the injured were students who were in the hallway at the time of the fight and got caught up in it. >> the boys, they were pepper sprayed. >> this was crazy. people were running around yelling. the teachers were just standing there telling us to go to class. >> many parents were upset that the police used pepper spray to break up a fight. the county said using the spray was the best way the officer could control the situation. >> the pepper spray is a tool that's usedcationally in -- used occasionally in an effort to break up a fight. >> the students who were injured were taken to area hospitals and they had minor injuries caused by the pepper sprai. the school was evacuated for

about 45 minutes. one student who was in the fight was arrested. shortly after 3:00 this morning, baltimore city police arrived to e convict protesters. police in riot gear forced them out of mckeldin square and threw the tents into dumb trucks. police removed 50 protesters, telling them they had 20 minutes to leave the park. they did not put up a fight. >> ran around, got some things. we didn't have time to get most have you our things. pretty much everyone woke up. we stood over here. they started taking stuff down. >> i think every occupy they disbanded, it increased the numbers 10-fold.

>> police made no arrests during the raid. mayor stephanie rawlings-blake released this statement op the occupy baltimore raid. the city of baltimore is committed to protecting individual's rights to protest. however our public parks and green spaces should not be treated at permanent camp grounds. individuals are free to asell bell and demonstrate within the guidelines p.d protesters were given the option of going to a nearby homeless shelter. the city made arangements for them to pick up their belongings at a sanitation area in cherry hill. a police officer mr. not face charges in the shooting death of elk ridge teenager jeffrey nichols. prosecutors said the actions were justified. police said they were aware of nichols and had responded to his

running in the low 40s. we have some bright sunshine. a chilly start. we'll talk much more about the next system that could bring us some rain, more on that coming up. now to a developing story out of washington where the national transportation safety board is recommending states ban the use of cell phones and other electronic devices by all drivers. the cause of that accident was because of the inattention of a 19-year-old driver who sent or received 11 text messages in the 11 minutes prior to the accident. 38 people were injured in the crash. the driver and a 15-year-old student on the school bus were killed. >> it's about a cognitive distraction. it's about not being engaged in the task at hand.

all right. time for all those holiday parties. for grownups it's time to have fun but for the kids, beware. linda so tells us about dangers parents have not yet considered. >> reporter: spending time with family and friends is what makes the holidays special. but it could end up with a treppe to the hospital. >> sometimes we're visiting somebody else's home and they may not have child proofed their home. >> reporter: things like grabbing or pulling on ornaments sends thousands of kids to the hospital. take a look at this party from a kid's perspective. you see decorations aren't the only hazard. >> someone comes to visit and a person leaves a purse on the couch or floor and they may have

cigarettes or medicine. >> reporter: a container of ice melting pellets. >> they clan look like ice cream beads and seem familiar to kids. when a child gets into that it can cause irritation and burns. >> reporter: kids are burned by coffee or hot chocolate because they might not be used to table cloths and be tempted to pull on them. >> often times those wine glass or champagne glasses with a quarter inch on the bot to -- bottom. >> reporter: take a moment to see the house from your kid's level. it could put unseen dangers in perspective. >> candles are also popular. make sure they're out of your child's reach.

stick weather. very dry air in place. that dry air did allow things to warm up, into the low 50s. tomorrow we'll add a couple degrees. reisterstown to arbutus. tomorrow, two, three, for degrees warmer. down through anne arundel looking at the low to mid-50s. high thin clouds. there are some showers to the extreme west. don't expect those to bring more than a patch of dries until garrett county. we have a huge high pressure bubble south of maryland. it has not moved much. as long as the high sits to our south, it basically acts like a shield and skirts those showers around to our north and west and keeps us high and dry across the

part of maryland. still think we're dry many then our frontal boundary will push in on thursday, arriving late thursday. that will mean showers. the thursday evening commute could be a wet one. we stay dry. your two-degree darn tee tomorrow we'll bump it to 52, at least a few sunny peeks. tomorrow night temperatures falling to the mid-30s with a mostly cloudy sky. your seven-day forecast not a bad one. get into mid-december, first day of winter about a week away. we find near 60 thursday with rain showers. much cooler for the weekend. we'll get a fresh cold shot but that comes in dry. this is dry, sunny and chilly.
