a bottle of vodka, but it was a dollar spent on a powerball ticket two days ago that came back 125 million. >> i was all butts flies all day yesterday because this is really big. >> reporter: because the randomly drawn winning ticket passed through jeff wesley's hands as he sold it to whomever bought it. part air family that owns this huge for 61 years the wesley's stands to make $25,000 for selling that ticket. the money topping off the excitement publicity and for right now the mystery of who won. >> i've always said that for a liquor store to hit it is almost like you hitting the lottery yourself. it's huge. and i'm very excited. i mean, it's really great. everybody's calling everybody's talking. it's awesome. >> reporter: while they don't know exactly who bought the win can ticket just yet they do have a fairly good idea. after all it was bought exactly at 3:00 13:00 p.m. on christmas eve, and they do

news. now the wesley's did say the winner called the lounge to confirm the numbers but didn't leave the name. he or she has yet to come forward. the wesley's say they will split the money made off this ticket between the family and the employees. we have another feel good christmas story right in our own backyard. a baltimore family welcomed their daughter into the world yesterday. teal barton gave birth to baby ray around 5:20 in the morning at g b mc she wasn't due until january 24th but decided it's too long. teal and her husband were getting some sleep before the holiday got started but wide awake right in the middle of the night. >> 1:00 in the morning i said oh, my goodness neigh mai water just broke. my husband is like are you playing? >> no i'm not playing my water broke. >> baby ray was presented with a christmas stocking knitted by

of wedgewood road and heights hydes. no injuries were reported the cause of the fire is still under investigation. although they were shut down today for the holiday a suspicious package was found at city hall. somebody discovered a food container wrapped in a t-shirt with the word bomb written on it. as a precaution police shut down several streets while they investigated, but the package turned out to be nothing dangerous. all of the streets were reopened just a short time later. baltimore city police are still looking for the person who shot and killed someone over the weekend here in cherry hill. officers found a person who had been shot in the head laying in the grass in the 2700 block of giles road. he was pronounced dead a little before midnight on christmas eve. the corporate world made plenty of news in 2011. we had bankruptcies we had mergers, hacking scandals and of course a tragic loss. abc2 news matt cherry has a

look back at the year in business. >> reporter: the peak book closed on borders in 2011 the retailers filed for bankruptcy after 40 years in operation. it blamed the economy and changing book industry. hackers did their best to disrupt business over the year. companies including lockheed martin nintendo and facebook all fell prey to online attacks. in june citigroup announced 200,000 accounts were compromised. and hackers breached sony's playstation network accesss the personal information of 70 million use earnings. some mega mergers and buy-outs had mergers. microsoft bought skype for $8.5 billion. google she would out 12.5 billion nor motorola cell phone business. at&t hoped to create the largest wireless company in a merger with t-mobil but the

justice department filed to block the merger. millions of blackberry users had to make do without e-mail or text during a three day outage in october that spread to nearly every continent. blackberry maker research in motion offered customers $100 worth of free apps as a consolation. >> the worldwide outages we experienced this week were unfortunate. we restored full service as quickly as we could. >> reporter: netflix lost hundreds of thousands of subscribers after raising prices and attempting to rename its dvd name. it must now get clear consent from users before sharing material. its privacy controls will be subject to independent review for the next 20 years. news corps british paper news of the world was caught in a

year. with steeper post christmas sales lots of shoppers were waiting for the holidays to pass to do buying for themselves. >> you get gift cards and stuff for the holidays it's always a great discount you can combine the two. why not. >> usa today reports predicted 60% jump in day after christmas shopping and the consumer research group shopper track also says this day is usually the second highest revenue day for stores. the gifts we get aren't always exactly what we were hoping for. so if you're planning to hit the mall this week to exchange or return something we've got some tips you should hear before you go. if you plan to take something back it's best to have a receipt you know that. without one you'll only get store credit. want to return something you bought online, check the policy on the web site. a lot of stores will take back items bought through their web sites. if you plan to take something pack, don't destroy the packaging. keep all stickers, labels and tags intact.

>> reporter: santa's not the only one that makes a list and checks it twice. when it comes to scam artists we're also keeping track we've got our own line up of who's been naughty this year. at the top of our list the man accused of stealing money from dozens of local schools and ptas this fall. queen ann counties deputies joseph gill promised ravens players for anti-bullying assemblies kept the funds when he couldn't deliver. after we reported his theft charges and showed you his picture gill was arrested in aberdeen and will spends the holidays behind bars. >> did you take advantage of these people. >> reporter: tommy clack takes the number 2 spot. deserves coal in his stocking for multi-state multi-county paving operation we than covered. after rolling seniors that cost soft them tens of thousands of

scam alert. the computer hacking company that goes by the name anonymous is at it again. this time they claim they stole credit card accounts and other private client information from the u. s. security firm named stat for. several clients reported finding unauthorized transactions from their account. be careful out there. it's a billion dollar industry so chances are you probably either gave oregon a gift card during the holidays. a new survey shows its probably won't even get used. the national retail federation found that $41 billion in gift cards have gone unspent since 2005. it's welcome news for retailers who also usually benefit from customers who do redeem them but ends up spending more than the cards is worth. . still breezy out there tonight. a little breeze on federal hill. 40 degrees right now.

dundalk central parts of the state take a look this one small area of cloud cover really a non-- not an issue. but out south and west we've got more cloud cover rolling in that's the leading cloud shield on a bigger storm. large rainmaker here putting down some pretty heavy and steady rain in tennessee out through arkansas down through louisiana. this texas low is going to come up and bring us quite a bit of rain we think as we go into say after lunchtime tomorrow right through tomorrow evening. in the meantime still another 12, 15 hours of dry, cool breezy weather here across maryland. and timing wise tomorrow you're planning your day out whether you got it off or going back to work clouds increase through the morning but you're dry on the morning commute. as you go towards lunchtime watch out for rain here and better chances as we go toward that evening commute by 6:00 tomorrow evening. that looks like our best chance for some rain around here. will there be any kind of of a wintry precipitation with the system, it doesn't look like it. in fact it looks like only

extreme western misdemeanor will get snow. garrett county washington county points east looks like nothing but rain. clear and cold less breezy by the time we get to the overnight hours. the winds have died off quite a bit. tomorrow up to 48 clouding up as we see rain developing through the afternoon hours lasting into the early evening hours. then we'll taper those off to just a few showers remaining toward tomorrow night. but again it all ends before we would get cold enough to produce any kind of wintry weather. your 7-day forecast looking ahead to the new year. yeah. temperatures will moderate after a chilly day wednesday with breezy conditions. we push back to near 50 both friday and into new year's eve saturday. so right now jamie looking like a pretty decent start to the new year. it looks like december will go out on a fairly quiet note. >> okay. and cincinnati is going to have what about in the 40s? >> i think it's very similar to here weather wise.
