month-old missouri girl smatched from her crib are making a public statement today. police said the couple stopped cooperating on the investigation. jeremy irwin and debra bradley didn't speak to the media after a press conference and relatives insisted it never stopped. vilents moments at the occupy wall street protest.

amateur video shows a white shirted police officer striking someone in front of the crowd with a baton. this is the third week of the occupy wall street demonstrations. which protest the current economic system but this is not the first time there's been trouble. police arrested 700 people during a march on the brooklyn bridge sunday. what happened is they were on the bridge backed traffic up for hours. so they were arrested. there's allegations police brutality after an officer pepper sprayed a group of women for marching on police an amish mob is accused of breaking into homes and cutting off beards and hair of op i been men. they are focusing on four police investigations in ohio. police say the assaults were the work of members of a clan in one attack they allegedly packed a horse drawn buggy to a home and cut off the hair of men and women in the house. the violent hair crust meant to humiliate and punish those supposed to be or allegedly weak in their faith. it's not something you

now "good morning maryland." a massive sink hole opened in san diego and part of the collapse was caught on camera. it happened near the university of california, san diego campus. police closed off parts of the road surrounding the school to keep the cars off the roadway. officials are trying to determine what caused the collapse. a ruptured storm drain could be the culprit in the whole thing. time for a check of the forecast. justin you are loading everything up. and a lot of people will be thinking about cold weather and things cooling off a little bit. is that 39 i see in towson. >> that's 39, sir and that's not the coldest number we have. ellicott city showing up 38 degrees.

okay. that's it. we have 40s out there. 41 bel air. still a lot of people enjoy running. i spoke with sherry yesterday on my relay team for the baltimore marathon and she loves to get out early in the morning and the weather doesn't slow her down and people in charm city get out around this time and do their jogs and it doesn't matter. this is easier than running in you know 70, 80 degree heat over the summer. 50 by the bay. and warmer right along the chesapeake. cooler inland. but overall, we have a quiet one and winds themselves will be relatively light. we will watch the wind shift out of the south over the weekend that will warm us up. frost in southern prk a. most us in the mid-40s to mid-50s and back to 74 with sun this afternoon. let's go to the roads with tanya. >> reporter: bus and rail services are on time. according to mta, no marc service on monday due to columbus day. let's look out there to see how traffic is moving along with the live traffic cameras. 95 at 175, moving well.

now "good morning maryland." if you looking for a good time it's oktoberfest. corinne redman is out there a show has a beer in hand. it's 5:00 somewhere. >> reporter: i do. it is charley and i must say this is probably the biggestbeer i've ever held. it's because it's baltimore beer week. and it's oktoberfest. it's the 10th anniversary of oktoberfest and with me is greg who is in charge of the entire convenient. you put it on every year or. >> every year. we have done it for ten years. we sat down with the maryland brewers 10 years ago and put together a great idea. and now for the past three years we have had the baltimore beer week as you've said. last night was the opening tap celebration and throughout the week you will have events.

to drink responsibly. >> absolutely. always drink responsibly. thanks a lot. maryland and federal emergency management officials are beginning a series of briefings for hurricane irene disaster aid applicants and the first is set for today in willsiamport. ice is for local and state governments -- it's for local and state governments and nonprofit groups but not household individuals. state and federal emergency management official will help those participants file for federal disaster assistance as needed. today is a day to do good. the 11th annual community service day is being held on 13 buses to do volunteer work at 25 different organizations across the city area. the staff says this is a day that inspires students to consider careers that have been previously overlooked. and it's a national historic site and it's in danger. today a baltimore man will try to save the poe house. he is staging a one man play to keep the house open to the

looks virtually cloud free going for 74 degrees this afternoon. that's a little warmer than yesterday which ended warmer than expected. and we are looking at temperatures that stay well above normal for the next four to five days. 45 overnight. chilly but that's just because of the lack of humidity. we get close to the dew point and could see patchy fog at daybreak and when we have dry air that allows us to warm up nicely into the afternoon, 78 to deal with sun on saturday. 82 on sunday. and people are doing camping this weekend. they are going to have some fun. and it should be pleasant. in fact, it's early this week it gets a little hot as the warmups are warmer than expected. we are jumping the curb and pushing 85 on monday. still near 82 tuesday and latestom and we could get a rain event coming in here at the end of next week pulling back into the lower 70s. tan why. >> reporter: in howard -- tanya. >> reporter: in howard county a accident cleanup 95 northbound at 32 partially blocking the right off-ramp as well.

let's look at the beltway. this is on southwest side of frederick road. steady traffic in both directions. earlier broken down clar is clear from the inner loop. 895 at harbor tunnel, we have normal operations. we did have the traffic stopped a few minutes ago. so we have residual delays southbound delays up to o'donnell and northbound to shell road. but all of those delays are easing. drive times are doing okay for the most part. 83 southbound from shawan to the beltway five minutes and outer loop bel air to providence, of minutes and 795 to # 0, 7 minutes. what kind of changes could be made during a 10-year period. afghan women will say tremendous ones. things have never been better and they say it has a long way to go. doh! p mays my -- that's my horme simpson. today he and the rest of the crew may have to make a huge decision regarding their careers. and the future of television's longest running show. you are watching "good morning maryland" what's new, now and
