4:00 pm
i'm beth troutman. are you ready for some of the best videos and stories of the day? we're going to show them to you "right this minute." the video shows an lsu fan passed out and rival fans messing with him.
4:01 pm
then -- >> somebody takes it to the next level. >> the shocker that led to a criminal investigation. violence and tears as bulldozers plow through a neighborhood in cambodia, as it just crashes through this family's home. see what's behind the forced evictions and why people are not going to go quietly. a big brother issues a money challenge to his little brother. >> whatever he catches, he can keep. >> hear how much was in that fist full of dollars and meet the dudes behind the video payday. >> just got a lucky catch. and seattle copes with rain that's frozen. >> it's like nature's snow cone. >> having fun in the city with the white stuff. we're going to get this edition of "right this minute" started with a controversial story that steven found for us. >> i've got a case of sports fan dom gone too far. the video is making some big waves on the web. let's go back to january 9th
4:02 pm
after the bcs title game between alabama and lsu. alabama won that game. crystal burger on bourbon street what we're seeing in the video is annulus fan passed out at crystal burger. some alabama fans messing with them, putting frempl fry containers down, taking pictures. there's even a point somebody sticks a finger up his nose. harmless stuff for a guy passed out. about three minutes into the video somebody takes it to the next level. a guy enters from the left side of the screen and proceeds to -- i don't know how to put this lightly -- take his junk out, his genitals, and place them all over this guy while people cheer. >> oh, my god. >> here is the thing the new orleans police department is investigating this incident, particularly the sex crimes unit
4:03 pm
is investigating. they are calling this a sexual battery case. if they find this guy, he could be labeled a sex offender if convicted. the suspect hasn't been identified, nor has the victim. the victim may not have to come forward or identified and charges could be brought by the state against the suspect if they figure out who it is. here is an interesting twist as well. wkrg, which is a news station in alabama, when this story broke, they led their broadcast with this video. in a later broadcast their sports director and sports guy randy patrick was kind of weirdly missing from the broadcast. here is why. >> there are many unidentified people in this video. in the interest of full disclosure one of those standing behind the man who passed out is the 22-year-old son of our sports director randy patrick. >> sports director's name randy
4:04 pm
patrick, he looks like he was thinking about maybe taking his pants off or exposing himself before his girlfriend stops him. i want to take you guys to cambodia for a story that might upset you a little bit. what you're seeing are residents of a slum area in phnom penh that houses about 300 families. they are making a makeshift wall, trying to block bulldozers from coming in and completely leveling their neighborhood, so they can make a commercial development. after they build the law, almost celebratory but officers are lined up. they start throwing rocks at the police officers trying to get them to back down, which only makes things worse really because officers come in with tear gas, fire trucks and fire hoses and eventually move over the walls. watch this, it just crashes through this family's home. >> you figure the day before
4:05 pm
people were living there. >> imagine one right now going to your house and doing this exact thing. it's hard to comprehend. >> here you can clearly see the emotions on their faces and see people digging through the rubble and finding anything they can. this demolition happened january 3rd. the reason we're talking about it now, some of these people involved were put in a detention center. this video that you're seeing right now is women and children escaping from the detention center. yesterday in all 22 women and children climbed over this wall in ordero home >>'m'm sure they are all wondering what now, where do we go. since the start of the year brazil has been thrashed with flooding, floodwater, mudslides, visions have been hitting the web.
4:06 pm
these are the latest ones from tuesday. cars are submerged in water. you can see shop keepers basically stuck inside their shops. >> this is right in a downtown business district with cars and a lot of money and merchandise all over the place. >> dozens of people have already died and they are afraid they will lose as many people as they did last year where more than 800 people died. in this video you can see shop keepers sweeping water out of their shops and people trying to walk through the water bare foot. >> you never know what's underneath that water. there could be glass down there, all kinds of stuff. >> the video gives you an idea of the magnitude and strength of the water. this video was taken inside a shop. the water is just rushing down the street and through the glass you see the depth of the water.
4:07 pm
>> this last video shows some of the urban areas affected by the floodwaters. what's most amazing about this video is this building seemed to have dissolved in the water and completely collapsed. it's like a big pile of sludge. last week 115 cities had declared a state of emergency, which is huge economic devastation especially as they are preparing for 2013 world cup and 2016 olympics. dogs can be trained to do certain tasks, robots can be built to do certain tasks. each have limitations. put them together you have possibilities how to rescue people. >> talking about a dog bot? >> not exactly. a dog that carries a robot. this is a communication, a
4:08 pm
demonstration they did for homeland security. they trained search and rescue dogs to find somebody. the robot deploys and that's where they pick up point a view camera from the robot. >> so the snake robot like fixes itself on the person automatically? it's able to do that? >> no. there's somebody controlling the robot. you saw the one shot. they are towing a wire. that's how the robot is controlled through a wire from people further from the scene. >> it actually crawls? >> it does like a wave action. >> looks like it has a 360 degree range so no matter where the camera drops, they will find the person down there. dogs and snakes working together. after deadly flooding, a motorcycle to the rescue, packed down with bags of needed food.
