struck the boy, she said she was just driving along, minding her own business, suddenly heard a loud and disturbing thump on the front of her car, didn't know what happened. she doesn't believe she was going to fast and police haven't talked about charges in this case. she feels he came out of nowhere and she was unable to avoid him and knows she did strike him. so -- the police, baltimore police came to talk to us with what little information they have. here is what they said. well work they said was basically the facts they know now. they don't believe any charges are pending. they said that the two boys were walking east on putty hill, one of them who was -- we believe 15 ran into the street along putty hill and was struck by one car and then by a second. putty hill is still shut down at this section right now. so this is a road that a lot of

people use to avoid the beltway. that's not happening today. it's affecting photograph nick a lot of other areas. that 15-year-old lost his life in just the blink of an eye around 2:45. the boy has not been identified at this time. we are working to get you that information. if we have new information we will bring you that in this newscast. >> police from four different agencies chase a man from edgewater all the way to lands down and it ends with the suspect shot in the middle of a neighborhood. >> reporter: it started when police tried to stop a car that matched the description of a car that was used in the robbery in baltimore last night. folk who live in the area say it was like watching something out of a movie. >> i walked out and i was like -- my god,. >> reporter: a line of police cars running at high speed through neighborhood streets. >> white car was first and all

the police, you know, 25, 30 homes, right behind him. made a right hand turn that i didn't think they would make it because they were going to fast and then they made another turn up here and that was it. >> reporter: the chase starting in edgewater and ending here. at least 30 miles through three jurisdictions involving police from several counties. the man behind the wheel police say waved a gun at officers as he fled up the interstate. he allegedly rammed two cruisers as he finally stopped. >> he bails out of the vehicle. he is armed as he exits the vehicle. he drops the gun but then he goes to get it back. when he goes to get it one officer from baltimore -- two officers fired. >> shots fired. no officers are hit. they are okay. >> reporter: the suspect is hit

but his injuries not life threatening and in the middle of this area people are seeing law and order, a thing to close to home. >> it's horrible. my son goes to school right here. it was all before he had to go to school. it was chaos. >> reporter: right after this happened schools were placed on lockdown but it was lifted quickly. the suspect was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. police are trying to find why the suspect drove away and if he was involved in last night's robbery in baltimore. abc 2news. >> we have a man shot inside a city barbershop still in the this hour. it happened on hartford near cliff view avenue. this will put us in east baltimore. the 32-year-old was shot in the eye, the finger and the arm. police believe someone wanted to rob him. no arrests have been made. a second -- now we will talk act a court case. there is a court case that should interest anyone with a child in school.

a family suing city schools because they say their son was bullied and the staff did nothing aboutt. we are live on day one of this case. >> reporter: the jury is seated, they heard opening arguments and are now call witnesses. their 10-year-old was a special needs student and was threatened, bullied and beaten at two schools. they have filed a lawsuit against the school board. the couple said they went to the principal several times but the bullies wasn't stopped in either school. now the parents hope this trial will send a message for school systems to put a stop to bullying. >> today to basically try to make the school system correct the problems. which know we aren't the only families. >> reporter: now this trial

will continue tomorrow for a short day and then-continue into next week. >> second teen now facing charges tonight from that fight at chesapeake high in baltimore back on tuesday. police say a 15-year-old faces charges of disrupting school activities and assaulting a police officer. the 16-year-old was facing charges already. a school resource officer had to use pepper spray month break up the fight and that ended up sending 16 students to the hospital and forced the school to evacuate until it could be aired out. two penn state official also be in court tomorrow. the former vice president and athletic director are accused of lying to a grand jury and failing to report sex abuse allegations to police back in 2002. lawyers for both men say they will go forward with the hearing challenge all the evidence. earlier this week jerry

let's get a look at some of the rain coming down on the radar. there is a good amount of wet weather tonight and a lot of it is here on the central part of the western half of the eastern shore. if you get all that. centerville, graysonville, getting rain. denton clearing out and you can see areas just clearing out in the last few minutes. that's all good news. there is a little more rain to the west. we will show you that in second. 78 right now. at pwi. take a look at some of the conditions. mount ee, rie. tough to find sun at all. plenty of rain and if you got caught in the brief downpour that's how it goes. winds out of the south. you can see around six to 12 miles an hour. we have a wind at the top of

the hour. that's a pretty steady south breeze gusting to near 30. the current temperatures around 62 washington, 62 cambridge. you see the first wave of rain, out toward the west, there is another line of rain. that front continuing to drive its way in out of the west. that will take a while to clear through maryland. by morning tomorrow we should have wind shifting north and temperatures starting to drop in to the afternoon. the trend shows basically hit and miss showers through about two in the morning and then we dry out. there is rain to the south of us on friday but appears it stays just south of maryland and maybe hits the eastern shore a little into friday night but i think we are dry around here and cloudier and colder especially into saturday.

. take a look at the health. the pills you take to lower cholesterol could help you fight the flu. that from a study, and researchers looked at data from more than 3,000 patients in the hospital during 2007 and 2008. the flu season then. they found people taking the medications called statens were 40% less likely to die. they say it's to early to recommend getting them to everybody battling serious cases of the flu. the government is now going to put new limits on using chimps in medical research after a group said the tests should be a last resort.
