morning. city schools are telling abc2 news that a 10th grader at polyhas been arrested for having a gun at school. this happened yesterday and the student was taken to the juvenile justice center. no one was hurt. the high school sophomore could be flown out of school and face criminal charges. you never know what you will find at an estate sale. when someone discovered a military shell, they knew it was more than a paperweight. a bomb squad from the ab ber dean proving -- ab ber dean proving ground was called in. the widow probably never knew of

control his dogs. it's quiet now but this american bulldog is one of two that got loops and attacked a runner in davidsonville park. the victim was running in the park when he came across a man walking three dogs. at least one of the dogs broke free biting the man on the arms and legs. the handler ran leaving the dogs to run loose. >> the second dog was labor to get lay way for a period of several hours. ultimately we received call from a citizen indicating the dog was in thick dense marsh. once officers got on scene, the dog was extremely aggressive, biting, lunging at the officers. >> reporter: they captured him but he died on the way to the shelter. now the dog they were able to capture is being held while this is being investigated. authorities are intensifying their search for the dog's owner

who took off after the dogs got loose. >> we're going to continue the investigation to see why he left the scene. we need to locate that third dog as well. it's a disturbing incident. >> reporter: the victim was take tonight hospital and is expected to be okay. police are looking for the person who was handling the dogs. roosevelt leftwich, abc2 news. a busy holiday weekend for state police. troopers arrested 113 suspected drunk driver between wednesday and sunday. most of the arrests were in baltimore county. troopers said we had nearly 300 crashes. five of them killed six people. troopers issued more than 10,000 traffic citations and warnings for the same time period.

a judge dismissed a count from an aide to bob ehrlich who tried to keep people from voting. he said it duplicated the allegations. he faces charges of conspiracy to flu voters to stay home. jurors are expected to hear opening statements sometime today. council man daryl johns is headed to prison after not filing a tax return for five years. jones pled guilty to the charge. and he was sentenced to five months in prison. jones will also pay more than $108,000 in restitution. do you have an opinion on the merger between con stie lappings and exelon? they're deciding whether to

has been returned and plans are in the works to honor the blessed mother. >> reporter: while the six-foot statue of the virgin mary has been restored to her full glory after she was destroyed by vandals last month. it was toppled over. the structure's left hand fell off and went missing. the statue as always been a beautiful center piece, so finding it vandalized was devastating. >> sometime in march of the current year on an early sunday morning we discovered the statue was landed on -- lying on the ground and the left hand was broken and we couldn't find it. >> the statue is very

significant. it's hurtful. we couldn't understand why someone would want it do that. >> reporter: they have worked hard to get this restored. more than $32,000 was donated by the parishioners. the newly restored virgin mary sits on a structure that is brightly lighted at night. >> at the same time we decided we would put a sign on that corner. we never had that before. it took us awhile to agree on a design and have it made and installed. we were working with that over the summer. in the late fall we started the construction and sigh mull tain yulesly we had the -- simultaneously we had it restored. the project was finished just before thanksgiving. >> reporter: on deals 8th, the church will hold a special mass. reporting from towson, abc2

i gotcha. maryland's most powerful radar showing the rain coming down big time, basically cecil county and right down through the eastern shore here. we're getting the rain good in caroline county through queen anne, a good swath of rain, some of the heaviest towards charleston. how much rain? we don't have the final one. to the west close to an inch, mt. airy, german town, half an inch in columbia, half an inch in bowie. gusty winds as the front came through. temperature is 50. that will be dropping. as i take a look at some of our hd weather bug cameras, you can see downpour after downpour, a little bit of late day clearing. you blink, you missed that.
