>> the intruder that died was the victim's next door neighbor. jeff hagger has the latest in the 2,000 block of the street. >> joseph breckenridge was battling for his life and all of the victims of the home invasion breckenridge was the intruder. >> calm down and quiet and had the one sheriff got there, basically he had him and he was not breathing and he asked if i could help and i turned him over and his eyes were open and i don't think he was breathing. >> reporter: breckenridge would die at upper chest a peak medical center. it all began when breckenridge

entered the home without notice. >> he was obsessed with my friend, justin, he does it when her husband is not home. >> reporter: this time the husband confronted him and a scuffle ensued and they attempted to restrain him hoping to stop the man that had make a practice of walking into neighbor's homes without warning. >> several of the neighbors had voiced concerns about the individual in the past through unwanted entrances or bothering them in the neighborhood. >> reporter: witnesses say breckenridge was acting aggressively and erratic. >> they say he was strong, for 53, they said he was extremely strong. it took both of them to hold him down. >> reporter: jeff hagger, abc2 news. want to get back to the point that jeff made, the female victim says that breckenridge was in her home

and rummaged through her clotting in the past. baltimore police say a man shot and killed a man in baltimore, he was waving two large kitchen knives around on edmundson avenue when police were called for reports of an armed man, the 52-year-old refused to stop and she ended up shooting him and he later died and the officer was not hurt. the occupy baltimore protesters are going to be reapplying for a permit to allow them to stay right here in mcalden square, they submitted their application to allow them to continue the protests through april. the new application seeks permission for four large tents and personal tents and asking for electricity which the city cut around the plaza earlier. >> we have new information about the school bus crash.

20 peoplenedded up at saint mary's hospital. it took place in chappaco. the accident involved the bus, car and a truck and the driver was charged with driving under the influence. the great mills high school basketball team was on the bus returning from a game in virginia. 15 students and the driver and along with the driver and a 13- year-old girl and the truck driver that suffered minor injuries. if you are planning to hit the road for thanksgiving, you might just want to wait a little bit. traffic around the beltway is not bad but if you are going up north it is jammed after getting off of the beltway. let's take a look. out the windows on 95 near white marsha where traffic is moving in both directions but not quickly and further up north things have cleared up and we want to take a live shot near warren where you can see

hospital for his heart condition unless his dog was cared for. the medics took norton's dog taco to the eastern animal hospital which offered to care and board the 10-year-old chihuahua until norton got out of the hospital and the two nearly spending the time apart. >> the owner called from bay view to make sure taco was okay and very worried about him and we reassured him each time. >> reporter: the dog and owner will never see each other again, norton was released from the hospital and attempted to check into the homeless shelter located in the united methodist church and it would be one night and the next day he would get his dog but last night while walking from the bus stop police say 26-year-old mario renta driving drunk struck and killed the 74-year-old. ran over once by renta and then

again by the vehicle behind him. >> when you heard this last night what was your reaction? >> i was crying and shocked. >> reporter: carla shafer is the director of the streets of hope, a shelter that bounces around from church to church while it looks for a permanent building. it was going to settle last night before neighbors complained and since then it ended up here along a busy road and with a challenging distance to the closest bus stop. while this accident was incredibly unforce nate it may not have been avoidable, the driver was drunk, the police say twice the legal limit but norton was walking down this road from the bus stop on the way to the homeless shelter and you can see there is very little if any room to walk. >> he was very well loved and all of the men were upset when they heard and one was crying inconsolable as well as the staff. >> reporter: norton will be

seizures and we got great news and he will be getting it thank to his fellow student. we were there and his family and mom and andrew wanted to raise $50 doing odd jobs so william can afford the special dog, not only did andrew reach that goal, he raised $250. >> well, i raked leaves. i did a demolition drive in a basement. i cleaned out a car. i got some sponsors and i'm testing a video game for someone. >> that's impressive. >> you take that $250 a and combine it with all of the other fundraisers it comes out to $13,000 and that's how much it will take to train the dog which should be in williams' home in ten months.
