when we lose an 18-year-old we lose a piece of our future. that's what these two young men would have done with their lives. maybe they would have changed ours. we have the hardest story to tell from the saddest voices. >> reporter: jonathan spent his short life showing he loved kids. the one closest to him 11-year- old david. his younger brother now holds on to he is mom with a pain that's unimaginable just hours after the man he knows as johnnie was killed. >> he was just a child.

i loved him so much. >> reporter: the 18-year-old was in this car along with four others on friday night. police in howard county say the driver lost control on lawyers hill road, crossed the center lane and hit a tree. he is best friend, 19-year-old jeffery giles was also killed. >> it is heart breaking. your heart hurts so much. >> reporter: both men were on the passenger side of the vehicle. giles up front. deckman in the back. both were not wearing their seat belts. the driver's speed was a factor. >> this is a windy patch of road. >> reporter: three others were taken to shock trauma including the driver an 18-year-old who is in critical condition. kate dated johnnie for two years-traveled with them to

salvador on a mission trip. >> he cared about people so much. he was my best friend. >> reporter: hoping others has helped both men should be remembered. >> he's always ready to help someone. he wanted to be a teacher. >> reporter: two friends lived together and died together. johnnie was five days shy of celebrating his 19th birthday. >> they knew where they were headed. no parent should have to ever bury their son. shock trauma tells us that the driver remains in critical condition at this hour. two other passengers, a 16-year- old and 18-year-old were released.

they held a candlelight vigil last night. the wax running down the candles were symbols for tears. >> we don't know what to say. we don't know what to feel. we don't know what to think. >> reporter: it is a parent's worse nightmare to receive a phone call stating their child has been injured in an accident. it is an even worse nightmare to hear that there is nothing more that could be done to save their child's life. >> they told us to come down. when we got there that's when they told us they couldn't do anything for them. >> reporter: a car, full of life, would take its last turn on friday night. two best friends would not survive this crash. one is at shock trauma hoping for no more tears. two others had the courage to

be here surrounded by love. >> they were best friends. i don't know why god took my brother and his best friend out of my life. out of anyone's life. i can't explain to her why. he is in a better place. this is a lesson that we have to learn. city police are still looking into a double shooting over the weekend that happened in charleston. two people found in an suv. a 236-year-old female was found with a gunshot wound to the hip

and leg. a 38-year-old male was shot in the arm. both went to the hospital. here's the twist. shooting occurred a few blocks away on 22nd street. the home suffered a partial collapse due to the fire. the cause of the fire is under investigation. there is a developing story out of syracuse, a third accuser is calling assistant basketball coach saying he abused him as a child. there is a recorded phone call years ago where fines wife says she knew.

we have the latest from tonight. >> how are you doing? >> reporter: the recorder was made in 2002 by 39-year-old bobby davis who accused syracuse's head basketball coach bernie fine were sexually abusing a boy. she knew she sexually molested bobby davis in their home. >> i know everything that went on with him. you can be honest with me. >> reporter: davis' said she saw her husband abusing him but felt powerless for stopping it. >> she saw him through the basement window. >> grabbing me and touching me. >> reporter: davis went to syracuse police with his accusation in 2002 but got nowhere. he made the secret recording because the coach's wife was the one person to validate his

charges. later a second man, davis' stepbrother came forward and made similar accusations against bernie fine. in a similar twist lori fine admits she had a sexual relationship with bobby davis when he was 18. >> he had no business doing what he did with you. i really helped screw you up a little more, too. >> were you ever with her sexually? >> yes. >> slept with her? >> yes. >> had intercourse with her? >> yes. we had another gorgeous day out there. a treat from mother nature. temperatures around 71 degrees. maryland's doppler radar is dry. this goes all the way up into northern pennsylvania to see the rain. we'll get on the rain action. in the meantime enjoy the

this holiday weekend families are gathering to remember what we are thankful for in our lives. here's something you won't hear. being thankful for getting cancer. our next guest is saying that. here is crystal parker. i had to double read that.

