and some icy spots possible this morning. already angela talking about accidents, and we will try to highlight that in a moment. let's zoom past the almanac. normal low mid-20s. 26 towson and 28 churchville where they had snow and maybe icy spots this morning. even on the eastern shore you had snow and 30 degrees in centerville. 29 in southernville. i would say confined around the bay and on toward the eastern shore temperatures with sunshine will get back to around 40. so actually it will feel warm of some sort this afternoon. here angela with traffic. >> reporter: all right. as you mentioned, a couple incidents going on and, of course, due to the icy conditions, we reported an early morning water main break that had some road closures involved with that at philadelphia road and golden ring road. all lanes reopened but plan for reduced speed in that area. if you are planning to head out shortly. let's get a live view of the traffic flow south of the city. u.s. 29 at maryland 108 off to

jobs bank to help teens look for open positions and connect with potential employees. president says it's important for the future teaching young people the importance of having a job. linda so, abc2 news. a texas middle school will be closed following a police- involved shooting on the campus. 15-year-old jaime gonzales was keeled by police after refusing to drop his -- was killed by police after refusing to drop his gun. officers repeatedly order him to drop the pellet gun but he refused. prior to officers arrived he assault another student. >> fortunately no one else was hurt in the incident, and that's what we are grateful for. >> we commend the actions taken by those involved. >> the school will open for students tomorrow. and police are trying to figure out why he brought the gun to school. you probably have seen the signs at gas stations multiple times warning about static electricity. make sure to pay attention to

them. look at that. an ace lo hame -- an oklahoma woman was filling her car with gas and got inside because it was so cold. that created static electricity so when she got out to click off the pump you see the result. getting in your car is the main way to create the static electricity that can then lead to the spark. caught on tape a. car stuck on a roof in california. police say the driver made a sharp u-turn and hit a curb and hit some large rocks which propelled his car into mid-air and came to rest on a roof of an apartment building. crews called in a crane to get the car off. some police are saying the car was stolen. and the driver broke his leg and the people who live in the building thankfully none were hurt. a stop at an atm cause as pregnant woman to head to the hospital and it had nothing to do with the bank balance. the events that led to her giving birth three weeks before she was due. and what does david

now "good morning maryland." the iowa caucus in the rear view mirror and the race for the white house continues. candidates are headed to new hampshire. and corinne redman is standing by with the breakdown of what is ahead in the state. >> reporter: the major headlines making news this morning in the presidential race heading into new hampshire are the mitt romney is facing harsh attacks and rick sar tore aim near win is bringing the campaign more than a million dollars in one day. as for the race for the republican nomination road for few ham sure, the effort to

stop mitt romney is intensifying after a disappointing showing. former house speaker newt gingrich is on a crusade to stop romney and supportsers of john huntsman are running hard hitting ads against romney. >> he is a moderate massachusetts republican to the left of the vast majority of republicans. >> you think we could get more than an 8-vote margin here in new hampshire in i will try. >> reporter: now with a double digit lead in new hampshire, polls show romney is looking ahead to traveling to south carolina today with senator mccain but four years ago mccain called him a flip- flopper. the state senator nancy jacobs will run for congress. the republican now represents cecil and harford counties. she has been in the senate since 1999 and severed as the senate minority leader last year and faces a former aide to

andy harris, in the gop primary. the winner will take on dutch ruppeersberger. u.s. airways is expanding service at reagan national airport. they will fly to 11 new destinations and add three flights to three existing destinations. the new flights will begin in two-phases on march 25th and july 11th for destinations including pensacola, florida, memphis, tennessee and little rock, arkansas. it is complete u.s. airways says it will offer more than 230 flights to and from washington up from 171. lion king is bringing in the bucks for the hippodrome. last year they grossed 1 1/2 million setting a box office record for the theater so. far, the lion king made 5.3 million dollars and a week remaining for the engagement in baltimore. show runs through sunday, january 8th and you've not been to see it it is highly recommended. a dollar general is expanding and that means thousands of new jobs. the company says it would add 625 stores and 6500 new jobs in

the coming year. the new stores would be in 38 states including maryland and the chain for the release has not had specifics nor the locations for the stores and they don't know those either. consider the. grace said that they had a good snow squall that laid a nice coating on the parking lot. i expect if they got more than just a coating, it could have been a inch or half inch and because they have been milder, they may have had some melting and refreezing overnight. we yesterday talked about the burst of snow that we had the day before and expect another one last night and we got it. that is the issue. looks like it may have been around annapolis and mere pasadena and reports of flakes on the cars and across kent island on the eastern shore. let's put it in motion that's out to sea. the next disturbance is sliding through but it lost the moisture because this flared up and stole it from plan b here. but we are dealing with clouds this morning. cold temperatures and look out for some possible icing spots. temperatures 29 in baltimore and we are looking for temperatures to warm up as we respond with sunshine. wind will shift directions and i want to run through the maps and highlight the fact that
