the winds howling. very gusty. that's the main story for today. but the saturday m light and radar not picking up on a lot. the cold front is sliding through at area and clearing things out as high pressure makes its way back in going throughout the day today. if you want the snow, you will have to head up into pennsylvania and west virginia. there's getting a few flurries across the area. but temperatures you can see where the cold front made its way through. oakland very cold coming in at 25 there. and 44 in baltimore and we are dealing with the wind so the winds are gusty. check out joppa close to 40 and 30 in bel air for a gusts and 32 in towson. and man chaster 40-mile-an-hour wind gusts. it's going to be windy so let's check the traffic with angela. you have to hold on stot steering wheel with both hand. >> reporter: we are gearing up for windy drive. wind warming effect on the bay bridge traveling on 50. also on the east side of 695, wind warnings in effect for the key bridge there.

and due to the wind, we are dealing with problem in myersville this morning. southbound lanes of wolfville road a tree has fallen across the southbound lanes. police are directing you around the scene of that. otherwise, no reported troubles so far making the drive on 29. we are delay free and incident free there. and if you are traveling on the harrisburg expressway, look like a good wednesday morning commute so far on i-83. 83 at maryland, 45 your southbound volume picking up between middle belfast. over to you. >> the day five of the search for any survivors aboard a cruise ship off the italian coast and now it's a race against time to find some of the dozens still missing. the ship's captain is under house arrest so for more let's go over to sherrie johnson with developments. >> reporter: well, we have learned in the past hour that search teams have suspend operations due to large waves washing up against the ship. the death toll has risen to 11 dead and 29 missing including

an american couple barbara and gerald hill. the captain is under house arrest accused of steering offcourse causing the wreck and abandoning the crew and passengers. the wife of the italian captain was swarmed by media as she returned home this morning while her husband went through a back door. an audiotape from the night of the wreck shows the coast guard order the captain back aboard while sat safely on a rescue boat. >> you are in charge of those lives and you have to be responsible. and he wasn't. >> he was a coward. i mean. we are fighting for our lives and he is more concerned about himself. >> reporter: the captain never returned to the ship leaving the crew and passengers to save their lives without him. crew members say he was eating dinner when the ship ran aground and long gone when the evacuation order was given. sherrie johnson, abc2 news.

in news around the nation, investigators in los angeles are now hoping to come up with a identity of the victim whose head was found. it was in a plastic bag and found by two dogs with the women as they were walking. police say the man's head didn't appear to have been there for very long. they are going to go back in the area later this morning to search for more possible clues. and new information released by police in colorado. help to answer a number of questions about how a man's decomposing body went unnoticed in a theater bathroom for five days. the man died of a heart attack on the toilet. that according to a 21-page police report where police attempted several times to get theater employees to thoroughly check the premises for the missing man. five employees have been suspended and the movie theater is conducting its own investigation. a routine traffic stop led police to charge a woman with animal cruelty. officers discovered 128 dogs in one u-haul truck. police near memphis say the dogs were crammed in three or

four to a crate and packed inside. they were the dogs in a white meny van attached to the truck. officers say it's likely the animals had not been walked or fed in days and they were living in complete filth. they are being looked at by animal rescue groups this morning. it's 5:34. and jubilation in washington for a washington state family rescue crews found the man after he was missing in mount ranker in the national park. see how the snowy conditions are and he went missing saturday. he was experienced snowshoer but was separated from the group after sliding down a slope. to stay alive, he ate chocolate and kept warm by running in place and kept a fire going by burning his socks and $6 cash in his pocket. he is doing fine and resting comfortably. thankfully in his bed. it's one heck of a mobile. why this boot will be on wheels and where it's going make the next stop and more importantly, why is a big boot on wheels

now "good morning maryland." storms near the missouri- kansas border. check out this lightning in missouri. a spectacular show from mother nature. meteorologists say the storm system produced quarter sized hail and wind gusts up to 60 miles an hour in and this is one boot that would keep you warm probably got interior heat. l.l. bean celebrating a century of business and the company unveiled this boot mobile and it's larger life size version much larger than the life size version of the product the bean boot. the boot mobile is headed for new york and will hit other

now "good morning maryland ." occupy protesters have returned a long day in d.c. they spent the day occupying congress, supreme court and white house. linda so is here with a wrap of what happened. there were a little bit of a skirmish outside the white house. >> reporter: there was. but before we get to that, we have learned a house oversightsomebody committee will hold a hearing on why protesters have been allowed to stay in mcpherson square despite a ban on camping on state park. four people were arrested. it began with a stop at thenation's capital where they -- capitol where they chanted and sang as than marched up constitutional avenue to the supreme court and then off to the behight house. at one point-- white house. at one point a secret service spokesman says the crowd swelled to 1500 police bringing out police in riot gear and someone threw a device believed to be a smoke bomb over the white house fence.

no one was hurt. the crowd was told to leave and everyone did. >> this is about income and equality and this is about rights for people. >> reporter: the president and first lady werer celebrating michelle obama's birth date at a restaurant during the incident. news time is 5:45 and grand jury indicted a idaho man accused of shooting at the white house. you can see mug house of oscar ortega her nan disease -- hernandez. he was accused of firing multiple shots out of the window of a car in november. they say he then drove off but crashed the vehicle nearby and had to run away on foot. ortega hernandez said he was car jacked and the attacker must have fired the shots. hopefully you've gotten your wikipedia searches done for the date and it's not dash and it's not 6:-- and it's not even 6:00. this is the online enpsych low peeda where it went to black

protesting antipiracy legislation up for debate in congress. two bills known as sopa and pipa target overseas sites allowing useers to share illegal down loads of movies, music and other digital contentment it will try to cut off access to the sites by requiring u.s. search engines and other providers to withhold services. >> in the worst versions of the bill, wikipedia would be a search engine and would not be able to even link to something like the pirate bay even in our description of what it is. that's problem and raises serious first amendment issues. >> the sopa would open away for websites to be shut down for copyright inspringment. white house says it's a problem but has come out against the bill saying they limit freedom of expression. an antiprofanity crusader against abc is now saying pull tonight's episode of modern