you say you are thankful for getting cancer. why? >> it was an experience that changed my life. it helped me to put things in perspective. i have always been a prayerful person with a great spirit. this helped me not worry about a lot of things that weren't important anymore. >> you had breast cancer. what was your reaction to that? >> i was like, okay, god, i got the opinion. i said okay, god, this is what i have to deal with. what do you want me to do with this? >> were you angry? >> not at all. that's what was so exciting. during my treatment i was able to talk to people who were bitter and angry. a lot of my mission was to be there as a present and share my experience with other people. >> there will be a lot of

people out there that are angry about this. why me? you say you are on a mission? >> yes. >> what was that mission? take me through it. >> at that point, most of the time you have it. there is nothing they can do about it. it is there. in whatever time i had i wanted to make sure i was able to use that purpose for god. i found a lot was helping to help others see that 90% of your life and living is not the time you have but the quality of life you have when you have your life. >> you talking about your diagnosis being empowering. why is that so important? >> because when you find out what's going on with you then you can take life by itself hand and say what's my purpose and mission? 90% of your healing process is your attitude. i had no choice but to be thankful and grateful.

i was on a mission. however long i had i wanted to do what i was supposed to do on earth. >> what's been the difference since you have been diagnosed? >> i don't worry about things as much. i live in the present of the day. finding out what is my mission for this day? how can i be the best person i can be today? who can i meet to empower? >> tell me about the work you are doing now? >> i'm doing volunteer work. i'm a motivational speaker. i have spoken for a recent conference for young ladies. i spoke with people in recovery about finding your purpose in life and making it the best quality of your life. i tutor and i'm a life coach. >> crystal parker you are something else. i want you to come back and

tell us about support groups. we are out of time. there she is thankful to have cancer. let's look at weather now. i hope you enjoyed today. temperatures topped out at 70. federal hill old glory is in the wind. breeze is not so bad. we can see it southeast at 6 miles per hour. visibility looks good. through the evening we could get patchy fog in here. as of now baltimore looks good. we have plenty of sunshine in here across the area. a few clouds rolled in. all in all it was a good looking day outside. as we look at maryland's radar we are dry. we have all five sweeps on. we are going to stay that way through the rest of the evening. then we'll see rain moving in through tuesday. monday looks like we could squeak out another dry day. temperatures 71 in the inner harbor. this is not a mistake.

we are looking at 71 degrees in d.c. 73 kulpeper. the winds in d.c. is a southerly component out of the south at 7 miles per hour. more of the same into hagerstown. 10 in winchester. the wind will be a big player through the next several days. satellite and radar not picking up on a lot in our area. looking west this is the storm system we are waiting to move in here. it is a snow mover. we have high pressure in the atlantic. that's in control of our weather. sandwiched in we are funneling in mild air. it will be cooler as we go into the next several days because the cold front will push through. you can see what's happening with these temperatures. ahead of the front temperatures in atlanta and charleston 70 degrees. in the interior you can see 30s and 40s.

that's what is poised to move in our area at the end of the week. future trend not picking up on a lot. we'll stay dry through the night and going into monday. a slight chance for a shower in the forecast. the rain really gets in here as we go into tuesday. that's where you need to break out the rain gear again. temperature overnight will have more clouds moving in. i'll call it mostly cloudy. temperature 52 degrees. there is the fog. when you wake up in the morning you could contend with patchy fog. 67 degrees for tomorrow afternoon. some spots could hit that 70 degrees mark depending how much cloud cover we get. it is going to be mild. we'll get more clouds tomorrow. 53 degrees tomorrow night. clouds will hover. slight chance for a shower in the forecast. here we go with your seven-day forecast as we go into tuesday. we'll have the rain temperature coming in at 61 degrees. we'll get cooler in the middle of the week as the front passes. then we get chilly as we head

screaming with joy. twilight's latest hit could be hazardous to your health. movie goers around the country reporting scenes triggering seizures like when a man in utah passed out and began convulsing. the same thing happened to brandon in california. >> i woke up to everyone shaking me. >> reporter: last thing he remembered was bella's graphic birthing screen with flashes of red, black and white lights flickering on the screen like a strobe lights. brandon likely suffered an epileptic seizure. >> red is one of the most provocative colors when flashed to provoke a seizure. >> reporter: this is not the first time people gotten sick from a flick. in 127 hours, a movie about a hunter reports movie goers

fainted from shock in an amputation scene. in avatar one man reportedly died while watching the movie. in 2008, a thriller about a monster attack in new york city. there is a facebook page called clover field made me sick. this guy writes love the movie. hated what it did to my stomach. the next time brandon's girlfriend wants to go to a movie maybe he should chose something lighter. so far no reports of the muppets making anyone sick.
