presidential primary. rick santorum won by five percentage finds and 40% to mitt romney's 35%. mitt romney was earlier in the night was beat by rick santorum in minnesota and the primary in missouri. attorneys on tuesday narrowed the pool of potential jurors in this trial. it's the case of the former of virginia lacrosse accused of killing his girlfriend, a crockesyville native. he pled not guilty to first- degree murder and five other charges to the death that happened in 2010. in annapolis, the penn state child abuse scandal against jerry sandusky will be a hot topic. here's more on the child abuse

scandal against the former coach. >> reporter: more detail are coming out in the pennsylvania state sex abuse scandal. someone reported that he was watching children in a schoolyard from the his back porch at this home. his lawyer says that safety concerns are totallien founded. it would make is a criminal penalty to not report child abuse. the news conference begins today at lawyers mall in annapolis. supporters of the bill will speak at that news conference, including a prosecutor and mother who talk about doing nothing even if they know about sexual abuse of a child. sherrie johnson, "abc 2 news." a fetus was found in a dumpster in harford county.

students. >> reporter: we got our hands on the flyer. and it says that no one is born gay and that homosexuality is a choice. the flyers were sent home with the einstein high school students last week. the group believes that homosexuality can be cured and encourages students to seem help if they have same sexual tractions. they say that they have the right to send home material. some parents and students are appalled. >> we have gay friends at school. to send this out is ignorant and hate. >> and we've learned that the flyers were distributed at four other montgomery county high schools. about 8,000 flyers were sent home with students. supporters of proposition 8

that bans same-sex marriage in california said they're going ask the supreme court to overturn the ruling from the appeals court. it was ruled unconstitutional yesterday. and gay marriages cannot resume in that state till the deadline passes for the supporters of ban appeals to a higher court. they call yesterday's ruling a big win. >> we brought this case for them and the millions of young gays and lesbians in this country in the hopes they might be the first generation to grow up with full and -- eequal protection of the laws. governor o'malley released a statement on proposition 8 saying that the principles of the law and respects for the

freedom will prevail. it is religion versus women's health and that is the growing divorce today. the new obama administration rule requires employers to require full coverage of birth control coverage in their plans even if they work for organizations that oppose contraception. >> i think it's the woman's right to have health care. >> it's a good thing. >> the catholic institution said it is wrong. >> obama administration announced the broad new rule quietly last month saying that it would save lives. but it sparked outrage by churches, and organizations that support religion.

>> the family lost the home and the dog did suffer some burns. but as you can see, she is okay. a dog rescued from a reservoir near denver doing fine this morning. that is what it looked like yesterday, though. the dog had been chasing a coyote across the reservoir and both fell into the icy water. the coyote went under. but max the dog kept paddling to stay float. and rescuers suited up to save max. this is video is out of mid- michigan. this motorcycle rider crashed on sunday and the whole thing caught on tape. people rushed in to help and it's something that witnesses can't seem to get out of their head. >> it seemed like it was in slow motion just as he went up and hit and went bam. and you see this big loud

crash. it was scary. >> a clown and local shriner were injured during the flying cable during that incident. >> that is amazing video today. and something else we'll be preparing for today is winter whether. >> is this going to stick around or one of those things that will pass through? exactly. i think it's something like we saw on saturday. on the roads that blacktop, a little too warm. so i think we'll have more melting cross that area. here's the whether pattern for today. we have the area of low pressure that is going slide through and we'll start to see some snowfall across the area. we'll start out with rain in a lot of spots. but in western maryland, continuing will start out just plain snow and in the baltimore area, starting out at rain, but this will switch all over to snow.

so we'll have a little bit of accumulating snow totals out there. so here is the snow cast. we're looking at the baltimore area in the city. we can get up to maybe an inch of some snow. mainly accumulate ago across the street grassy surfaces. as we go north and west, you'll get more snow across that area. and then the further to the south you go, washington d.c. and south of baltimore, i think that will stay mainly as a rain event. but all and all it will be more rain across the area. for today, temperature-wise, we'll be around 39 degrees and we had that wintry mix developing switching over to snow as we go mainly into 6:00. that commute home, we're getting a break it it rights now. but the commute home will be dicey. take it easy on the roadways this afternoon. the temperature around 30 degrees and the snow showers will start to end and we'll get gradual clearing out there and we look much better for
