students. the program started 20 years ago to help focus attention on underrepresented minorities. and with the help of foundational money we have given opportunities to student that didn't have them with a focus of them entering in the field of medical professions phd and mds combined educations. and we do that with a series of educational invasions. most where we focus on the student and their experience at umbc. >> reporter: why is this working? you are getting national attention. one of the best programs in the country? >> well, i am going give the credit to the people here at umbc. starts with inspirational leaders and phillip who is work on building a community of scholars and every member of the staff and faculity dedicated to the success of the students. and all of us are focused on intinkive undergraduate education for all our students. >> reporter: thanks so much for chatting with us.

now "good morning maryland." . >> the sexual harassment controversy building around republican presidential hopeful herman cain has been involved anonymous women until now. that after chicago area woman came forward claiming cain behaved-appropriately in 1997. -- behaved inappropriately in 1997. corinne redman is standing by with the latest and details. >> reporter: the woman is sharon bialek and says it happened while cain was head of the national restaurant association. sharon bialek went to him forhelp with a job and she got more than asked for when the alleged entercounseller occur cement told three people about

this is subtropical storm shawn and we are getting the graphic together. as we check out storm system rolling its way a few hundred miles to the east of miami. in fact, we have the official track by 671 miles to the east of miami. 45-mile-per-hour sustained wind. and subtropical storm is named subtropical because it doesn't have a full deep core of warm air and it's shallow where the warm air is and a meteorological essence but as far as we are concerned, it's going to be a wave generator along the east coast but it's not going to be much more than anything else. the thing is going to sit and spin for a couple days. may ram up up to 50, 55 miles per hour been et -- and get caught up and shoot out to sea. it will interact with the frontal boundary. the same someone responsible for the observing laa tornado may be responsible for more severe weather from illinois through missouri and being a saw today. we will get the steering winds starting to pull in our
