monday, october 17th. i'm charles crowson. let's get over to justin berk with the latest on your first day of the workweek forecast. this is the gill man school, 58 degrees. and we're looking at temperatures officially for baltimore at 60. not a bad start to the day after what was a nice weekend. i hope you had a chance to get out and enjoy t a lot of people -- enjoy it. a lot of people told me how they benefited from the gorgeous weather this weekend. and 50s on the north and west side. and that 39, that is behind a frontal boundary and there's cold air out there with snow north of the border. but this couple waves of cool air this frontal boundary is falling apart. we'll look at basically a mid- week storm to end this nice stretch. but we have an extension of the weekend and mix of clouds and more sun in the afternoon and a breeze picks up.

were safety concerns before the race ever started. >> reporter: during practice some were worried about the high speed of the track. drivers were clocking in at 225 miles an hour. the people that saw the crash say it was the worst crash they had ever scene. it was the final race at the las vegas speedway. dan wheldon was trying to win a share of a $5 million bonus and his car flew over another on lap 11 and crashed into a wall. 15 cars were involved in the pile y he was a two time indy 500 winners. fellow drivers and fans are mourning that terrible loss. >> i think i'm getting old. i've seen too many of these already. you ask anybody, if they could choose a way to ghoorks is the way. >> we're going -- to go that is the way. >> we're all going to miss him.

>> reporter: wheldon who was 33 had scaled back on the racing to spend more time with his family. he had a wife and two sons, a 2- year-old and baby born in march. occupy wall street movement is one-month-old and continues growing in cities around the country. bank accounts are going up too the group staged rallies during the weekend to protest corporate green they arrested 14 people -- greed. they arrested 14 them new york. the movement so far has raised more than $300,000. one woman in oregon said that she deserves an apology when she and her daughter were kicked off a bus. this is the driver walking back to the back of the bus to the woman and her 2-year-old. the driver told her that if she could not keep her child from

crying, the driver could not drive and pay attention. >> other passengers left the bus too. and the driver was disciplined. and the woman said that she would like an apology. someone hacked into "youtube" on the packaging sesame street and -- page of sesame street and replace elmo with x rates movies. there's no immediate response to the hackers from pbs or google which, owns "youtube." a christian group is promoting a faith baseddish enough based way to halloween to jesus wean. they're asking kids to knock on door and share the message of christianty instead of just asking for candy. >> for many christian that's

on this monday. we have the latest on the search for a missing maryland boy. and there will be a special session convening today in annapolis and speed cameras will be going into operation today. and tonya has your traffic. but let's get over to justin berk. baltimore is trout today after a -- is proud today after a beautiful weekend and successful baltimore running festival. we had beautiful sunshine and beautiful race this week. we had 50s in annapolis and 57 in columbia and 54 in westminster. the showers to the northwest, they're falling apart. we have a mix of clouds and sun this morning. we'll get to 69 by lunchtime. we'll have a breeze and more sun at 74. we have a mid-week storm to talk about. but first let's talk traffic. 275 southbound at 45, we

have a report of a broken down car. taking a live look at the beltway. it's moving well at frederick road and the outer loop is the oncoming traffic. you'll see a slowdown at liberty road. 695 on the innerloop, we had a broken down car on the intonight i left of your screen. we have heavy volume in both directions. outer loop is very slow. a search took part in two montgomery parks this past weekend for william mcquain. his mother, jane mcquain was found murdered in her condo last week what did they find? >> reporter: the police spent yesterday combing through two parks near william's home. even though they were searching for his body, the hope is that he will be found alive. state authorities said they gathered information that led them to the parks. county, state and local police

assisted the search. he was last seen two weeks ago. his mother, jane mcquain, was found stabbed and beaten to death in her germantown condo they have arrested her ex- husband, curtis lopez, and charged him with murder. but there's still no sign of william. something that still puzzles neighbors. >> you don't think something like that is going to hit in your hometown. i hope they find him. i hope they find him alive. >> >> reporter: investigators said they're still developing all leads in this case. baltimore county police are looking for information into a job buy shooting. it happen in the afternoon at a community center in turner station. a fight spilled out into the streets and someone opened fire on several people. three people were shot. and one person suffered a leg injury. everyone is expected to recover from the wounds.

also, three men recovering after being stabbed at a bar. it happened at the seahorse in on saturday night. no word on what led to the stabbings. baltimore city police are verdicting the death of a -- investigating the death of a woman. they're trying to determine how a woman in her early 20s died. her body was found sunday morning in a dumpster on charles street. there's no signs of trauma to the woman's body. you'll need to pay a little more attention and take your foot off the gas going through many school zones. the speed cameras are going into operation today. they're going up quickly? >> reporter: that's right. they're in place and ready to go. howard county authorities are cracking down on speeders. take a look behind me. we're actually in the 6,000 block of kmart drive in columbia near evers hill

elementary school. you see fines doubled when the lights are flashing. traffic is pick up this morning. and we can see some people are moving a little bit fast. but they want to slow it down. the county council approved a bill in may to put speed cameras in some county school zones. eight of the cameras are up and working today. some councilmembers expect more than a million dollars to be generated from the speeders and some of the other locations include fallly quarter road and frederick road, cedar lane and ten oaks road. those are some of the other place where's they have speed cameras. they were supposed to be turned on early october, like october 3rd. but they pushed the start date back to today because they needed more time to make sure that the equipment was up and reasoning properly. drivers going 12 miles an hour or moreover the speed limit will receive a $40 fine and get
