maryland. this will run through 9:00 unless it's canceled ahead of schedule that is always a possibility. but you see multiple tornado warnings in south central south virginia, well south of the washington d.c. area. so it's one of the reasons that we're continuing to watch a warm front set up that can potentially lead to rotating storms and briefs spinoffs of tornadoes. this is the cluster that triggered this weather. this cell is we cannenning some but -- weakening some. but still packing a lot of lightning here. you see the lightning strikes up along the washington d.c. beltway that is just ugly. but you see this storm overspreading the western part of washington and montgomery county. and we put a storm track on one of these cells, you see it's not rotating. but they're stale hailer -- still hailers.
6:18 pm
so hail to three quarter an inch. and the storm realititively low. -- relatively low. but it still bears watching. check out some of the current conditions out there. 70 degrees and winds southeast at ten miles an hour. and humidity is up around a hundred percent. that is what we've seen all day, murky and muggy and ugly weather. we did see a little bit of late day clearing in the annapolis area and frederick. it's one of those days and october days of changing weather. down closer to where the storms are moving through in arlington, you see a brief clearing and you see the skies a little more ominous. much cooler north and west and much warmer from baltimore dulles south. we had a high near 80 in easton today. so it is the warm front boundary draped over the state
6:19 pm
that is createing that focusing area for potential storms and isolated strong ones. the humidity helps fuel the storms and as we look to the west, more heavy weather out in west virginia, extreme western pennsylvania and there's a cluster here down on the lower part of the eastern shore of virginia that may pack quite punch as well. so more storms and more moisture feeding up out of south. and we have to keep the watch for some of these to become fairly intense over the next few hours. and a very messy setup across the east right now. warm air surging in and the warm front staying in october and fall sometimes. you never trust a warm front. they don't cause the widespread storms that cold fronts do, they do often trigger the isolated rotating storms. and the second front to the west, this is the one that will bring in another round of showers and maybe storms tomorrow afternoon. but also clear us out into friday night and into saturday. take a look at our future
6:20 pm
trend. some hit and miss storms overnight and then another round comes in tomorrow afternoon and it could affect your friday afternoon commute. but quick clearing by friday night. we should be in the dry slot and i think things stay nice and dry. there's still a new disturbance churning out over the south atlantic and this could mean another tropical storm, about a one and three chance of that disturbance off florida. 60 with showers tonight with fog. tomorrow 7 # -- 72 with showers and maybe a form. that storm will come in late tomorrow night. if you're out late, be ready to feel the change with you walk out of your favorite establishment. things look good for the ravens on sunday. >> foggy night. thank you. we have a new warning about children's booster seats. it turns out that booster seats may not be doing their jobs. they're designed to lift kids
