we have no accidents reported on any county or city roads in baltimore. great way to start the morning. let's take a look at the beltway, 795, on the north side, very light traffic in becht sides. no issues traveling from pikesville. 95 and 395 is moving well in both directions. there was roadwork overnight. 95 south at keith, we still have some leftover roadwork there. you can check us out at twitter. we've learned in the past hour that police in oakland, california have begun firing tear gas canisters at protesters. demonstrators salute down the fifth largest port and there was vandalism. new video ahead coming to you from oakland, california. also in tulsa, protesters are back in the city park following a night that included ten arrests and confrontations with police that included clouds of pepper spray coming

from officers. a and in seattle violence broke out after protesters broke through a police blockade. closer to home, it's not violence it's tris that's causing tensions -- it's electricity that's causing tension. here's more. >> well, charlie, we have all new-reaction from "occupy baltimore" protesters camped out at mckeldin square. protesters say they are disappointed in the city for shutting off the power. they say it affects their cell phone and computer use and the mayor's office say they turned off the power out of concern for public safety. city inspectors say the large number of items being powered from each outlet created power hazard. the protesters don't have the proper permits to use these and we caught up with some of them to learn what they had to say about all of this. >> we've been doing pretty good. we have to bundle up to keep

warm. other than making coffee and the internet, we don't really use that much electricity. >> so again, the protesters say they bell wum -- welcome dialogue with the city. we're still awaiting word from baltimore county police on a homicide in parkville from wednesday afternoon. the call came in just after 4:30 where crews arrived at the scene at the 2700 block of sarah lane. both forensics teams and detectives were there. right now, all we know is the victim is classified as an adult female. we're gonna update you on this as soon as new information becomes available. and curtis lopez, back in maryland. he returned last night after being extradited from north carolina. he's charged in the murder of his estranged wife and is suspected of killing his stepson. the two bodies were found about a week apart in a nearby wooded area. the jury has deliberated and wander bishop has been sentenced to life in prison

with the chance for parole. he was sentenced in the murder- for-hire case in william porter. bishop shot porter to death after being hired by porter's wife for $9,000. prosecutors say his taped con fix helped sway the jury who could have given him the death penalty. >> it was a key to our ability to prove premeditated first- degree murder. he acknowledged his participation. he acknowledged he was doing this for money. it was clear and demonstrated his guilt of the offense. >> with respect to the ringleader of that case, carla poeter will go on trial next spring. that will cake place in carroll county. and another decision in the yogurt shop mur. britney norwood was convicted of first-degree murder for killing jane na murray inside the -- jana mur pray inside the store -- murray was inside the store. a shooting that's causing

quite a media frenzy involving a plain clothes police officer and those in uniform at the select lounge back in january everyone the gunfire resulted in the death of an off-duty police officer. while no charges have been filed this morning, new information is being released. and we're standing by with the details with our reporter. >> reporter: well, the new information that we released this this morning has to do with findings of the independent review board investigation. the incident happened last january 9th and involved the tragic death of a baltimore police officer and 22-year-old shawn gamble as well as the shootings of three other people and one additional officer. the officer was gunned down by fellow officers, police officers who were arriving for crowd control at the select night club. the officer was not in uniform and it was not clear if he identified himself as a police officer. he was caught in a hail of gunfire struck by 20 bullets. the independent review board was appointed by well,-blake.

the board was asked to review the incident and recommend changes to policies and procedures to prevent this type of incident from ever happening again. charges were never filed in the case because the city state's attorney concluded that officers acted reasonably. the review board's results will be announced this morning at baltimore city police headquarters at a press conference. police now are needing your help in an investigation involving chinese carry-out. they are trying to identify three who gunned down a man on halloween. this is surveillance video who show the men walking into the carry-out on greenmont avenue. police say 52-year-old freddie jones junior died when he resisted the robbers and she shot him multiple timeles. >> they was intimidated by his size. he's a tall man, football player type size. you know, like -- an older man is not gonna get anybody put their hands in their pocket or -- i herd it was like for $13 -- i heard it was like for $13.

here's an interesting story for you. and one that might make you unsees -- uneasy. if you have ever been heading to the airport, it finds out -- turns out that screeners are still finding four or five guns on a typical day. and that's according to a tsa agent who testified. he says more han 900 guns have been recovered at checkpoints just this year. that common excuse from passengers, they say they forgot the weapon was in their bag altogether. more trouble for herman cain. a third bomb is saying she was -- woman is saying she was harassed. the woman said it was aggressive, unwanted behavior from cain when newarked -- worked together in the 1990s and she told "the associated press" that behavior included a private invitation to cain's private apartment. cain was at the time the head of the restaurant association. he deny is the accusation.

i want to start off with a look at the wide view satellite radar composite. you take take a look back here. very distinct storm pattern. this the area of low pressure sliding its way through. it's a storm and we got it extending one front from with some storms near milwaukee and just to the north of detroit. we have storms down the east, down the mississippi river. the storm will be diving itself through the carolinas. a what that means is we're just gonna get clipped by a piece of that energy. it doesn't look as impressive by the time it does reach us. it does look more impressive during this overnight, early- morning period. we'll probably have some sun today mixed in with the high clouds. we're just on the edge of the storm system and the future trend thoughs -- shows's we are pretty much die -- shows we're
