above normal and we have showers moving here as we go into thursday. speaking of the showers, we're looking at maryland's most powerful ray dare right now. we're not dealing with any type of wet weather whatsoever. but as we head into tomorrow and friday, that is when we'll see the chance for showers to work they're way into the picture. but temperatures this morning, not so bad, 34 degrees in easton and 35 degrees in frederick. and now over to angela for a check of your traffic. good morning. we're doing great on the roadways. we're off to a wonderful start for the wednesday morning drive. here's what you'll find. easy driving conditions in the city and the beltway. for those of you that travel on the harrisburg expressway, you're looking good. traffic flow easy from the pennsylvania state line. we're picking up in volume around belfast road. but use continue southbound in the crockesyville region, no report incidents there. and here's what it looks like

in glen burnie at maryland 100. open and clear for you all the way up to the beltway. our drive times in excellent shape so far this morning, just a five minute drive to the harrisburg expressway and clear to the beltway. and if you're traveling on 95 from white marsh boulevard, six minutes there. and bel air to providence, six minutes and seven minutes to 695 west side from 795 to i-70. a major report released overnight letting us know how maryland public schoolteachers are doing. sherrie johnson has been pouring through that data. she has a report for us now and what did you find? >> reporter: it's about 170 pages long and this report gave maryland public schools a d plus. this report come is from the national council and teacher quality. it works to ensure that every child has an effective teacher. maryland schools improved in

public education between 2009 and 2011. maryland improved slightly. they went from a d to a d plus so a little improvement. they remain the same with c plus in expanding the teacher pool. there was a slight improvement from a d to c in identifying effective teachers. but it does show that the state slipd when it came to retaining teachers. and maryland received and f in getting rid of ineffective teachers. and maryland's overall progress from 20109 to 2011 ranked number 17 nationwide and the state received a moderate report. you can find all of this information on abc2news.com. the story is the slide show once click on the story, we actually have a link here to the national council on teacher quality and if you click on that link, it will bring up the website and the entire report. like i said here, it's about 170 pages. but it gives you all the

information there on this new report. reporting live, sherrie johnson, "abc 2 news." the national council and teacher quality are saying that teachers are seeing tenure protects falling. it is now based on performance instead of seniority. eight states require teacher performance to decide whether the teacher gets tenure. should teacher performance be based on merit alone or should tenure play a role? let us know what you think. to indianapolis, the work crews are working to complete super bowl village before the opening in an effort to help avoid large crowds to wait for restaurants. and now there will be 15 teams

the hule low chicken. you missed out. i love it and the other thing that i love is we're dry this morning and the temperatures are not as cold as they should be. 32 in baltimore that is freezing. but when i tell you how cold we should be, you'll think that 32 is no big deal. we should be at 34 degrees. we seat 30s across the board and upper 30s in washington d.c. right now. satellite and radar not picking up on a lot. these are the high level clouds to mid-level clouds and that is what we'll see push in as we go through the day. this is all ahead of the system that will work its way in here as we go into tomorrow, maybe a little bit of some sleet as we go into early tomorrow morning. but i think that for the most part, the bulk of the action will get in here a little later in the day. and future trend going to pick up on what i'm talking about here. you see the clouds moving as we work our way into thursday afternoon. we could see some showers in the forecast t goes back into motion and we can see that
