the former lacrosse player killed his etch -- ex-girlfriend. investigators released disturbing new details about the bodies of two young boys who police say were killed by their father in a murder-suicide over the weekend. josh powell's body was found in the home along with a hatchet and the bodies of the boys appeared to be chopped. police believe powell set the house on fishings killing all three. more than a dozen teenage girls are still exhibiting bizarre symptoms like ticks and outburst. the school will do more tests to determine a cause. a doctor diagnosed some with mass hysteria, but parents aren't satisfied with that. a 36-year-old woman is also

having symptoms, too. if you don't want a state gas tax, one of the politicians is on your side. he said it would create tremendous problems for stations and that they would have no close. >> reporter: an industry group outlines what a gas sales tax would cost. they say it would make getting gas such an issue for consumers that small businesses would be squeezed. do you ever see anyone smiling when they get gas? only to get burned away in a four cylinder engine that will demand another $30 fillup in a knew days. maryland's comptroller said gas has become an emotional purchase for consumers. he said the gas tax is only causing one emotion these days, and that's anger. >> the additional sales tax would make maryland the fourth

highest in the united states. >> reporter: he said his office has no indication how a gas tax would be collected and depending on how it's collected it would be a double blow to retailers and consumers. right now wholesaleers pay the gas tax before it gets to the station and that cost is passed on. if they have to collect a gas sales tax that would increase it by $1700 to $1900 on gas that hasn't been sold yet and raise transportation costs by 2% to 6% per truckload. the worst would be the 160 different tax rates because of graded garks formulation of gas, where the gas comes from and by brand. the industry says it would be a headache and wallet ache for everyone. >> every time a consumer comes in to fillup and the gasoline price has gone up a couple of

settlements is almost over. more than 40 states have signed on to an agreement that would force the country's five biggest mortgage lenders to lower rates for nearly a million homeowners. california and new york have held out so far but they are close to joining in on the deal. the number of people living off the government funds is up. the data found more than one in three people in this country live in a household receiving medicaid, food stamps or other type of assistance. if social security is included, that number jumps to nearly half of american households. taking a look at the drive home, looking good. now the weather is nice and cool like this has been all day. you have to wonder how long this beautiful february will last. let's check in with meteorologist wyatt everhart. this has been so nice for the last two days and this

become a target. he looks down at his cell phone unaware that he's being followed. when he leaves the store, that's when the attackers get him. some watch for police while others start brutally beating the teen. two guys record the whole thing on video. a clerk inside the store also sees what's happening, but he's afraid. >> i don't know why they do that. >> reporter: the video showed up on line. police said this is the first they heard of it. it was never reported. federal officials is deciding whether this was a hate crime because the suspects yelled about sexual orientation during the attack. the dramatic video of a motorcycle stunt that went terribly wrong for the driver. a mother takings her eyes off her baby for a few minutes and looks down as the stroller

police are having a hard time finding the man. a michigan motorcycle trick driver got the crowd at a circus going for all the wrong reasons. josh was attempting a huge jump when he hit a wire in mid-air, 25 feet off the ground. he broke several bones. believe it or not, he is expected to recover completely. the wire was not supposed to be there. no kidding. this australian woman looks away from her baby's stroller for just a few seconds when it rolls away, right on to the train tracks. once she realizes what happens, he is manages to grab her baby in the nick of time. the baby was not hurt. near the was the mom. they were an inner harbor staple for decades before closing.
