course, a lot of people firing up the grill. first, take a look at some of the temperatures. we have been running in the mid-50s this afternoon and some in the upper 50s. as we look at the winds, they're light from the northwest, just a pleasant breeze. you can see there's not a cloud in the state of maryland right now or virginia. it's just crystal clear and beautiful. the rest of the evening we'll keep the nice stuff going. fire up the grill. enjoy the nice weather. it will keep going through the evening and not among you'll notice increased clouds. the big difference will be tomorrow afternoon and evening when things will be much different. we'll talk more about that. >> a 17-year-old girl is in the hospital after being hit by a car outside of dundalk high

school around 7:30 this morning. a parent hit the teen. the 17-year-old was taken to hopkins bayview medical center. an elderly woman is injured in an accident. a ford focus was traveling east when this crossed the yellow line and hit the school bus. the bus driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. the other driver was not hurt, but the passenger, a woman in her late 80s was taken to shock trauma in serious condition. a rash of burglaries to tell you about in anne arundel county. there are more than seven home burglaries in a 24-hour period. brian kuebler has more. >> reporter: kelly seven, count them, seven burglaries in just one 24-hour period. anne arundel police said all of the hoaxes are -- homes are

the island. he denies allegations that he was sailing too fast. are you trying to cut down on salt? health officials have come up with a list of the top sources of salt in the american diet and bread is at the top of the list. the centers of disease control and prevention said just 10 foods account for 44% of the sodium. breads and rolls top the list. cold cuts, pizza and poultry were leading sources. salt should be limited to about a teaspoon a day but most people eat way more than that. it seems more people are finding love at the office. career builder's annual office romance found that 38% of workers say they dated a cowork are at least once and about a third said their romance has led to marriage. it found that women were more likely to date someone higher up in the company than men.

the outrage is growing over that mysterious illness in new york state. dozens of students are exhibiting bizarre systems, and no one knows why. >> reporter: there's something strange happening in the small town of leroy, new york. for parent, no explanation has been said. >> i'm done listening to you. >> reporter: about two dozen people, messily teenage girls have developed uncontrollable seizures, ticks and outbursts. at first glance it seemed to mimic tourette's but eight have been diagnosed with conversion, a psychological disorder in which stress produces symptoms.

now. 48 at the beach. 36 well west out in the high terrain toward oakland. the snow was melting a bit this afternoon where they have been using the snow guns at night. winds from the northwest five to 10, breezy, chilly, yes. as we look at those high temperatures, these were a solid 12 to 14 degrees above average with mid-50s, slightly cooler toward cambridge. most spots running warm. clear across not only maryland but most of the mid-atlantic states. fair weather clouds toward pennsylvania. we can see what all the hubbub is about. this is a clipper type storm. these are our weakest type storms. even if we had more cold air in place, which we do not, at most they tend to drop two, to maybe three to four inches. because we will not have the cold air in place, this storm is

likely to put down, at most, an inch to maybe two inches north and that on grassy elevated surfaces. high pressure will keep us dry and clear tonight. we'll she slow changing weather toward the morning, meaning increased cloud cover. we hold off the chance for the afternoon. then we bring in the snow showers from west to east, converting to snow similar to what we had saturday afternoon. then the whole thing blowing out quickly by 8:00, 9:00. it will be a quick mover, quick burst but this will be at a bad time for the evening commute. even if it doesn't stick on the roads, reduced visibility and anything that makes traffic worse like rain or falling snow. even if it's not sticking you have to watch it. tomorrow cloudy early then wintry type showers, get a good burst in the evening. we'll taper off before we dry

there's also growing concern about the growing childhood obesity crisis. but kids still have access to junk food in schools. a report says about half of elementary school students could buy unhealthy snacks at school during the 2009-2010 school year from vending machines and snack bars. spring is still a few weeks away, but many people are definitely already dealing with the springtime allergy problem. that's because the temperatures have been so nice this winter. allergists say the warm weather has many trees budding earlier and it's triggering watery eyes so that mild winter could have you dealing with the results of pollen in the hair already.
