>> i thought that he did his best. that's what i am going with this morning. and you need to do your best to get through the ice this monday. it's going to be icy conditions because we do have a freezing rain advisory. we will have rain showers moving in here going into the afternoon and evening and sun shin returns and -- sunshine returns and we will warm things back up. look at freezing rain advisory in effect until 11 a.m. you can see for the area shaded in purple look towards the eastern shore, you are not under the advisory. that's some good news. but it's going to be slick. take it easy on the roadways. maryland's most powerful radar is dry as of now but will get more active going later. let's go over to angela with your traffic. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. and icy conditions with what -- is what you will have to deal with on the area roadways. no reported accidents especially on the key routes. looking pretty good looking live at the harrisburg expressway. we are good from the pennsylvania state behind as you can see. we are live in cockeysville. 83 at shawan road.

southbound lanes are to the right of the screen. traveling to or from the eastern shore, here's 50 and sandy point. no reported troubles making are way across the bay bridge up to i-97. charley over to you. look out for icy patches when making are way out this morning. the weekend weather still hanging around. and abc2 news linda so is live this morning with a check of the conditions both for foot and if you in the car linda. >> reporter: yeah. off and on we have gotten freezing rain. side streets are going to be an issue for untreated areas. they have turned slick this morning. we are live on dunn barton road and another problem is your sidewalks. the freezing rain we got overnight is not making things better. if you have kid, many area public schools like baltimore county are off today because of a professional workday for teachers. but if you have to head out to work or take a jog, be careful stepping out of your home because it could be slippery

especially for those untreated areas or if you didn't shovel after that snow. it's now turned slick. and make sure when you do hit the road and head to work, that you're careful on the side streets especially neighborhood streets and heading out on the road and bridges because they he could be a little more slick than some of the other areas we have here. but again, on my salt trucks were out. and treating the roads, and another good idea for you and areas around your home is to possibly treat them with salt as well. just deal with some of the slick spots this morning. we are live in rogers forge, linda so, abc2 news. on the sidewalks and neighborhoods we will have more on this throughout the afternoon or throughout the morning rather. >> the afternoon -- shall into the afternoon and things warm up here. crime check they are morning baltimore county catholic priest has been removed from the post. har forecounty sheriff investigators are checking

complaints of indecent exposure and witnesses are saying macstureart bullock was nude where -- max stewart bullock was nude. they removed bullock's faculties to function as a priest. the 47-year-old could face up to three years in prison. we will keep you updated. and a game -- a handful of members at the helpl's lover's motorcycle gang have been arrested in denver and could be expected in court as soon as today. atf agents raided the hideout and arrested 15 members he for violent crime. the gang was formed in chicago in the 60s and president to colorado, georgia, maryland, tennessee and texas. gang expert terrance roberts says the gang is primarily made up of older men. >> we are not talking about traditional gang violence with younger youth that are from 17 to 24. which makes up the bulk of gang violence. we are talking about some guys

grandfathers, some have different professions. >> the agents are not saying exactly what the gang was arrested for, but in general, the gang's been associated with cocaine trafficking and the use of weapons and also of explosives. three people including a howard county police officer are recovering following a weekend crash near mount airy. police say the officer was interviewing a man on route 144 when he was hit by a car. police say the officer was taken to matthew grips into custody after leaving the scene of the crash. they were standing in eastbound lane when a car reportedly driven by rickey epperson hit the two cruisers with the lights on. two sisters in cumberland are dead after the home went up in flames. this weekend, neighbors and friends are remembering both that were's sleep on the second floor of the old brick row house when the fire broke out. their mother and other adults were on the first floor and survivors say the heater burst

into flames and the adults got out among them a 7-month-old child they couldn't reach the children who were upstairs. >> i used to baby sit. coach in major college football history. however, a child sex abuse scandal that rocked penn state cut his career short. he was fired after allegations jerry sandusky sexually molested a young boy. his fans stuck by his side. joe paterno, dead at the age of 85 from lung cancer. a fire happened after 7 that was so bad two people jumped from a second floor wendo to escape. one -- window to escape. one victim sustained critical injuries and sees six others were transported to the -- six others were transported to the hospital. governor barbour approved pardons for 200 people including 14 convicted murderers before leaving office. judge presiding over this says he can void the pardons and send the inmates back to

right now but you will see the lightning bolts and power flashes. this is from eastern arkansas. time for a check of the weather with lynette. >> all right. we are dealing with not a lot of wind this morning. that's good news here. sparrows point around 3-mile-an- hour 2-mile-an-hour wind. that's not the concern. the big concern is the fact we have some rain pushing in and also we are dealing with icing this morning. so the satellite and radar picking up on a big storm in the middle of the nation pushing across ohio. the ohio valley extending down to the south on the backside of the system dealing with snow. we are not going to be seeing snow because our temperatures will start to warm up. right now, though, we are dealing with a couple clouds across the area. so we are going to be seeing that this morning. and be aware of some slick spots on the roadways. speaking of the roadways let's go over to angela and she will give you an update on traffic. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. and good morning as you get ready for the monday morning drive. the icy conditions will impact you especially in your neighborhood getting to the

lynette? >> i have chilly temperatures. we are at the freezing point in baltimore. check out the eastern shore. close to 40. we are well above the freezing mark. now the map that shows the fact we have a freezing rain advisory until 11 a.m. so once again, the areas here shaded in the purple under the freezing rain advisory until 11. but as you look back towards the eastern shore, not under the freezing rain advisory because temperatures are above freezing and that's the way we will be as we go throughout the day. satellite and radar, not picking up on a lot. we have lots of clouds across the area. very overcast and we can see showers and thunderstorms back off towards the west. these are sliding towards the east ahead of a cold front. this cold front will pass the area as we go through late into the overnight. high pressure will build in as we go into the afternoon tomorrow. basically in the morning and the afternoon tomorrow. and as we look at your future trend,. >> the lot to see except we will see -- trend, well, not a lot to see except we will see the rainch the big story very
