they say the tent city shouldn't be in a city park. it's a stalemate both sides to work out. right now they are just giving a list of options that donta peal to the protesters. thehe city wants the overnight protest to be just two people. protesters say it's their right and the city is a symbol of the protest. each side is waiting for the other to blink. >> they are camping out. they want to protest, size with their voices, music and dance all day long this is about -- this isn't about inequality ; it's about a camp out. the square is a public space, it's not for that reason. >> the draft they have given us is not acceptable. we are trying to work with them to figure something out. >> reporter: now the mayor hasn't said the police will be

sent in. the protesters say they will be out tonight and every night until their message is heard. we will have more on the story coming up tonight at six. reporting live,abc 2news. >> the marches in other cities have gotten the violent. in oakland california police cracked down on the protesters last night. armed in full riot gear. they used tear gas and smoke bombs to disperse the crowds. they have been camped out in a downtown plaza but the mayor said it wasn't safe and ordered them out. police said they gave warnings but the group stayed. now to atlanta protesters were kicked out just before midnight. officers ordered them to leave the park. police moved in less than 24 hours after the mayor decided to revoke the order letting protesters camp out.

some left in handcuffs. we have the latest an an early morning fire. officials say one person suffered minor smoke inhalation. it was on patterson park and started in the living room of the home. the man was the only person inside. investigators are trying to determine what caused that fire. hartford county sheriff's office has released this picture of a van similar to the one used in a suspicious incident this week. monday morning a 14-year-old boy said that a man in a black work type van threatened him if he didn't get in the van. it happened at the corner of st. clair. the boy got away and investigators say they have had several reports of the van. anyone with information is ask to call the sheriff. police have arrested a man on peeping tom charges. police say they were called

late last night. witnesses said they noticed a man peering into a house through a bedroom win to you. police say that the suspect kenneth henry was driving around in the area when he saw a young female in a room with her light on and he allegedly parked on the street and went up to the window. developing story tonight that we have been following for months, the locksmith getting first criminal conviction tonight. joseph horton, appeared in a courtroom today facing charges of theft and identity fraud. a judge found him guilty of forging a customer's guilty after she wouldn't pay him a bill for his services. the victim claimed he quoted $250 but later charged her more than a thousand. horton will be sentenced on friday. we will have more tonight at

the opportunity to introduce its students to a new device to help them with dyslexia. the reader takes pictures and then converts them into a digital form. that form lets audio play back. the creator has dyslexia and talked about how devices like this can help them be independent. >> for kids who are eight and just finding out they may be in the club it's very important they understand they aren't broken and they are part of a larger group, a community that interested in their vision of the future work they want to be and how they will be independent. >> reporter: october is national dyslexia awareness month and the school has been dedicated to giving students with learning disabilities a chance to succeed in school. a new stat survey has found there is a high stress among 8th and 9th graders taking a

math. some parents have problems as well. more than 70% believe that helping kid was math is really harder than teaching them to drive. we show you there is a new online tool to help parents with math. >> reporter: matthew is hard at work tackling his math problems. matthew struggled with math and wasn't alone. a newly released survey finds most student students consider it their toughest subject. >> i had difficulty in math. i didn't get it and all. i would spend hours with my dad trying to figure it out. >> reporter: the newly released study also finds that parents struggle with helping their kids with math. robin wants to provide the best for her son matthew. she admits subjects like this can be out of her league.

. now to a health alert. tainted canteloupes from colorado have become the deadliest outbreak in more than a decade. the contaminated fruit are blamed for 28 deaths across the country and sickening 133 people in 26 states. the fda stayed unsanitary conditions at the packing facility may have led up to the contamination. a new study show this is year's flu shots may not be as effective. the study by the university of minnesota researchers showed seasonal flu shots only prevent it in 59% of adults. this could be a problem if a pandemic broke out but they say the current vaccine is the best weapon right now so better to have it than no protection at all. if your child asthma some
