let's start with meteorologist wyatt everhart, who is in the storm center with more. >> even if you're a big snow fan, you have to make the best of this. go out there and go for a walk. temperatures are holding up nicely 612 after getting -- 62. we're in the mid to upper 60s across much of central maryland. we're in the low to mid-50s. 60 in d.c. winds blowing out of the south. that's a warm breeze, plus, all the sunshine. it all added up to a rapid warmup. again, very unseasonably mild. just a few clouds out there tonight. into your day tomorrow we're back in the 60s. how's that? the better chance for some hit and mills showers tomorrow. we'll talk about how bigger changes are on the way later this week into your weekend.

abc2's roosevelt leftwich has more. >> reporter: when you got gas last week it was one price, this week it's a nickel to 10-cents higher. the governor wants to raise the gas tax. he is asking to remove the exemption from gas leefnlt currently it's 6%. he would gradually phase this in at 2% a year over the next three years. consumers could spend $3 more 15 years from now. they say it's the wrong idea at the wrong time. >> the way things are these days, you need gas to get home. you need gas to get to work and they charge you more money for gas. >> it's annoying. i literally drive around and i never used to think about.

the driver had trouble negotiating a curve. he was taken to sinai hospital for observation. police shot and killed a man after he stole a police car and ended up in south baltimore. this is an incredibly bizarre story with a lot of twists and turns. baltimore county says they were trailing a car on the beltway which eventually crashed near 95. when the officers stopped the suspected, he attacked them. said he had a gun and stole the squad car. the suspect drove to a motel six, swapped it out for a ford bronco with four other people inside. police arrested three of the people inside while the suspect, believed to be the one who stole the squad car jumped in the driver's seat and drove away. it claim to an end in a shopping center on annapolis road in south baltimore where police say an anne arundel officer and two

baltimore officers opened fire killing the suspect. there are many questions that have to be answered. so stay with abc2 news and abc2news.com. we have new developments in the deadly crash over the weekend near davidsonville. maryland state police told us that toxicology reports indicate that both drivers were driving under the influence of alcohol. however, police have not released what the blood alcohol contents were. four people were killed on route 50 in anne arundel early saturday morning. three were in a car heading in the wrong direction when it hit the other vehicle head on near route 424. state police say an elkton man is dead after trying to steal a riding lawn mower from a home improvement store in cecil county. the suspect died attempting to get away in plain view of the northeast barrack right there on

40. >> reporter: less than 72 hours before this new lowes is scheduled to open its doors to customers, five thieves decide food help themselves. they drove into the storage lot and tried to load this john dear riding moore into the back of this chevy silverado. >> the employee went to the fence, closed the gate so they wouldn't be able to get out and called 911. the suspects got back into the pickup truck and rammed the truck. >> reporter: the suspects were able to drive beneath the gate but lost lawn mower in the process. in their rush to get away the driver pulled off into the path of an eastbound car on route 40 with deadly consequences. >> one of the suspects was in the back of the pickup truck. he was ejected from the truck and came to rest in the ditch
