know it's a foggy day. looking like it's moving pretty well. the big question is when will the rain move out. we have a look at the forecast. that cold rain is gone. that's near the eastern shore but less than third of a mile, baltimore, wilmington, that is dense fog. it's that i-95 corridor. has you go south through d.c., visibility is improving. in those areas no problem. temperature wise, will we see a refreeze, i don't think so. temperatures have stabilized in the mid-30s. many spots are warmer. i think temperatures will hover. not that there couldn't be an ice cry spot where areas have not had a chance to completely melt.

more injuries. i'm grateful they all got out. >> investigators are still working on the cause but so far they have not found anything to suggest this was an arson fire. a dozen people were forced out of their homes after a two alarm firement this broke out about 7:00 on the third floor ball conning in. it damaged six apartments. no one was hurt. the cause is under investigation. also in perry hall, looking for a descrifer who hit and killed a 68-year-old woman. this happened just after 7 last night on seven courts drive. two cars were traveling when one car allowed the victim to cross. the second victim went around the first car and hit the woman. the driver left the scene. the woman later died at the hospital. anyone with information is asked to call police. now to towson where there

interactive map. all right. absolutely a nothingy -- foggy night out there, that damp chill in the air. it makes the old joints, old hinges act up. we're seeing some clearing and bit of a warmup. 100% humidity. visibility women under a half a mile -- well under a half a mile. you can see the clouds holding tough and the fog at times getting more dense. then letting up a little bit and getting more dense again. look at ellicott city. tough to see at times. that's going to continue to be the case, especially as we lose daylight. toward frostberg, the sunshine

came out. that's what we'll see. after morning fog things improving. maryland's most powerful radar, we're sitting clear. as we look at the overnight hours this will not be new rain but new fog. temperature wise interesting, as i was pointing out, 46 at the beach. 50 in the mountains, in the 30s through central maryland where we never saw as much as a peek of sunshine today. look at the visibility reports. less than a half mile, one third of a mile in baltimore and one third of a mile in wilmington. this corridor absolutely fogged in, really dry. you see on the eastern shore we have cleared out 10-mile visibility. so 10-miles is normal. temperatures never getting much above 40 but still enough to melt things. not nearly has much concern for

-- as much concern for ice. we saw that brief clearing, but the real clearing is out to the west. they're sitting crystal clear. that weather is moving our way. we're looking at a pretty fast pattern that will push this boundary out to sea overnight into the day tomorrow and by say 10:00, 11:00, we should really begin to see improvement, clearing skies will mean temperatures will rise into the low 50s. tomorrow you can probably go golfing in the afternoon. there will be a lot of mud. wednesday we'll go with upper 40s. tonight down to 36, patchy drizzle. widespread dense fog that could last in spots, say north eastern maryland through daybreak. then we improve quickly. that fog lifts, burns off, sunshine 52. tomorrow night down to 30 with

just a few clouds. seven-day forecast. bottom line as we've seen all winter, we bounce back into more mild conditions and as we look to the weekend, some clearing, some sunshine and i think we will get colder by sunday. the bottom line, this is good stuff for late january. keep that in mind. >> i guess we're bouncing back in a good direction. >> got to get the fog out. after that we're in good condition. in tonight's health alert, smoking is so addictive but many people still light up even when they're seriously ill. researchers looked at smoking rates in lung and colorectal patients. 14% of the colorectal patients still smoked. five months later those patients were still smoking. lung canners who still lit up -- cancer patients who still lit up
