tuesday. jeff tells you police say they got tens of thousands of dollars worth of things. >> reporter: the home fully decorated with holiday wreaths. the christmas came early here for burglars tuesday as they stole $26,000 worth of items after the homeowner left for work. > looks like someone kicked through the door frame, kicked the window out. reached inside and unlocked it, got inside, stole a lot of things. . >> reporter: televisions, jewel jewelry, money, and the entire wardrobe of polo shirts and an enxpensive gibson guitar that he got as a teen. they hit the same home four months ago and this time the victim isn't taking any chances. >> we are just putting in a

new door, think he is going with security system, maybe cameras, just motion detector, light and all. >> reporter: the victim's truck was in the driveway at the time of the burglary and there are neighbor was a clear view of the driveway just across the street. that wasn't enough to keep the him burglars from striking here a second time. in carroll, jeff hager. >> all right. if you saw anything out of the ordinary on tuesday or if you have any information are you asked to call the tip line. >> and today the family of a 9- year-old killed two years ago in a camming accident. the final lawsuit against the county, noah was struck in the head and killed by a falling tree back in 2009. it happened between christmas and new year's of that year and

now his family is suing the county for $12 million in a wrongful death suit. they believe that the hundred foot tree had obvious signs of decay and that the county should have removed it before hosting a camp. >> i hope it makes them aware that you know they need to be mare aware of people's children. the safety of everybody's kids going there and stuff. i never thought anything like this would happen. >> reporter: they say it's yet to receive the lawsuit and has no comment right now. police want your help trying to find a missing 14- year-old who hasn't been seen since last month. police say madison davis was last seen on the night of november 30th on liberty parkway when she told a friend she was waiting for someone in a green car to pick her up. her family hasn't heard from her and reported her missing on december the 2nd. police say she has brown hair,

blue eyes, and if you know anything about her disappearance call the police. efforts to legalize same sex marriage in the state has another ally. the baltimore mayor is the latest among several politicians and stars here in the state to come out in support of same sex marriage. >> marriage protects families and couples regardless of sex deserve the same legal protection. it's only fair. it's only right. our state must act to make it so. >> the adds are being put together by marylanders for marriage equality and it joins those from the governor, lieutenant governor, monique and they are expected to be one of the hot buton issues in the upcoming assembly. snoot odds long for a transplant patient, most die waiting, especially those waiting for a lung transplant.

feds they can save a lot more lives each year. >> about 18 patients in the united states that die a day not having organs. that's all -- but the lung is a part of that system. by able -- by being able to recycle the organs like this, using those that would have otherwise been thrown out we can save lives. >> reporter: a present that susan says gave her her life back and her breathe. >> when you think about what they can do, yeah, and the more time you have to sit there and think about it and the impact it has on you. that you have been given this gift actually that's what it is to me. >> the procedure has been used in canada and in europe but this is the first time it was done in the united states. a lot of study is being done at maryland and other hospitals but if they are good and it's approved doctors think they may be able to triple the number of

decommissions 25 years ago and today the coast guard commanded was on hand to remember pearl harbor and the role the ship played and also on hand a survivor of the attack. >> all of the sudden, there was a incredible -- blasting around and about that time the plane went -- i said -- i can't tell you what i said. i said oh shucks. >> i could listen to him all night. the ship is permanently docked along pi er6. all right the time of year to give back and give to the needy kids in the area. coming up that's what police officers were doing today. the holiday spirit to children in need. >> the time people are stresses but they need to be good shoppers.

take a look. i wanted to show you the majeure we have. this is deep creak lake. earlier this afternoon. look at that. those trees bending, going to be a good weekend to ski out in w isp. here in the city temperatures still way above freezing. we have seen this situation before in december. right now, rain coming down. 50 degrees, winds northwest at 13. temperatures starting to drop. the highs today up above 60, the road surface temperatures below or at 60 degrees. we have a great holiday photograph in, got to get it in -- this is -- you talk about major decorations, this is -- just a great sight. i had to get it in there.

right now cold weather pushing in to western maryland. oakland below freezing. no shocker there, north winds, temperature also drop, rain will continue to fall. eventually we will see a brief change over. visibilities also low with all the rain reducing how far you can see out there. drive with caution. temperatures today the highs were up well above 60. even as we get the change over on the back side of this, a lot of this will just melt on contact. it'll -- the wet surfaces, hit the above freezing areas and that will cause a melt. well north, well west of the city there will be accumulations, take a look at that. you can see the snow band on the back edge of this. most of that is in very high terrain. it's that the back part that have precipitation is going over the mountains which cools off faster of course, timing wise, after nine the advisory, change over, 11, one and then