4:09 pm
>> tends to change the center of gravity of the motorcycle. >> see how tough helping out can be. >> if we're going to talk about
4:10 pm
4:11 pm
they got a lot of snow in seattle, washington. >> oh, yeah. >> people have been trying to make the best of it. we have video of people sledding down queen anne avenue. some other folks just slid right down a city street, even ran a stop sign. i don't think there's a lot of traffic out, so it's okay. >> like nature's snow cone. >> and of course they made a parody video. you heard the video stuff girls say. now stuff seattle people say when it snows. >> i miss the rain. >> you expect me to walk to starbucks. >> can i borrow your snowboard
4:12 pm
to go sledding. >> what do you do if you're stuck in a snowy traffic jam. >> tell me, beth, what do you do? >> you have a car snowball fight. >> she threw a snowball at the guy in her car. >> while they are trying to get, they say, to school. >> when you said car snowball fight, i thought it was going to be from car to car. >> listen to the laughter. they are having so much fun. i want to be in the car with these people. >> it's like a new form of distracted driving. instead oftexting while noe driving. >> if we're going to be stuck in this traffic, we're going to have fun with it. >> i like how she did the operation, right-hand on the wheel, scoops snow from the roof and smashes it in. >> this is the happiest traffic jam i've ever seen. the war on film continues.
4:13 pm
we're looking at the battle of esop ridge 2, a viral video ad created by the camera store in calgary, canada. they made it last may and they made it this time. it's a winter battle. i think the pictures from awful these cameras must be awesome. the one there when he knocks the camera out of the other guy's hand, then takes a picture of the camera laying in the snow. >> i like the first version, they take a flash and throw it. >> i like the snow scenery. gives it a world war i type feel. >> great way to get the point across about taking photography seriously.
4:14 pm
>> you guys probably remember last month we saw some serious flooding the philippines, led to more than 1,000 deaths. a lot of people lost their homes. one of the hardest-hit areas was the eastern island they are trying to transport aid to the victims. it's not easy. some people on the smaller side motorcycles are trying to get these big bags of food up the hill. nick, you're a motorcycle guy. how hard is that to balance with two big sacks of food on your bike. >> tends to change the center of gravity of your motorcycle. >> this guy makes it. then this other guy who is trying to do the same thing, you can see right off the bat he's having trouble. on the way up the hill he gets stuck in the rut, you see on the left-hand side of your screen. loses control. he bails before the bike
4:15 pm
lansdowne there in that ditch with the big bags of food on top of it. then the video goes on, century see it takes like four guys to get this thing upright. this gives you an idea of how difficult it is to get this food and this aid out to some of these flood victims. >> you can tell the reason they are starting so far behind, they need to build that momentum to go up that ramp. >> right. >> it's really admirable of these guys to even attempt this. they really are trying to get in and help folks out. obviously it's not an easy job. >> next time on "right this minute." >> do either of these two individuals say ha ha, funny joke, seriously i need a ride to san francisco. >> yes. >> that's next time on "right this minute." $120 to play a game of catch. our contestant is jack. the money is up. see what he snags.

4:18 pm
i'm dedicating this video even though i didn't make it with my big brother. he used to give me money all the time. then davis decided i'm going to see if my brother can get all this money. >> $125. i told jack i was going to throw the money up in the air and whatever he catches, he can
4:19 pm
keep. how much do you think you're going to catch today? >> 25. >> do you have any idea how much he's going to catch? >> i think he's going to catch all of it, because that little guy has moves. >> the little brother. >> five, four, three, two, one. yea! >> caught a big wad. >> $57. yea! >> it wasot a veryell thoughtro >> this one can move. >> then he lays down and rolls in the money. >> we had to get these kids via skype to find out what really went down. "right this minute" we have jack and dan davis. what made you think he was going to make that much pony. >> he got a lucky catch, ended
4:20 pm
up catching half of it. >> how were so many stuck together. >> when i threw it up it didn't spread out. he must have seen this big chunk. >> when you saw that cash meatball in the air, what were you thinking? >> i was thinking i was only going to catch like -- >> a little bit? >> yeah. >> what have you done with the $57. >> saved it. >> jack, how old are you? >> six. >> wow. >> hey, jack, can you describe this move for me. >> we made it up myself. >> is that your signature move? >> kind of. >> i'd love to see you do a celebratory dance for us. >> the robot kind of. >> he has the moves. >> he's got a great big brother, though.
4:21 pm
keeping up with the care of your nails can be so hard, right? after a while you run out of ideas so you go with nothing. >> polish. >> if we're going to talk about nails, let me hide mine before we get started. >> i found this cool blog. this girl has so many cool ideas that actually got me kind of inspired to get back to, you know, getting my nails all prettied up. >> they don't even look real they are so perfect. >> apparently they are perfect. a lot of people say have these been photo shopped. what's going on. she said, no, they are real. my favorite one is this black manicure. pretty cool, right? >> it's matt. like the tips of shiny like a black french manicure. >> looks like the tips are patent leather. >> reminds me of that paint job

4:27 pm
nip over trees, get real close to the mountainside, beautiful, saw some and adrenalinepumping. >> right. of course they hook up a familiar ra, because why would you do this and not have a camera. >> like catching the giant fish of your life and not keeping it. >> i feel like some of these we're going to get a shot of maria singing. >> look how close to the trees. some look a little rough koorks leave a mark, steven. >> tell me if you like this one, speed flying around mountains just wasn't enough of a rush, so they hook their wing and decide to eject. >> they must have an emergency -- >> there's the speed wing, there's the pilot. away goes the speed wing and he goes into a free fall to release another parachute.
