injured, and one arrest after a violent weekend. on any given afternoon this area is packed with young men playing ball. sunday was no different. whether this was the game or something else that startedded it, a free for all fight broke out. the fight left the court and wound up at fleming and main about a block or so away. this man, who didn't want his name used said he was walking home when he said things just got crazy. >> a lot of shots rang out. crowded. at least 15, 20 people out there. >> reporter: when police arrived that crowd was just a handful of injured people. >> they found three adult male victims all in their early 20s to early 30s.

our detectives are still investigates. >> reporter: witnesses say there were a lot of small children playing in the streets. police are still trying to figure out who would open fire on a crowded street. meantime, while police are searching for suspects in the main street shooting they believe they found their man in the stabbing on wise avenue. two got stabbed and the suspect took off. police say they now have their man. >> we have since identified and charged adam church. he's 21 years old as being responsible for the stabbing. he's being charged with attempted murder and first degree assault. >> the two stabbing victims were treated and injured. the three men suffered non-life-threatening injuries. anyone with information about that case is urged to call police. the amber alert is still out

for the missing 11-year-old. still, nobody knows where william mcquain is. they are checking land near com staid drive. williams has been missing for two weeks. his mother was found dead last week. her husband was arrested in north carolina, charged with her mother. curtis lopez could be coming back to maryland soon. baltimore police confirmed that a body found in a dumpster is that of emily hauze, 21. there were no signs of trauma to her body and the death is not ruled suspicious at this point. now let's go to aruba where a judge once again turned down the request of the gaithersburg mail to be released in the

murder of robyn gardner. authorities are investigating the case. his lawyers claim there is still not enough evidence to hold him and will try to get him out at the end of the month. prosecutors say they will seek to extend the order. the general assembly reconvened for a special session to redraw the state's congressional districts. it started with governor martin o'malley defending it, calling it balanced and fair. the republicans in the statehouse disagree saying the governor's plan is slanted to only help democrats. >> politics seem to be the overriding concern, not citizen rights, not communities that come together. >> the general assembly still has to approve the new congressional district and the governor would like to find unnecessary rules from the state's regulatory process to

help spur job groasmght he -- growth. the normal session will start in january. however, the governor announced a 60-day review period. the hearings will focus on infrastructure and transportation needs. the governor also says he is considering an increase on gas tax. the plan would be 15 cents a gallon. the plan could raise $800 million a year in new revenue for transportation projects. all right. plenty of sunshine today. all you need was the sun shade. maryland's most powerful radar is dry. we are scanning the skies, not finding anything. what we're looking at are

pleasant temperatures. 70 into frederick. upper 60s into hagerstown and into winchester. this is what you can expect for the temperatures to fall into the 60s. we'll have a few more clouds as they move in from the west. we're dealing with a light westerly breeses. a couple of things to talk about, the rain and cooler temperatures coming up. today a funeral mass was held for patricia mo dell, the wife of former ravens owner art mo dell. father timothy brown from loyola celebrated the funeral. at one time she appeared on more tv shows than any other woman. he has been a well known voice on radio for years. he has informed all of us for

years. today he had surprising news. ron smith announced he has pancreatic cancer. abc2 news, kelly swoope has more. >> ron smith said he wasn't feeling good sop went to see his doctor and -- so he went to see his doctor. >> when he said you have grade four pancreatic cancer cancer that as me tas it sized -- metastasized to your liver our abdominal cavity, lungs. >> pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the u.s. and has the highest mortality rate. smith says he's going to fight it. >> i said, well, is this worth

fighting? >> he said oh, yes. it's worth fighting. fantastic new chemotherapy drugs, chemo regimens. i've seen worse cases than yours clear up. you never know what will happen. i'm committed to fight this thing. >> smith said he will continue doing the show. he also told his listeners not to mourn him. he's not gone and he doesn't want his cancer to be the topic of the show. we have a new study that's supporting the idea of women getting ma'am mow grams every other year because there are too many false alarms. according to the study 60% were called back for extra tests and they turn out not to show breast

morning . well, howard county has wrapped up the deer hunt. how it's helping those who are in need in the county. when it comes to the death of steve jobs, scammers have wasted no time trying to scam you. all right. so we made it up to 72 degrees today. i forecasted 72 degrees. so we have a winner. ray kaufman of bel air, you definitely won an abc2 umbrella. in the pear, temperature around 48 -- pier temperature around 48 degrees.

the owner of the ski resort in maryland has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. they filed to help give them breathing room while they reorganizations. they defaulted on nearly $30 million in loans. dc development said selling the ski resort is the last option. a substantially larger animal can playing the the suburbs, nuisance deer. they pose a threat to you. now as jeff hager tells us, they have declared open season on them in howard county. >> reporter: opponents liken it to killing bam by but here in clarksville said efforts to thin the deer herd could save lives. >> a few of them out will.

>> reporter: as houses went up, cutting into the deer's natural habitat, more ventured out on to the roads searching for tonight. since the managed deer hunt started, the number of cars striking deers a diminished. >> the number is around 1100 toe 12 -- to 1200 just in howard county. >> reporter: the hunters must undergo a stringent application process, attend seminars and qualify at approved shooting ranges to test their markmanship and safety knowledge. >> this is a way they clan get some meat that's very expensive that they couldn't otherwise

rising. in baltimore today we had blue skies out there. we also saw a few wispy clouds. we're trying to get a few more clouds as it comes from the west. the chesapeake beach another spot as we look at the blue sky a few cirrus clouds. it was a gorgeous day. our last stop on the weather bug stop, frederick looks good as we see plenty of blue sky. we're looking at color on the trees as well. we did have some wind gusts, about 22 into baltimore. that's the highest gust in restin. maryland's most powerful radar is dry and will stay that way as we go through the evening. we'll see a change as we go into wednesday. 74 at the inner harbor. annapolis around 71 degrees. that weather pattern is dry and

breezy as the cold front pushes through overnight. we're going to be looking at wet conditions as i show you the big picture. it will be courtesy of this low pressure that's down here, already dumping rain into florida. it will be moving up the coast. we'll see wet weather as we go into wednesday that wet weather, rain could be heavy at times. so, again, as we go through the rest of the monday we can she clouds trying to slide in, sign creasing qlowd cof -- cloud cover raj. then heavy at times. you can see lunchtime, look at the red there. that's what we have to contend w then we'll dry out nicely. you'll like the seven-day forecast. by tomorrow the temperature around 71 degrees. it will be dry.

cashing in on jobs' name. joce sterman has more. >> reporter: while fans light candles and set up memorials, scammers are paying tribute to steve jobs. they're about making money. they claim thousands of ipads are given away in memory of the co-founder. vie they have -- they have links, a way to get free apple technology supposedly. the scammers say time is limited. scams like this often pop up with ties to current events. if you spread the message, you won't get free damage jets-- gadgets. instead, you'll be putting your computer at risk.
