everybody will be sharing some of the blame in this fight that ended with a police officer and another man dead. >> i made a lot of calls to the congressmen and nobody was able to do anything. you can see i lot of the house. >> an iraq war veteran gets a hard welcome. she is jobless and homeless. we want to start with the latest on a grandmother killed. she lived with her grandson in a nice home. from the outside we have no idea what led to the horror on the inside. we are live tonight. >> reporter: jamie it's a family tragedy that county police are searching for a motive for that they may not find. police say the 21-year-old shot and killed his grandmother. his body was found with aself inflicted gun shot wound.

she was found shot in the basement of her home. authorities say they aren't sure how long she had been dead. >> this is not a random killing, it's a family tragedy. yesterday the victim -- daughter became concerned when she heard that her mother had not shown up for work for two days. another family member went to the home and found the victim dead in the basement. >> reporter: once again police say they are not sure what the motive is behind this, they are still investigating the tragedy. >> all right. tonight from townsend police -- new developments in the death of an 11-year-old last month. prosecutors say william mcclain was beat then the head with a bat by his stepfather curtis lopez. the bat was found near where his body was found in a wooded area. the new details revealed in

court where lopez was ordered held without bail in the killing of his estranged wife, prosecutors also say a blood smeared 30-pound weight was found in the condo where police found her body. lopez has been charged in her murder and will be charged in the death of his stepson. a barber charged with abusing a 13-year-old in a hair salon and they fear we could have more victims. the what 54-year-old abused the teen who was a client right there on plum tree drive the on severalo occasions the suspect made inappropriate comments before abused him in september. police believe since the salon is in a neighborhood there could be other victims and also going to the salon without a parent. >> in this community there are a lot of home was in walking distance and that's why this young boy was able to go there

alone. >> howard county police ask if you have information please call them. ten months after four city police officers shot and killed one of their own outside a west baltimore club an independent review board released its findings on what happened that night. it was early january when william torbett responded to an unruly crowd. confusion and panic happened and with in six seconds 42 shots were fired by other police. torbett and shaun gambol were killed. a board was charged to study what went wrong and how to fix it and that report came out today. >> there is a take away that there is -- through this horrible tragedy we have identified, they have identified now laid a road map

the baltimore group the city has cut off the power remotely to those in the square so that businesses in the area would not ba necked. the city said protesters don't have the permits to use the outlets. the city said it was over concerns of public safety after an official found electric and fire hazards in the area. a senator will seek a second term to the united states senate. his campaign announced he will make his campaign official on sunday one year before the elections. he served ten terms in congress before beating former lieutenant governor michael steel in 2006 to win a term to the senate. he will announce at the baltimore museum of industry. it is a scene we have seen over the past few hours a i moving van, deputies force someone out of their home. this time it happened to a veteran who still carries the

life. >> reporter: she came back with ptsd and was discharged with honor. without a job she couldn't handle the mortgage. now with the clock ticking on the foreclosure a veterans help group has come through with temporary housing. it's overwhelmed requests though. >> in the last two years we have had requests for food help double and those are the people who are out there overseas, serving our country and their families can't put food on the table. >> reporter: kenya knows where they would be without the group. >> living in my car. >> reporter: in this economy, she realizes her struggle to rebuild her life is far from over. >> now smith said she would have sold her house when she couldn't find work but was

runner had a heart attack. >> looking back and researching family members, the male side of the family had many heart attacks. most of them deadly. >> reporter: that's why the doctor said women who get stress tests tests ask about female specific readings, they could hold clues to future problems. abc 2news. >> if you schedule a stress test talk with your doctor beforehand about trying to figure out the results you get. franklin square hospital making sure you get your flu shot. sunday starting at ten they will be giving out free flu shots. it's a drive through clinic. it'll be the 5th year they have offered the free shots in a drive through clinic. the first year 700 showed up, last year 2,000. this year they have 2500 shots available for you.

rain starting to edge in, southwest virginia and we could see a few of these showers get in overnight toward daybreak but i think most of the storm system is set to take a dive skirting maryland just to the south and east. we will dodge most of the rain but perhaps not all of it. cool air wrapping around the back side of this approaching storm and that will replace the mild air. cold shot behind that storm front. 47 st. louis, 46 nashville. we will get a shot of cooler air tomorrow night into saturday and then warm it back up on sunday. the trend here isa as we go forward. that storm tracking just south but that rain close, i think at least southern maryland and dc pointing out they could see rain, wet roads toward daybreak and then we dry it out through the day on friday, chill the air temperatures friday night into saturday but the sky also stay nice and clear. out tolinest, she will talk
