afternoon are life threaten. he was a priority one patient and had to be transported to shock trauma by helicopter. after that fight rescue crews responded, found him there on the ground, realized the situation and called in the helicopter to broad neck high school. he has injuries that are considered life-threatening. this happened as schools were ending. not too far away from the bay bridge in anne arundel county. this actually happened down off an access road that leads to chestnut tree drive, a road that runs behind broadneck high school. the fight was in that area. we talked to neighbors who say it's not uncommon to have a lot of kids walking through that neighborhood after school ends. it's a gray area because it's not exactly school grounds.

so it's something neighbors say they deal with on a regular basis. once again, an 18-year-old with injuries so critical that he had to be airlifted to shock trauma. he has life-threatening conditions at this hour. thanks. in howard county authorities there have received several calls about strangers approaching children. they have received five calls since january 3rd. three of the calls were from the elk ridge area. the others from ellicott city. some have occurred near a bus stop. police are looking into the report and are keeping a close watch on schools and bus stops in the area. a shake-up is underway as the city's top cop has gone outside to clean upruption inside -- corruption inside that department. >> reporter: crime fighting is

difficult to know, but when cops turn criminal it can undermine the credibility. a reincident towing scandal involving dozens of officers underscores that problem for the baltimore city police department. >> the towing scandal. an officer selling heroin. they just didn't pop up in terms of their bad behavior since i came on the scene. they've been doing cruddy bad stuff for awhile. >> reporter: in an effort to uncover it, the city's top cop is shaking up the top brass, bringing in an outsider to lead the intern am investigation eye can count the number of all the baltimore police officers that i know. >> reporter: the chief spent 22 years with the federal drug administration and now will police the police, weeding out those who go astray amongst a force of 3,000 officers.

o'malley is apologizing. she spoke at the conference of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. she said delegates who prevented the bill from passing are quote coward. today she said i deeply respect there are strongly held and differing views on marriage quality here in maryland but our our elected officials will come together to address this for our family and children. governor o'malley is backing same-sex marriage legislation this year. a child and an adult were injured during an early morning fire in east baltimore. it started around 4:00 at a home on raven wood avenue. by the time the firefighters arrived, the first floor was engulfed in flames. a child was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. an adult was treated for smoke inhalation and burns.

the cause still under investigation tonight. winds from the northwest around 10 to 15 have made things pretty gusty. earl we had winds up to 40 or higher. they will continue to die off. temperatures are comfortable. after a day we were up in the mid-60s in spots. now we're down in the upper 40s, so cooling off as the northwest winds flow in and clear out the skies. into the day tomorrow we'll see temperatures climb to 50 by noon. it will be a 10-degree cooloff and a change from tomorrow into sunday. we'll talk about what this is coming up. president barack obama finished up a three-day tour. the president met democrats at the end of a retreat on the eastern shore. the president said americans are still hurting and congress needs to accomplish some things and if the republicans obstruct their

bring movies back to towson circle. it will feature five new restaurants, an underground garage and a 16-screen movie theater. the project's builder said it was pretty much a no-brainer. >> it's so nice to come. there is a university. there there is shopping. there are homes there. we're excited enough so a we moved it into our calendar ahead of other projects. >> the project is expected to be complete in twoarn -- 2014. the number of white tail deer that could be harvested in the state have maryland could be cut down by two thirds. the department of natural resources is considering reducing the bag limit for the next two deer seasons.

60s in d.c. culpepper, virginia, the eastern shore, you were in the low to mid-60s. the bottom line is this. clear and breezy. there's some very light showers in the mountains. we're dry overnight into the day tomorrow. there is a system out to the west that i don't think will have a big impact other than to say a cold frontal boundary will come in tomorrow night and not be a dramatic cooldown but that next shot of air that comes in, cooler air by tomorrow night mr. make things breezy. the windiest weather abates. it's calm to start and the winds pick back up. you can see it on our future trend. here's that next cool front, comes through dry. we don't think it generates showers and then we're sunny but cooler on sunday to start it off. sunday we may struggle to get out of the mid-40s. overnight 32, mostly clear.
