gas service in locust point. if all goes as planned, bge could restore service later tonight. abc2 linda so is live with an update on how repairs are going. linda. >> reporter: the latest update they have made a lot of progress and the next step is they will be patching up the holes in the road. we are in the 1400 block of ford avenue. and the good news this morning is about 1 hup had been homes and businesses are back online -- a hundred homes and businesss are back online. the remaining 900 customers could get service starting later tonight. this is a long tedious process because workers have to go into each affected home to turn off the gas. it's the only safe way to make sure gas doesn't leak into homes during the repair. last night, bge crews started forcing their way into a hundred homes where they haven't been able to get in touch with the owner. a locksmith and police office are assisted with that. once the repair to the broken gas main is complete, workers have to go back to each home to physically turn the gas back

on. now also, if a bge crew has not been to your house to turn off the gas call them at 1-800-685- 0123. the goal is to restore the service beginning later tonight. live in locust point, linda so, abc2 news. if you travel in the area of the conowingo dam, tomorrow the route 1 bridge will be shutting down for repairs. crews will resurface repair damage from the tanker truck accident from two weeks ago. work was going to bin around 6:30 and expected to be done around 6 p.m. if you are coming from cecil county you will have to follow a 22 mile detour and going northbound you will be redirected to 543 and 95 north. if you are listening to a radio or television around 2:00, you will notice an interruption. there will be an alarm and warning message but it's just a test. the government wants to make sure everything is in working order with the first nationwide

or frost? we had we have -- we have widespread conditions. near the bay and south we have thick fog this morning and that's just in response to the clear skies and cool temperatures and warm water that surrounds us. warm temperatures. 56 cincinnati. nashville is 64 ahead of the front that's dropped back to the 50s in st. louis and 30s in des moines. des moines iowa one of the places looking at rough weather for some reason we got the map shifted focus and there's the storm producing that wrap around cold air and snow through iowa. we wanted to highlight the fact we have the storm system wrapping on into the midwest. that works into the great lakes. warm air ahead of the low pressure system that takes the energy to the north. we have a diminished form of the front but we will get the cold air behind it. off the southeast coast, not a direct influence on us. we are watching rough seas along the eastern seaboard and this storm, tropical storm sean 50-mile-per-hour sustained wind pulls to the north and out to sea in response to the front.
