evening with icy areas. temperatures have gone above freezing statewide but there could still be slick spots and we still have the fog deal with, so no big refreeze. we dropped to no visibility now in baltimore. bwi reporting less than one mile in fact reporting zero at current. that's has bad as it gets. wilmington just one mile. yes, very decent, very heavy fog across much of baltimore county up through harford and cecil county. the rain clearing to the east. we are seeing improved weather in that respect and the rest of the evening showers over the eastern shore and patchy dense fog throughout central maryland and the western shore and parts of the eastern shore and in fact into the morning we can see some fog. we clear out and warm up a lot by tomorrow afternoon. how long will the 50s last? we'll talk about that straight ahead. >> thanks a lot, wyatt.

seven area, so definitely foggy out. that fog at times getting thicker, at times lifting a bit. we'll continue to see this through the overnight hours, especially now that we have no daylight to help out. laurel today snow slowly melting with above freezing temperatures here at the high school annex but the fog is the big story. this is the contrast. fresh snow on the ground. look at the sunshine in western maryland earlier today. no question about it. we do have clearer weather on the way. they're up above 50. a few showers still pushing east. we've got rain over the beaches but that's about it. across central maryland, you can see we are dry and that's going to continue to be the case. still a moist night with the snow melt and the thick fog. in terms of new rain we're not seeing much of that. the chilliliest spot on the -- chilliest spot on the map is

baltimore. 50 at deep creek. nearly 50 at oat heat where -- ocean city where they had a warmer pattern. central maryland struggling to get to 40. take a look at the overall regional pattern. rainfall abating. still more dense fog in areas through the overnight. some of this could last into your early morning commute. we'll clear out quickly. you already see clearing out to the west. as we take a look at the overnight pattern another frontal boundary. it will clear our weather. we can see that on our future trend model, cloudy, chance for showers and then we'll top at 10:00 a.m., about the last of any fog should be burning off. we're left with that clear afternoon into tuesday and into

one of the bills that did not pass last year is marriage for same sex couples. o'malley said his stance is simple. >> that churches, synagogues will be free to define it as they wish. >> reporter: the governor wants to see more off shore wind energy from maryland. >> there's no way we can reach our renewable energy portfolio, unless we have this big chunk from the energy resource available to m. and her gee hog gray if i, which is atlanta offshore. >> reporter: many involving job creation are related to tax increases and a possible gas tax increase to create infrastructure jobs. >> it should be one of the more interesting ones that we have, given the issues better at hand. it's unfortunate in an economy where people are struggling -- >> reporter: some republicans

million in the 24 hours that followed his victory in south carolina over the weekend. when you talk about the sunshine state, there are other factors. there are 10 media markets. sometimes the ad space can be way more expensive in iowa, new hampshire as well as south carolina. that might play to mitt romney. between mitt romney's campaign as well as one of his super pacs they spent a combined $5 million. kelly, you can clearly see where newt gingrich will have catch-up. one of the super pacs plan to be very competitive. >> eight days away from the primary but a number of votes have been cast in florida. what can you tell us about that? >> reporter: we're talking about early voting. early voting in florida started over the weekend. so far 53,000 have cast their ballots. florida isn't out almost a half

million absentee ball lets and we have 183,000 returned. that group of voters will not see some of these ads, things like this. >> lots of florida families lost everything in the housing crisis president newt gingrich crashed. gingrich was paid by the agency that helped create the crisis. >> reporter: many believe mitt will been fit. he's had people on the ground as well as across the state calling those voters in florida to try to get them on his team. i guess we won't know anything until the votes are cast. >> eight days from florida but one of the candidates is looking past that. >> reporter: we're talking about ron paul. we learned from his campaign that he's not even going to be in florida on campaign day.
