that went viral. this is a crash that happened on the 101 freeway in san francisco. >> i found this story on ktvu. we have a big cement truck that crashes into a car and two other cars crash into it. so it's a a big disaster. the truck tips over and ultimately catches on fire. the driver who is 52 years old, manages to get out of the truck. but as he's trying to get away, collapses and faints. >> a driver whose made it past the accident gets out of her car, she's surrounded by fire, there's fuel coming out of the truck. she puts both her hands under this guy's arms and pulls him. >> i grabbed him from right here with my arms and i was just pulling him as fast and hard that i can. praying that it don't blow up while i'm trying to grab this guy. >> the name of the hero is tina williams, she's 22 years old and everybody is just so thankful, especially the driver, whose life was saved.

and i couldn't. >> she's my new hero, good for her. >> women are not as strong as men and she did that. >> wow. >> incredible what adrenaline will help you do. >> that spot is the cab where the motor is of the truck and it's completely burned down. >> how are the people doing who were injured in the crash? >> fortunately, they all survived. >> now this particular image is kind of a funny twist, she was a good samaritan who was trying to help people, except there was nobody else to be rescued and they asked him to leave and they arrested him. >> that's the first time i ever heard somebody get arrested for trying to save someone's life. it's division i collegiate water skiing. kyle danmeyer is flying around on his skis, he goes to attempt his jump. he messes up right about here

and -- oh! head-first! >> oh! >> head-first off the ramp and flies, i don't know, about 50 feet. when you see it in slow motion -- not only does his head hit the ramp, but also his head, his head hits the water, too. he goes head first into the water. >> i can't figure out what happened to cause this. look, he came out of one of his skis. >> he caught an edge on one of his skis. his left foot -- just boom. pulls him around. >> he was going really fast. >> yeah. belly-flop competition, this guy takes the trophy. but water-skiing, jumping? i don't think so. 70,000 people are just -- at a clash with police. throwing gas bombs. >> police in full-on riot gear, protesters throwing rocks. swinging metal rods, anything they can get their hands on,

whoa. did you see that? >> yeah. check this out. >> protester completely on fire. running, you can see a man chasing after hill. shortly after that, put out the flames. the camera does not follow the action. the camera stays on what's happening in the street. the other remarkable thing about the video how calm the police are staying. you don't see the police marching in and beating protesters hire. fire bombs being hurled at them and they hold their line and march down the street. >> this fight lasted for about three hours, 28 people were arrested. 40 injuries. mostly to police. this is all over the deepening recession and the rising unemployment in greece. >> but the thing is that when you're out of money, you're out of money, you got to make cuts, and when they're retirement age, i believe it's 50. that's unsustainable. something has to be cut.

if you look into the history of this debt crisis. a lot of it has to do with tax evasion. it will be interesting to see the long-term effects of this pele choose to travel there or not. >> brother teaches sister how to -- use a knife? i'm sorry. action. i have a feeling that with this video, the organizers of this event didn't quite see this happening. this is an anti-terrorist unit

would be awesome to see that. can you imagine nine years old and seeing the helicopters flying? it was just cool when they brought the fire truck to school. anything would be cool. obviously maybe they didn't think this one through. a little duct tape would have saved the day on this one. duct tape the signs down, nobody would have got hurt. >> another story that comes to us from san francisco is from today, but 20 years ago. on october 20th, 1991, there was a massive fire in the oakland hills that destroyed about 3,000 homes it killed 25 people and it cost the city of oakland around $5.2 billion. these are some of the images from 20 years ago. just to remember the devastating damage that this fire caused. it was caused by a grass fire that obviously went out of control. >> are they commemorating this

♪ ♪ an unusual cold front moved through illinois and into the great lakes area of michigan. we've got all of this video at weather.com. huch waves in lake michigan, up to 18 feet, they had wind gusts that reached up to 60 miles per hour. the average wind gust was around 40 miles per hour. creating these enormous waves. >> you can tell they're not supposed to be this big there, because these are benches where people sit and the waves are totally crashing up against the benches. >> this caused a problem in lake huron as well. this is a ferry that crosses

lake huron. you can see the waves crashing up against the boat. they said at lake huron they got waves up to 23 feet. >> that's like surfing championship-sized waves. not like waves in the great lakes. >> and huge storms like the one that created the waves in lake huron, lake michigan. they don't happen frequently, but they've happened in the past. they caused problems like the sinking of the lr dodie in 1988, and the sinking of "the edmund fitzgerald." not a day when i don't think about that. >> how do you start a car if you don't have jumper cables, a buddy with a car that runs or -- how do you start a car when your battery is out? >> i have no idea. >> no clue. >> you lift your car, you take a rope, you wrap it around the wheel and you --

for safety reasons, they didn't want citizens to be harmed. here is a shot of some of the carnage left behind. this is a really disturbing photo. you can see dead bengal tigers, grizzly bears. >> if the police had not done what they did, who knows what kind of damage those animals could have done. >> of course, in true internet fashion. people utilized situations like this, in order to get their own kind of attention. you think you're about to see one of these escaped animals in someone's back yard. instead, this is what you see. >> we just got rick rolled. >> it's an internet prank that many people, do they put a title on an email, you think you're getting some kind of information, and instead of you get a rick astley that will not shut. people are looking for images of what happened in zanesville. and they use it to rick roll people. >> that is dumb.

and a lot more exciting. >> i've been wanting to plan a a trip to beachtown. here's what happened when i researched it on the internet. i don't know who to listen to. hundred of reviews, i go to trippy and i start a new trip. >> this new site is called trippy.com. and it utilizes all of your other social networking sites, twitter, facebook. when you're planning a trip to christchurch, new zealand. you put in christchurch and searches all of your social networking sites and finds people who have a connection or experience with that area and they can make recommendations so the information about an area not coming from an untrusted source, but someone you know. and when you take the trip, you can take pictures and do things and show people that help you plan the trip, that you were doing the things they recommended. and then, if you like the trip,

you can make it available to other people and they can book the same kind of trip. and the site books everything for you, too. >> i really like this idea. because who belter to get recommendations from, than your friends? and it can actually work in bursts. if i can't stand you know, joey and joey writes that he had an awesome time at this bar and i know i hate all the places that joey goes, i know i'm going to steer clear of that. >> and i knew you were going to say that you know your friends that have lousy taste. that's as good as somebody saying, i loved it. >> i got my friends to help me plan the trip and i got to take them along for the ride. what made it all possible? trippy. the new way to travel. >> yeah, but this is pretty trippy.
