family. >> a lot of neglect and we see a lot of abused animals. i just can't imagine that anybody would want to treat animals like this. >> reporter: 33 animals arrive every day. with that many, room to fit them all becomes a problem. >> that means we have to create space for 33 new animals a day. we do that boy adopting them out -- by adopting them out. we have a lot of animals and we also have to euthanize. it's really hard. but i feel blessed that i'm here and other people are here to help. sometimes you have no put them to -- to put them to sleep.

diane alvear has more. >> reporter: it was a tragedy captured on a web cam, one day before thanksgiving. a small plane crashing into an arizona mountain. >> i looked up, and i saw this fireball, and it rose up, and then all of a sudden, boom. >> reporter: just minutes after takeoff, flying at 1350eds -- speeds of 200 miles an hour, the aircraft slammed into the superstitious mountains. >> the way that debris was strewn and the fire was burning, it didn't look like anybody could survive. >> reporter: the twin engine flight was 150 miles away. one of the pilots, a divorced father, stopped in mesa to pick up his three children between the ages of five and nine. two other adults were onboard.
