region. down to dc, one problem to report on i-9 a, three lanes blocked i-95, you may want to hop on u.s. 29. it's looking pretty good at maryland 108. the beltway, quiet conditions for you this morning on the northside of 695. this just in to the abc2 news room, row house fire happened in north baltimore. a man and woman made it out after the flames shot through the duct work. medics took the woman to the hop. two other people living next door also suffered minor smoke inhalation. no word on the cause of the fire. developing story this morning, a maryland family is frantic after their blind grandson vanished. mitchell smith was seen december 16th, getting on a train in dc. abc2 news linda so is standing

by with more. >> reporter: police received conflicting reports of when mitchell smith was last seen. one thing they know is he never reached his final destination in alabama. smith boarded a train bound for birmingham december 16thel a passenger says she saw him headed to new orleans when a conductor said he couldn't get to birmingham and get off the train in charlotte. his grandmother smith says she bought his ticket to birmingham and never knew about a transfer. it's unlike him to go this long without calling. >> something is wrong. i believe now that amtrak put him on the wrong train. >> smith is 5 is 1'", a scar op his right temple from a shooting that left him blind. he sometimes wears dark glasses and carries a red and white cane. if you have information, call

911. linda so, abc2 news. investigators in pg county, officers are trying to track down the person who beat a 70- year-old woman. he broke in through the front porch window and trashed the place before attacking the woman. she woke up to find a man in her bedroom. after he left the victim crossed the street and asked the neighbor to call police. >> she was covered in blood, badly beaten and i made her sit down, went and got a towel and was starting to wipe off some of the blood. my husband called the police and the ambulance. >> the victim has lived in the neighborhood for 20 years. police say they don't have a description yet on the suspect. investigators in howard county are trying to figure out what started a fire at a motel. this happened around 9:00 at the white elk motel in elk ridge. it took firefighters 15 minutes to get the flames under control, no one was injured.
