early morning hours. and we saw lightning strikes in the camera in the last half hour. here we are at 6:30 in the morning this line of storms here this two-story house was lifted ten feet off its foundation that is a tremendous amount of energy. these storms are volatile and pushing through new orleans right now and feed into a larger line of storms into western tennessee and the ohio river valley. we show you this because that is a sign of the energy that could be feeding in our direction. and we're watching most of the rain right now on the most powerful radar across the area it's light and heavier in the south. fog, mist and mild this morning. we'll go to 63 for the day and heavy rain will be in for the storms. we have a report of an overturned car on bel air road. taking a look at the southwest

side on the beltway. this is a live look at frederick road. the outer loop has our heavier traffic right now. prior to that on the baltimore pike, we have a broken down car. the top side of the beltway starting to slow done. and we have slow traffic on the outer loop moving way from the camera. drive time are affected on the beltway. top side between bel air and prove dense, that will take -- providence, that will take you eight minutes. this sign in towson is drawing tension for all the wrong reasons. some say that the sign is inappropriate for kids. linda so is here to say why some want the sign taken down. >> reporter: some are saying that the sign is too revealing for children. it's for dd bailbonds. it's a new company set to open in a few weeks. it's located near the courthouse in towson. but it's across the street from

the towson branch library and some parents feel that the sign doesn't send a good message to young children. the dd bailbonds sign meets all permits. the owner said that the logo was designed to draw attention but not intended make people mad. >> it never was meant to offend in any way and the community and people need to give it a chance. >> it comes from the first names of the first principal owners. and you'll be seeing a lot more of that low goal. they hope to open locations in baltimore city, and harford. ten-year-old ashlynn connor will be laid to rest in illinois. her mother said that she was bullied to death. last week the girl hanged herself with a scarf. community members are

organizing a candlelight vigil for the young lady on saturday. take a look -- look at the hundreds gathering in wisconsin. they need more than a half million signatures to get the governor out of the office. they're angry over the law he create to the strip bargaining rights from most state workers. it seems that consumers are heading to social media. >> reporter: a target work near nebraska is opposing his company's plan to open at midnight and black friday and he's developing quite a following. nearly a hundred thousand people have signed his on line petition asking the company to open at 5:00 a.m. on black friday. other on line petitions are urging major retailers to keep black friday and friday macy's, best buy plan to open at friday

and wal-mart will open 10:00 p.m. thanksgiving day and toys'r'us, 9:00 p.m. they say that opening on thanksgiving day robs them of time with their family. >> i think it's a littlen reasonable for them to expect their employees to come into the store at 11:00 people and think they'll still be able to have a thanksgiving dinner. >> reporter: target said that black friday is weren't busiest and most competitive shopping days of the year. they want to shop target following their thanksgiving day celebrations rather than only having the option of getting up in the middle of the night. take a look at this website that a target employee created. it says tell target to save thanksgiving. you can see that it has over 97,000 signatures from people. they're saying that a midnight opening robs them of time off

police say that this woman steered her wheelchair into her local taco bell sat interrogate the glass she said that she was mad when she tried to order through the drive through with her wheelchair ands with refused. taco bell said that only people with legitimate vehicle cans use the drive you there. a woman's 11-year-old son found a total stranger asleep on the couch. she called 911 and screamed for the neighbors. 44-year-old terry trent did have a pocket knife and most likely high and bath salts. he walked through the back door and made himself comfortable but he also did some housework to boot. >> candle was luter and the tv on and very loud and the wreath

november 16th. let's get right to. let's check the forecast with justin berk. a mild start this morning. and now we get to show you the benefit of this brand-new camera in bel air. this is main street and route 22. this is a well-traveled .section -- intersection. you know when the rain starts because we see the reflection of the streetlights and now we're getting some daylight. we have a little bit of fog. 58 a mild start in bel air and 55 in rock hall, and 61 at the naval academy. so we have rain to pay the piper. and with route 50, very wet and heavy rain beginning to enter in washington d.c. and pg joint rolling toward 50. so we're about to get moderate rain. and kent island, half tv getting soaked -- half of it getting soaked. 97 in glen burnie and now 70 in

ellicott city in howard county. but we have ourselves moderate rain and there's more where that came from and the rain could get heavier this afternoon. we start with the fog and the mist and the wet roads, we make item to 63 by lunchtime and falling temperatures with rain later on. in anne arundel county 97 south, we have a report of an accident there. slowing down, top side and west side of the beltway. take a live look at our traffic camera. 695 south of old court road, stop-and-go traffic here. we have a broken down car in the center lane. this is 83 and warren road. there's a steady flow of southbound traffic with the headlights. follow us on twitter at maryland traffic for the latest accidents and delays. secret service and windowed with police are on a manhunt looking for a suspect that fired shots at the white house.

>> reporter: we've learned this man is fixated with the white house. he has an extensive criminal record with domestic violence and drug charges. they believe he has been visiting the washington mall for weeks now. take a look at his picture. his name is oscar ortega hernandez. he's from idaho and mentally ill. the secret service said that he is responsible for the shots fired at the mall, less than a thousand yards from the white house. they found his car and inside was an assault style rifle and empty shell casings. they found bullets on the white house grounds, including one that hit a window. the round was stopped by bulletproof glass. long before the shooting, the police had a run-in with him. he was arrested at an abandoned house. >> they handcuffed him and had him on the grass. i guess they let him go. >> he had no idea that anybody would live there. >> reporter: it's unclear if

the suspect is capablable of launching a sophisticated attack. but the police are not taking any chances. the manhunt continues this morning. things got a little heated for the occupy protest after they tried to disrupt a speech given by karl rove at johns hopkins university. we have new reaction from the protestors. let's turn over to "abc 2 news" sherrie johnson. >> reporter: we've learned that mayors of mid-size and large cities held two conference calls last week organized by the u.s. conference of mayors. they discussed removing protestors from the camp from illegal activity and unsafety. it's unclear if mayor blake was on the mayors' conference call. we placed several calls to her, but last night several protestors with occupy baltimore disrupted a speech by karl rove at johns hopkins university. take a look at this new video
